No way in hell, I don't even think the President of the USA needs to make $400K, what kind of arbitrary number is that? Or does someone know how's it's calculated. The Presidency provides a president with more financial opportunities than they'll ever "need." Bill Clinton gives lectures for around $200K a pop!

A little disappointed that no one responded to MoveOn.org directly and turned this into a electoral college debate, but hey, what can you do? Thank you all for your replies and I've tried to touch upon those I had any reasonable convictions with. I don't think Gore was some sort of saint. And I don't think he had a

Below is a statement I just received as an email alert encouraging me and others on MoveOn.org's email list to register to vote. If only 538 more Floridians had voted for Al Gore in 2000, we wouldn't be in Iraq. 130,000 of our brave men and women would be safer, deployed elsewhere. 37,000 reservists would still be here at home. I usually ski

Gideon, I think the people you are criticizing will have trouble accepting that a rational person would enter into a patriarchal relationship voluntarily. The argument here might be that if someone was fully-informed, one probably wouldn't choose to be in a patriarchal relationship without some kind of coercion. However, I see that the real point here is that someone was trying to put words in your mouth and everyone can appreciate how frustrating th

Reply #91 By: pseudosoldier - 9/19/2004 6:00:41 PM Wait... 7 or 8 other people had shots off that bottle. NFI. That doesn't really say anything about "too much tequila" to me. Arr. Yeah, which means the remaining 8-10 shots went down my throat...ick, I shudder just thinking about it right

Well just when I thought I could never drink to much Tequilla my friends showed me the bottle this morning that was brand new last night and only 7 or 8 other people had shots of....I think it's time for a behavior change. Or at least switch to shots of apple juice or water. Ugh! Suspeckted

Mig, Pete Yorn probably saved my life Summer of 2003. I was in the most depressed state I've ever been in and bombarded by anxiety attacks while moving away from home for real for the first time and breaking up with my girlfriend of six years. Wander This World is definitely a break up album, and he's never shared the pain so well. "convince yourself that everything is alright, cause it already is" that's actually my signature on ev

Comically Disturbing...your subject matter never fails to show us the size of your perverbial nuts Mig. SuspeckTed PS - I had to hit the edit button...on second read through I realized this one is really good, fucking good in fact. If I ever find another open mic venue that's appropriate I may request permission to read this one there. (chances are that wouldn't even be this year)

Well I think I am covered under most of those except the satisfying sex...It's been over a year since I've had sex and whoever is next in line will get an ear full of disclaimers so anything above "deeply disastisfied" will seem like absolute ectasy. Thank Mig, Thanks for letting me believe there are real women out there looking for such things.

And the next thing you know, you've gained a dozen pounds, have taken to sleeping in or having more than just the occasional nap. Instead, you've started sleeping your troubles away, savoring chocolate instead of savoring a job well done. I find myself with a similar curse but I actually lose a lot of weight........otherwise I've seen very similar symptoms at very difficult times in my life.

Yes, the bright-eyed girl, in the back of the class, waving her hand? Ignore her. For her answer, wrong or right, won't help a patriarch, scratch another mark, in her his-story books, so sleep tight. The smoke screen erupts from her exhaustion pipes, torn between being the ugly witch, o

Yeah, I was just in a sarcastic mood, I guess.Part of the problem with the WalMart thing, though, is they're not even good capitalists. A good capitalist would pay their good employees well, to keep them from going to the competition, and would be sensitive to things like this because of their corporate image. <B

Personally, I'm all for a capitalist society, Well I'm all for drinking clean water, but that doesn't mean I'd enjoy 40 tubes pumping it into every orifice of my body. Man, what's with me and these analogies? I guess the point is, just about anything in excess is dangerous, and very few things are inherently

not a rip on the song you posted here by any means but I thought I'd throw in the song that I most associate with 9/11 which happens to be from a very different take. I'm actually going to see this guy tonight even though I'm supposed to get up at 5:30 tomorrow morning for a 70 miles bike ride...oh well, should be worth it.
