The name of the map is Ceres and it can be found in the Data\Custommaps directory of the Dark Avatar folder in C:\ProgramFiles\....

Thanks for finding the right wiki page Mumble :) . The link on the databanks page seems to be broken and even searching within Wikipedia I couldn't seem to get to the right page.
What are the achievement medals for, they are just listed as: achievement 1, 2, etc.
There's some good info about the Medals and what they mean in this thread https://forums.galciv2.com/164127 Unfortunately not all of them are known.
It's probably in the style of play GW. At that point in my games I usually have 200-325 ships being built a turn plus any improvements that are still going on at that stage of the game. I think just the shear number is what makes them stop working. I use rally points(some just as autolaunch mechansims) to get around the problems it can cause. That can help the OP as well. Have all planets set to rally point. When ships are built they will be autolaunched in order to go to the RP. Just
I wasn't trying to denigrate anyone I just thought it amusing ;) . Plus I have to get my shot in there to backup Neilo :)
lol, this is funny. Everytime an old HCH member comes around wanting to return to the Meta they get the "speil" [e digicons][/e] from everyone. Goes to show though that the Meta is alive and well :) . oh yea: and ToE is where it's at [e digicons][/e] (whatever it is ;))
1) Is there any minimum difficulty level you have to play on?
No
2) how do you save and reload?
Same as you do in a sandbox game.
3) How to start one?
Make sure you have a charcter created and starte the game through the Metverse button. You'll be asked for your login and then to select the character(if you have more than one) that you'd like to play with. Then it's all the same as playing a sandbox gam
I've never experienced or read around here about not seeing the blue square icons on the right when your GNN report lists ships constructed for the turn. Have you tried ?
In late game with DL and DA on larger maps you lose the build notification icons coming up. This usually happens then will come back and work randomly, but more times than not you'll not get them anymore. Cari during the TA beta thought she found the cause of it
I don't have TA yet.
ahh, I didn't know that. :) Yea the addition of the Tech trees is big in custom civing it now. Unlike some of the stock races seemingly adverse SA Tech tree combos(Thalans? ;) ), you can actually give your civ a more useful SA by matching it to a tech tree with similar strengths.
Creative (for me) generally works only when I'm researching Defense techs. Otherwise, it's a waste of a point.
Must just be a bad run of luck for you. Creativity usually works early and often for me. I had it hit twice within the first two months of my current game. Thanks for sharing that. I still have both the Saturn and Dreamcast hooked to my PC through a TV card and still enjoy playing them :) .
In addition the slider below the Axis selection is in a stopped position by default. Make sure your adjusting that as well.
Delete Me, for I am a double post. [e digicons];P[/e]
Welcome Lugosi :) . I've opened up the Throne room for you at the ToE site. Lots of good tips there.
You need to go into your account, under edit characters and you'll see a default button on the right. Just hit that to highlight it and then the medals will show for that character
Just out of curioosity - does it save governors from game to game as a template? Hope so. Jonnan
Nope, not yet at least ;) .
ooo, that pesky ship designer. I can get caught in there for hours ;) . Some peeps just like to see all the pretty stuff. I have an aged machine(to put it mildly) and still crank all the graphics until it slows down. I zoom in close and out to icon view on everyturn and like seeing all the cool little details(planet lights, ships orbiting, etc.)
Have fun with it Neilo. It's good to have a nemesis, builds character [e digicons][/e]
Thanks for the free advertising :)
Sorry, I can't place it either. For all the music I know I suck at this game ;) .
I didn't realize EA gave their developers any options after the horror stories I've heard about the work environment they force upon people working for/under them. On a semi related note: I noticed a few titles on Impulse had a note saying they required internet activation. Does that mean those games still have their own DRM aside from Impulse itself?
Finding the ctrl+P thing was helpful, thanks to whoever first mentioned it. Problem is right now you can only use ctrl+p if you go straight to the planet surface from the main galaxy screen. If you enter the planet screen from the colonies list ctrl+p does nothing. In addition if you go into the planet screen from the main screen and use the ctrl+p, then you hit next or previous in the upper right to go to another planet, when you hit ctrl+p again it still pops up the one from the ini
I press on the arrows next to the available improvements section and nothing happens.
I hadn't tried to use the arrows, but doubleclicking the improvements sent them over just fine for me. You might give that a shot.
A suggestion, if it hasn't already been made somewhere. Add a tab above the available improvements for the planet templates. So you'll have tabs for new, old, all, and templates or whatever appropriate name you have in mind.
Good one Motti! [e digicons][/e] I haven't attempted one since they were being done on tiny maps ;) . Oh yea, I love the characters name [e digicons][/e]
