PC Magazine has posted their hands-on experience with Microsoft's Windows Vista, BETA 1: After several years of waiting to see the successor to Windows XP, code-named Longhorn, we've finally gotten our hands on Beta 1 of what now will be called Windows Vista. This version, aimed at developers and IT shops, lacks many features that the final Windows Vista, still over a year away, will have. But it has all the basic foundations of t
I'm using it now for the weather widget, which I prefer to all the DesktopX and Kapsules weather widgets I've tried. I think the Sun widget is SUPER cool, but unfortunately it interferes with my start menu being erased (or at least start menus with transparency). I'd love to see something like that done in DesktopX. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif" border=0 alt="Posted v
updating thru SDC? Yes, I'm updating through SDC. I'm wondering if one of my files on the desktop is causing the latest version to crash. It shows the trashcan and then immediately crashes. I thought it might be some pics on the desktop, but removing them didn't help. I haven't gotten ar
Thanks for testing, Bichur. What version are you using? I did the uninstall/install thing a couple times. I tried updating to 1.10.002 (just noticed it), and it crashes immediately every time. Had to go back to 1.10.001, which still has the zoom problems. BTW, after I empty the trash can, it does update to an unzoomed empty state, but it leaves remnants of the zoomed full state behind, since it never actually unzooms that versi
I feel so left out.
You wink in virtually all your messages. Are they all tongue-in-cheek? Pretty much. When I'm 'pissed off' the smilies aren't included... Okay, I guess I have to start reading your messages with a different mindset. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 ALIGN="ab
Tarkus....you clearly missed the tongue-in-cheek wink..... You wink in virtually all your messages. Are they all tongue-in-cheek? </a
Oh yeah, go ahead and show off, Frogboy!
"Please, just give up and let Apple rain supreme." No problem. While they're doing that, Microsoft will reign supreme.
Don't really care about the name, just wonder when Micro$oft will stop charging money and give us all a free upgrade when they change the system. About the same time GM stops charging you to upgrade your car to a newer model. <img src="http://images.st
We are also working in conjunction with TweakXP on a program called TweakVista. TweakVista will let Windows Vista users tweak the heck out of their new OS. Interesting. Is this expected to be part of Object Desktop? <img src="http://images.stardock.c
And then there's the integration of RSS into the OS. Microsoft seems to believe that RSS is going to be a dominant way of making use of data in all kinds of interesting applications. We think the same thing. For example, when IE 7 starts coming close to release, we plan to make WinCustomize's skin galleries support RSS. </
eXPerience more like.... eXPerimental eXasPerating ineXPlicable Interesting. My eXPerience has been that most people consider XP Microsoft's best OS yet, and don't share your attitude towards it. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote
I'm using the Huge theme. I haven't made any manual adjustments.
Phenomenal athlete. Even without the cancer he'd be amazing. That only adds to his legend.
dont even go there, no substance whatsoever. True, but we didn't have enough Windows Vista threads yet. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif"
Please include a device which automatically electrocutes people who are too stupid to use a pc... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif" border=0 alt="Posted via WinCustom
RE Vista- what's wrong with using version numbers like a real program? A new version number implies an upgrade. A new name implies a new program. IOW, they can charge more. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif" border=0 alt=
Not for me. Double click an icon or right click recycle and empty = all go back down on their own. Interesting. I wonder why it doesn't work here? Might have to try another uninstall/install. <T
what is JU? Look at the graphic at the top of this thread.
Good grief! Let Microsoft call it what they like - after all it's their product. Who's trying to stop them? It's simply a poll asking whether or not you like the name. <TD class="mb-Body-Quote-Tex
