People who die from influenza are usually the old, the very young, and folks who have a weakened immune system due to AIDS or HIV, chemotherapy and other treatments for cancers and diseases. I agree that it's sad, but because it's a virus there isn't much anyone can do about it - except to treat the symptoms with things like IV fluids and breathing treatments for lung congestion.
