Oops, posted it twice, sorry! It also seems I can't use the "edit" button on my posts, because I need *another* account for that? (it says I need a wincustomize account) .. very weird. J.

I've been lurking/reading here for a while. I see things there seems to be no explanation for, like, when I view some peoples posts, the sidebar, and I keep seeing things that shows me their favourite bloggers - where does that list come from? i.e. How do I get my own list of bloggers to watch? JoeUser seems to need some "help" pages to describe things like this.. Or is it just that I can't find them? J.

Umm.. interesting start to this article, but I gave up reading halfway through because it's hard to keep track of your place when there's no paragraphs whatsover...
See the SF project summary page: Project UNIX name: synergy2 Registered: 2002-08-02 19:27 http://sourceforge.net/projects/synergy2/ Also the history page: http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/history.html Now if only one of these were peer-to-peer and not 1-server, lotsa-clients..
Hmm, it seems others already have this idea.. http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000190053747/
I'm wondering if there'll ever be a version that doesnt require an additional monitor per machine. We have 5 computers running, and only two monitors (there isnt space for more), so what I'd like to see is: A software that gives me a 'virtual desktops' like mini window showing each of the screens of my machines in mini format, clicking on which would give me that machine fullscreen. Also a way to have any number of screens showing tiled fullscreen, so
It just occured to me, that todays clothing industry is still stuck in Victorian times, in some ways. In particular, the right/left-handed zipper/buttons thing. Mens clothing gets zippers that can be done up right-handed, ie the flap of cloth over the zipper is on the left, leaving it accessible from the right. Womens is the opposite way around, this was originally be
What 'feels' are the nerves, what thinks and stores memories is the brain. How do you expect to continue feeling or thinking things when these fleshy parts of you have decayed? The reason people say that 'you' dont exist any more is because when your body has dissolved back to the atoms it consists of, theres nothing left that can feel or think or remember. As for a spirit and whether it survives, I dont think so.. But Ill come back and tell y
I wasnt sure whether to post this in Internet->Websites, or Books, but acttually I'm more interested in opinions from the book side of things .. soo.. First of all, has anybody seen or heard of a community website, that is about books? There are plenty that sell books, and have lots of information about them, but the listing of ones own books, and discussion,
Hmm, why use such a service? I quite like software which imports the server access logs, and spits out a nice set of HTML pages about hits, page sizes, and so on... eg Webalizer. (This is a linux program for apache though.. ,)
Development is complex, so that the resulting software is simple. "Simple" programs ofttimes produce software that is unusable for the average user (57 different options, most of which the software should know intuitively, if only the programmer had bothered..) Lots of things are complex behind the scenes, so that the users have ease of use. Cars/machinery are made of many different, tiny and precise parts, for example. (Ok, probably not a goo
Opera, what else? (7.6pre4 at the moment) Works fine on Joe User for me, what problems did you actually have?
Came across the essay where? On the net, in a bookshop? Why say its so great, if you dont tell us where to read it for ourselves?
I guess this is supposed to be an introductory post.. Why desert-island? Way back when I started out playing games and such on the internet (MUDs, anyone know them?) I had to pick a nickname, and settled on "castaway", from "Message in a bottle" by Sting, looking up the lyrics of which, I will leave as an exercise for the reader. Having to name my first comp
I had it figured out in the first few lines.. There's only one defence though.. Get yourself a boyfriend! Jess
I'm not quite sure where to start.. Yes, I've heard that (some percentage of) Americans are ignorant of what goes on around them, true, nobody usually takes the time to care if other countries have similar traits. The size of the country should have little to do with it, or do you also not care what people are up to in Canada, or Mexico, or Cuba? The US is also surrounded by countries, even if they
10: Correct 9: I would have, had I bothered at all. 8: Nope 7: Nope, but I suspect ordering most of them online, and getting the last ones last-minute probably counts. 6: Nope. (Is it?) 5: Nope. (They had lists) 4: Nope. 3: Nope. 2: I wish ,) 1: Nope, no rationalisation.. Yup, guess I'm a christmas lamer.. And this is special because.. ? Seriously, when you don't have any close family or friends a
Clicking on those links ("Konfabulator") etc, isnt doing it for me.. Where are they supposed to go? Jess
That makes perfect sense to me.. I wish more people would be so literal, sometimes! (Finally discovered my login, I knew it was here somewheres..) Jess
