http://www.ctuit.com/bill/galciv.htm HawaiiFive-O made a pretty slick GalCiv text modding tool for editing things in the game. Unfourtunatly, the UPIssues are one of the more under-developed items in the game, so you may find yourself limited on what you can create. Random events, on the other hand, may be more exciting to make and see in the game. Anyways, hopefully this tool will help get you started :) Also, check out the "Modding" sec

While I know the Metaverse Scoring has become the hot topic in this thread, I just wanted to chime in and say that we are working on a fix to the Governors issue. Hopefully we'll be able to get a patch out the door by the end of the day :( Sorry for the inconvenience. ~SDC~

I think it's soon...depends on Brad, I guess. THere's always going to be features we could continue to put in, but I'd say the meat of the new features are in and working (rally points, tech tree screen - now with bonuses ;), hyperlinks in the trade screen, locks on economic sliders, ect) Right now Cari's working on Embargos, I'm working on UP Issues and Random Events, and Brads busting out some Linked Events (If he's found time lately between pressing Object Desktop matters

Let's use our new image displaying capabilities to make sure everyone's one the same page :CONGRAT: 1. Click on a star on the sector map to get the "Ships in Orbit" window to open on the lower right side of the screen. 2. Double click on the transport you want to launch (or press the Ship icon to the right). You'll get this new window below it, allowing you play wi

Rade: If you want to send your account info to me at [email protected] I can talk one-on-one with our database/wesite manager and dig up your information. I'll also talk to the shipping department and see if they've sent out your box (and if so, when it was sent, and if not, make sure they get it out ASAP) Sorry for all the mixups. We'll try and get this straightened out as soon as possible. :HOT:

I actually think this is going to be an added treaty option in the expansion pack, but yeah, for now go with the "give away all your planets thing" for the same effect.

news://news.stardock.com/stardock.od.windows.general This is probably the best place to ask your question. These forums don't get much traffic in the way of Object Desktop programmers, so the newsgroup (or event better, #stardock on IRC) would be a better location to ask OD related questions. Hope this helps :)

Nothing along those lines, but we will be adding an "Obsolete Ships" list to the gov's screen to filer out unused ships. This will help cut down the clutter on the planet screen later in the game. There were suggestions to allow players to save their governor lists. I don't think it's the highest priority on the list, but if more people asked for it I'm guessing that could help with the "building priority list tweaking" annoyances that heppen when new Improvements are disco

If I remember right there's code in there to only allow enemy stars to be fired upon, so any un-inhabited stars won't be available for target practice. ;) I forget why we did that, but I'm pretty sure there was a reason behind keeping un-inhabited stars safe :notsure: (we really need to write down our thought process on some of these issues for later examination).

I thought we were going to be puting out a build today. The problem has been fixed, and if we don't get a build out for tomorrow eiher I'll get a quick fix up for you guys to DL while waiting for the code update. Sorry again :(

Hmm...looks like some of the code for the "expansion pack" has krept into version 1.04 :( We actually got a sexy new explosion in for Star Destruction purposes, but it looks like the code is looking for some new gfx that aren't available for DL yet. The bad news is you won't be able to dish out mass murder on a solar scale tonight. The good news is we should have it fixed and available on SDC tomorrow. ;) Sorry for the bug. :(

Over on www.WinCustomize.com there're some cool abstract wallpaper designs that the designers may let you use if you ask them (there's some cool guys over there). Also, I think an "art scraps" section in the library would be cool. Artists could upload random images they've made for others to use. I know the art department could come up with some images to get the ball rolling, and perhaps I can recruit some guys from WinCustomize to help out.

Basically the way it works is : higher PQ == higher population == higher tax revenue == more $$ towards production So if you populate a low quality planet, pump it up with banking imps and morale improvements (to keep the masses happy). You'll get shafted on Influence, though. [Message Edited]

It pulls from the overall Approval Rating when tabulating senate wins/losses, not from the individual planets, unfourtunatly, so thats not the problem. :( Really, once you've secured anything over 55% you should be a shoe-in to regain senate control. If you can save a game before this weirdness happens (and it's reproducable) send it to [email protected] and I'll take a peek at it. Thanks :)

Pressing Enter to close a dialogue box or end a turn: We have to so the enter key ends the turn, which is why we took it out as a way to close screens...you end up accidentally ending your turn (no matter how aware you are of it). Alphabetical List of ships in the Military Gov. Screen: It'll be in the Expansion. More consistent mousewheel support - works in someplaces, not in others: We're trying to tackle those areas..it does get annoying when it dosent work but should :(

Not foolish at all ;) I'll take a crack at 'em. 1.) Depending on the type of MOD they will need to be placed in different locations. Just look at the file extention, see where other files of that type are located, and plop it in that folder. Most graphics will need to go in the /gfx folder and the data files (event, anomaly, ect) will go in the /data folder (with a few exceptions). 2.) There's a "search" function in the forums on www.GalCiv.com, but unfourtunatly, not on Sta
