If this is a reproducable thing, can you send your latest save file to [email protected]? Your debug.er may also be of use! Thanks!

OK, ill let the guys know everythings cool Enjoy the game!
Are you upgrading from a boxed copy, or from a downloaded version? I've sent out an email to the appropriate support guys...hopefully they'll get back with me ASAP.
Hey brigandphantos, you came to the right place Download Stardock Central (https://www.stardock.com/products/sdcentral/), and install the most recient version of the game. If that dosent help, please post your debug.err file here and we can get a better idea of what kind of machine you're running the game on. SOrry for the problems...hopefully we can get this cleared up ASAP.
Cotton: If your friend is having troubles, make sure they come on this forum and we'll try to help him get the issues resolved. We've been talking to several development studios reciently, and the unfortunate truth is that ALL pc games, no matter how well they're tested on different machines, will have problems working on about 2% of the users machines. Your friend was lucky with those other games, but is having an unforseen problem with ours. Again, let him know that he's welcome to
You should see it when playing at 1024X1600. The vertically stretched planet is even uglier But yeah, the rotating planet is a video. Next game we'll make it a true 3d object and it'll play nicer at different aspects...but for now it'll just be a squishy world.
Please send your problem to [email protected] may be a disconnect somewhere in the database.
Also new threads that you watch will do that - I work at Stardock and was also suprised but this convenient feature
Are you talking about the "Continue Game" button on the main menu? That should be functional on campaign and metaverse games, and will jsut take you back into the game that you're currently playing (ex. if you went back to the main menu from the options screen). Just make sure you have a game started...that button will be greyed out when you first boot up the game.
No, the rings simply give a slight boost to your research on that planet. Is one of the farms on a "food production bonus" tile? Also, be sure to research Moral boosting techs before researching Farming techs....an overpopulated planet is a quick way to anger those citizens
I thought we were friends, roko! To shame.
grrr Went to update the post and accidentally erased it. I forgot that Brad would be out for some time, so we're going to work on getting this stuff fixed and update as soon as possible. Soundbyte: hehe Yeah, but if we're burned at the stake, then who's going to do the bug fixes
No, her suggestion was to increase the amount of virtual memory on your machine (though defragmenting drives is always nice for a performance boost). We're working on a better fix as we speak
Hey Dyna, Check https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=115094#888774 for some tips on how to get around these crashes for the time being. We're getting a fix put together as quickly as possible. Sorry for the frustrations
If the sound drivers dont fix your problem, check out https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=115094#888639. It looks like some memory issues slipped into the release that are hurting some users (which cari chats about here: https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=164&AID=115672#888689), but they're being tackled as we speak. We're going to get an update to you guys ASAP.
Welcome to the forum, Roko! In the demo, I was only able to get up to medium hulls too It amazing how quickly those turns zip by! Have fun with the game!
Gookamundo: We've tracked the source of the bug, which was a mis-print of your email address in the activation request. A team member has sent you a file that should get the game running for you
Yeah, next time we do this we'll have to put something about "needing the internet for activating patches" on the box. We assumed that, since you GET the patch from the internet, this shouldn't be an issue, but it has been for some players. On the bright side, we looked into the database and I think we got Gukamundo's problem sorted out Let's hope they're all as easy as a mismatch between emai
Yeah, SmartException is usually a last resort, but it provides alot of useful information. I've heard suggestions of perminatly running it in the BG, but alot of users don't like unexplained processes running on their computers Thanks for your help! The more bugs we can squash, the better
Please note that from the start it's been stance that the ONLY TIME the serial number would be needed was for updates and to submit to the metaverse. And, even then, it should only have to be activated once. Tom (Gookamundo): We've looked for your activation request in our email database but haven't been able to locate it Please see this post (https://forums.galciv2.c
While you're debug.err would be helpful, if you're using 1.1, can you take a look at this thread https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=115094#888639 to see if any of these suggestions work. This may related to a memory issue that various users of 1.1 are running into.
Sorry guys, we are looking into this problem. Looks like the memory issues are leading into save-file issues. Can you all check out this (https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=115094#888639) thread and see if the suggestions help? If not, we'll have the problems fixed for the next update. Thanks you all for your paticence, and we apologize for any frustrations that this has caused
Tom, Did you use your Yahoo email address when requesting the activation file? We're not seeing your email in our database, but will gladly look for it under another address. If you're still having troubles, please email me directly at [email protected] and we'll get your issues straightened out. Thanks for your paticence.
Hey Vimes, Would you mind running smart exception to see if this happens again? Unfortunatly the debug.err dosent tell much in this instance, so any crash log or reproducable save file you can supply would help us squash the bug Thanks!
Hmm, that's weird that in both instances it crashes after those random event posts. We'll tag your smart-exception, Lyndy, and see what we can dig up. Sorry for the crashes Hopefully we can get the bug sorted out ASAP.
