Trin, I was just about to go to bed but I'm going to have to scan around a bit longer so those aren't the last things I think about before I go to sleep. You and a friend of mine sound more and more alike everytime I read a post of yours like this (well, more like her and me I suppose)...she describes the same overwhelming barrage of emotions spanning all areas of her current life and her past not knowing what to do with them. I can't tell if everyon

Though there are many bands that have a special place in my heart that aren't recording anymore I know it's really for the best. I lose a lot of faith in music when I look through the concert listings to see bands I love that hit their peak a decade or two ago playing some casino in the midwest. And yet...I'm with ya...Go Duran Duran! -Suspeckted

Mig, thanks for pointing out your blog on this topic I missed a ways back. All labels are dangerous in what they may project to others. Both the labels we ascribe ourselves and those that are placed upon us. Feminisim to me, is so interesting in regard to how it's changed over time, but how little of that change is actually recognized by our mainstream cultures.

Sit and stare when you can't stand to watch, over, and under everything we've touched, down, running full lengths in everything we take, bribes, wondering if our conscience landed, safely, along with our pride, or was our conscience, consequences, paid in real-time while fully lacking, benefit, to no one other than our

Flattered that I have been the inspiration to a thread to a fresh newcomer. Working with elementary school kids myself it's frustrating to me that we still hear the term "tomboy" thrown around. Though this label is often cast in a more positive light than it was when I was younger, girls who engage in certain behaviors are still reminded that what they enjoy is really a "boy thing." When I open the gym for game time in the afternoon boys o

As soon as it's time to stop thinking, I wonder the most, upon how much I've spent this evening, how much wasted, how my roommates never do the dishes and steal my daily vitamins, while fooling myself to sleep, I am so helplessly confined to such pettiness. Then I see these fingers, nails that need clipping, my glance shifting

My "little" sister (19 years old) emailed me describing her idea for a sociology project concerning the label "feminist." I have included her comments and my reply to it as I believe it may stir some interesting distraction away from the election. Suspeckted's Little Sis says: For my sociology survey project I'm researching people's idea of what fe

Leaping Lizard, I'm not sure if I'll ever subscribe to the second philosophy you've described. If I vote for the Democratic Party why will they have any reason to listen to third party issues when I've already given in to abandoning my hopes?

So the '98 WTC bombing was a hoax? Beirut was a hoax? TWA Flight was a hoax? Hmm, I guess we should eliminate those parts in History Books. Would you at least make some acknowledgement of the point I was trying to make? I was suggesting that we didn't suffer an attack of 9/11 proportions under those e

You didnt bother to vote? Hmm, you sure do complain a lot about the shape this country is in for someone who couldnt be bothered to cast their vote. "Give America Back!" you shout....and now i will ask....to whom? To vocal discontents who are unwilling to make their voices heard at the only place it really counts, at the polls?<B

and how can the other half of Americans convince themselves that Kerry is really going to change all of this?So it's better to do nothing at all, right? Give change a chance and maybe you'll get it. I AM giving change a chance, and that's why I will not vote for either party. <TABLE cellp

It would be completely hypocritical of me to suggest that I have no played some part in the continuuing barrage of anti-Bush anti-Kerry smut that is circulating around JU. However, in the process I'm getting closer and closer to my boiling point. I suppose this happens nearly every election as eventually, many people throw their hands up into the air to give up, sto

"The above are all facts about our situation on October 8, 2004. How can half of America want to continue this by re-electing George W?" and how can the other half of Americans convince themselves that Kerry is really going to change all of this?

I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out since I did write in on the fly. Recently, everytime I've opened my notebook I've been really disappointed with what's available for material. Interesting how well it can pay off to go with my random fits of inspiration. Mig, I'm always flattered by your support in light of how intrigued I continue to be by your own work. Thanks to all, Suspeckted</fo

I love that you referenced Eddie Izzard. My man Unfairman, a fellow JU, introduced me to that far underrated comic. Hopefully Unfairman will be back in another year and a half from the Peace Corps to regrace the JU blogsphere. Good luck with the wedding business. Suspeckted

Amen, that they are. I'm working on expanding my friend base, and I suppose I've been working on it for the last 5 years...it's been a slow and not so steady process, but so very necessary for my sanity. -suspeckted

Amen! It's stuff like this that I blame for my complete adversion from pro-sports altogether. But really, I don't need to see pictures of Brittney Spears drinking a big gulp while she's shopping with millions of dollars she doesn't deserve, nor do we need to know if presidential candidates wear boxers of breifs. Sure, a little pointless distraction in our lives helps maintain our sanity, but that's why I read The Onion. News is much more entertaini

Ruined weekends find quick remedy in your phone call, monotony replaced by nervousness, cowardice replaced by strong squalls on the Mississippi, I'm grateful for the fact that I put no thought into what I'm wore, and haven't thought of how I haven't thought of it until now. but my point is that the seperation of church and state is a serious issue. But my point is that I don't think it's serious enough for the amount of time that's been committed to such things, and this is a very liberal person saying this. I really hope that if people took a closer look at their causes

There are probably just as many studies connecting low wages to dependency on public funds and services...something has got to give. I still am so miffed that no one is willing to budge at all on this issue. I know I have. I used to think we should all get a living wage but that's unrealistic. We could tailor fit a living wage program to benefit those that truly needed it. It doesn't have to be all one way or the other. Suspeckted

Way to much of nothing to do, to be, without or without you, those seem to be the choices, no, is the only reply I get from their voices, I'm so tense from my tight grip, gripping the ice below my feet preparing to slip, down to the pavement so I can pick out the rocks, from inbetween my knee caps, my toes, and mop up the blood with
