There'll actually be 2 lists. You'll have the universal high-score list (grand total per player), and then you'll have the empire ranking. Empires are the cumulative average of all participating players, and will eventually be displayed in visual form. Hope this helps :) ~SDC~

While i havn't used it before, I beleive Stardock Central (SDC) has an "Archive feature", so you can backup downloaded files and re-install them as necessary. Don't know if this is the exact functionality you're looking for..but hopefully it helps :) ~SDC~

Actually, each political party has it's prime opposition. The War Party has the Pacifists, the Mercahtile party has the Technologists, ect. So, if your morale is low, most likely votes will swing in favor of the opposint party, though at times other partys will swing the vote their way. ~SDC~

1.) We've played around with morale altering Modules, Resources, ect...and they can be DANGEROUS, to say the least. THe morale of your population is linked to so many different aspects of the game that crushing that will severely damage that race across the board. We could do this, cause it'd be cool :) but it'll have to be small increments, otherwise it'll turn into an easy win situation. Though I'm not sure if you need it with destabilization so easilly available. :\ Hmm.... 2.

Nakor (Kris) is our Quality Assurance/Technical Assistance/English Checking/Networking Guru around the office that works on a little bit of everything (mostly Object Desktop). He's also very gracious when it comes to picking up lunch for others, so he's pretty high on my "cool people" list :D ... mostly 'cause im lazy :(

Brad and I had chatted about mass steralization in the form of a UP issue. If it's legalized, you get a new slider on the Domestic Policy screen that allows you to set the % of a planets mass population you want people to stop reproducing at. You're enforcing mass steralization, but you'll keep your planets happier easier. I dont know if this'd be considered "Evil", but it's definatly something that could come up after researching that first Tech. An evil tech I wouldnt mind seeing i

hehe The non-entertainment side of stardock *always* has apps in the works ;) (Windowblinds 4, ObjectBar, DesktopX 2, ect). As for us on the game side, I'll be heading the "Political Machine" team, while Cari will be taking care of "GalCiv" Bonus features for a while. After that...well, perhaps a GalCiv2 if things go well, or one of the other games Brad has ideas on. We'll just have to wait and see what the boss decides. :)

Hmmm...did it accidentally get switched to "Auto-Attack" somehow (had the words AutoAttack beneith it), or was the SB just in the Survey Ships' path and it got confused and attacked it?

Hey Obb...I'm gonna rattle off some quick answers before i get to work (YOu'd be suprised how much there's still to do even after goin' gold). 1. Yeah, it's been asked for, so once we figure out a clean way to slip it into the game, I'm sure you'll be finding it in an upcoming update. 2. YES, the is an excelent idea...click on a button in the SL and you can use the minimap to navigate your ships. We'll have to determine the most simple yet obvious way to put this in the UI...b

Sounds like in the next month they'll be adding a Drengin upgrade feature for people who purchaced GalCiv through the web-site. $30 will be the going rate to get the entire Drengin package (good call, Joe ;))

Sure, now that GalCiv is gold we have a bit more time to answer questions :) Custom Ships: Basically, you dont get to build your own ship. You cant say "I want a scout with Shock Turrents, Hyper Engines, a Deflect Shield and Repair Droids" (even though, I agree, this would be cool). Instead, any upgrade technology you get will automatically be distributed to ships in your fleet. Researching "Impulse Drive" for instance will give all ships a slight speed boost. No need for refitting,

Trade routes will only bring in $$$, no other bonuses will be received by them. However, races can build "Trade Items", social projects that will be trademarked once built (only one player in the galaxy can make them). Once built, the trade item will have some sort of positive effect on that race (morale boost, diplomatic boost, ect). The player can then use that trade item when bargaining with other civs (Trade Items are worth ALOT on the bargaining table). When you trade it, both civs will

Welcome to the boards, Mob! :CONGRAT: Yeah, the three things people seem to have gripes with are 1. no custom ships 2. no tactical ship battles (though they are animated ;)) and 3. no MP (see http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GF&id=17469 for more on that). Brad's philosophy has always been to make GalCiv where Empire building and AI interactions are the meat of the game, and there's some good discussion going around about this idea. And beta testers are pretty great when it comes to answer

Brad has talked before about making a multiplayer galciv, though it'd be completely seperate from the SP version. Though im new to online gaming (a console-only gamer until I started working for SD) the idea of empire building with/against some buddies on a lan always sounded cool to me. Again, though, that game is for another time ;)

My concern with this feature is that, when your final star is taken, that dosent mean you populous have been enslaved, or intermixed with the invading forces...it meens they've been eliminated. In this case, the mothership would actually make sense. A small fraction of the Human Race have escaped on a lifeboat of sorts, and have to re-settle before they get destroyed for good. Actually, you could probably jsut use a fleet of transports and colony ships for this purpose...im not sure though.<b

1. Player colonizes the individual planets within the system, but invasion is done on a star-system level. Only one race can control a star at a time. 2. A colony ship is necessary for colonizing (Though an inter-system mode of colonizing has been suggested). 3. Build Queue in the form of 4 customizable "Governors". Tell the governor what to build, then the planet what gov. to use, and the automation will take care of the rest. 4. Population is the overall population

The bonus pack will include the ability to turn off victory conditions (except military victory. So yeah, youll be able to play a game where other victories are ignored and only the strongest player will come out the victor :)
