Hey Potential! Could you post your debug.err file here? It will be in your root GalCiv2 directory (somthing like c:program files\stardock\totalgaming\galciv2). That will give us some specs that should help us figure out your problem! Thanks!

We definatly battled this one back and forth a bit. On one side, people want to to see bigger, cooler representations of their weapons as they work their way up the tech tree. On the other side, you're saying that the item is getting smaller, but when the person picks it the weapon is actually bigger. I think, in the end, the graphics are just fluff anyways, so I'd just use the size slider to fuel your thirst for text and GFX to synch up <img src="http:/

It crashes when you click on the victory icon?! How weird If you ever get a spare moment, Meglobob, could you install smartException and try to catch that crash? I'm sure others have the same issue, so stomping it out would be great (and you could revisit that screen again ) Thanks!

Keith, There were some framerate throttling problems that caused weird crashes on very high-end machines out of the box. If you have a crazy souped-up rig, make sure you've downloaded the latest version (dont get the 1.1 version yet, it's still in beta). If you've already done this, please post your debug.err file here. Also, to the others, we do appreciate you sticking up for us <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle"

The empty should work....basicially the game goes through and any 'frames' that dont contain vertex data (ie: they're just position and scale information) will be interperated as a hardpoint. Also, as far as naming goes, thy don't even need to be called "Dummy"...any name can be used. However, if you name them with the following prefixes, they will be used in the following manner... P0, P1, P2, ect: By naming the hardpoint with a P as the first letter, it becomes a "Propu

Planet Maps: I beleive this was elther fixed in 1.0x or in 1.1 (which is still in beta). Random Events: There are random morality events that happen outside of the colonization process, but keep in mind that, after researching "Xeno-ethics", these events will not longer appear.

have you tried the 1.1 Beta update? The interface has been reworked to allow rotation of peices, which DRASTICALLY increases the number of combinations you can pull off with the current peices. More jewelry will definatly come, but unfortunatly, with all the features that need tweaked and bugs that need squashed, it's fairly low-priority

For me, it always depends on where in the galaxy that planet is. If I was ballsy enough to populate a world in the middle of another civ's borders, I'll focus on Embasies. If it's a backwater planet that probably won't have to worry about invasions, I'll make it a banking or research planet. And then the bonuses also come into play. A world that'd I'd normally use for cranking out ships will sometimes become a research world if the correct bonus tile is available. Of course, I

Psio: Did you by any chance get this problem when playing the full-version over the demo? We're trying to narrow down the possible problems, but haven't been able to reproduce the issue on any of our systems around the office. I know one player was able to fix the issue by uninstalling the demo and full version, then re-installing jsut the full version, but he also updated his intel gfx card, so it could be either of these that fixed the problem. We definatly do appreciate you

Yeah, the solar shower was a genius invention (but don’t underestimate the sun...that water can get HOT). One of my favorite places to camp is up on a 140 acre piece of property that my family owns. It's pretty rustic, but when you can see the sky without city-light interference, it makes it all worth while. But yeah, after being stinky and tired after a camping trip it's defiantly nice to get back home and enjoy the simple comforts w
