Every morning I'm greeted by a little kid who runs up and gives me a hug...unfortunately if I'm caught off guard due to said kid's height this usually leads to being head-butted in the crotch.....not a good way to start a day. but how are you supposed to yell at kid for giving you a hug, and how would they correct this...."grow damn it!" - suspeckTed PS - I figure if we have to go through the pain of getting nailed in the junk from t

This article was rejected from publishing in my college paper last year but I really liked it and the only editor working here at Margin2Margin is me....so here it is. Learning to Be Content With Mediocrity I don’t excel at anything. I mean it, there is not one thing I can do that I don’t know at least 10 other people that can do it better. It’s ta
Well in the quality of life vs. quantity, my current article is about mediocrity....Shameless plug I know, (couldn't help it) but I think you might enjoy it.
I think you've touched on something that many do take for granted. In our society death is viewed almost as "unnatural" when death is just as "natural" as birth if we think realistically. Yet how many of us will end up being hooked up to machines to breathe, feed, and live for us, and how many times will we put our dying bodies and our loved one's through such procedures before we allow a "natural" death. Maybe I took this too far as I thi
Well I would do this, but I'm already planning on throwing my vote away to the Greens. Likely a future post of mine. - suspeckted PS - very flattered that I made your link list...thanks
Lilac smelling neighborhoods, it looks like it's snowing with all the cottonwoods, but I got my windows down, and I haven't seen a frown in 20 blocks, and my black hat is tilted to the side cause that's the way I rock, stress to the brim, I'm a bit overstocked, but I'm blowin' smoke rings in the rearview and don't be shocked, we keep it all
WiseFawn - Of course I will keep you updated on my weekly sabaticals. Helix - you lost me...help me out.
Thanks for sharing the pain y'all. I was originally going to title this one "The Blogging Sabbath," suggesting we all set aside a day for reflecting upon the weeks events in hopes that we will be able to produce articles having more content than just venting our frustrations about the point systems and such. Apparently this works just as well though...thanks. Jill, New-Age Nomad, Bulldog - Thanks for validating me. Du
Chris, "So, they say....only fools rush in. But I can't help, falling in love with you." PS - UB40 Rocks!
Dear Joe User, I hate that it's gotten to this point, but this is probably way overdue. These past few months have been amazing and we've come so far together in such a short amount of time. But lately I've been feeling that I've been spending way too much time with you and the great lengths I've gone to justify it to myself have left me exhausted. I can
I can definitely feel ya on this. Sometimes just knowing that I have dirty dishes waiting for me, or that I keep forgetting to cut my finger nails just bums me out. But then we put on some good tunes just for ourselves and we plug the drain, put in the soap, and then I write a poem or two. I think you're right though, creativity can be something comforting to depression.....never thought about it before.
Mal - Word Up! Interestingly enough I do believe that if someone has a sex change they legally change their gender allowing a former man to marry another (current) man. How weird is that? There are a lot of things worth getting hung up on...I just don't really get this one. Your contributions always are appreciated. Kingbee - with the added disclaimer of loosely defined "consenting adults" my reply is "ditto."
Thanks for reading Nicky.
Also, no matter what age, we still have things we can learn...or wish we had a long time ago.
Where band-aids cure bumps, bruises, and The cruel words of best friends, Our days were a series of cuts and scrapes, That would mend, Where bones break, Seldom bend. We learned to accept how fragile and long, We must travel, Before we'd become agile and strong. Tears, A daily accessory, To smiles that met in quick
Though I have just paged through the press released photos and read the story and do feel indeed sick as a result, I imagine I would feel much the same way if we had any such photos of those fallen in this war. Once is becomes a personal glimpse of someone we are mortified. But when we're given simple body count numbers on the evening news we begin to feel very little. Who knows how much more to this story there might be, but for now I wil
What, so no one has any success or failure stories yet? How grotesquely disappointing. Just think of all the money on kleenex we'd save and all the waste we'd cut down on if people didn't need them to blow their noses. Viva la Revolution!
This may be true, but I believe what "war" entails doesn't necessarily have to be a constant theme.
Ahh, now I see "the rainbow connection" between noah and gay pride. The trouble with this whole issue is that what frustrates me most if that we need to discuss it at all. Nobody is telling anyone they have to accept someone's lifestyle be allowing gay "marriage." Through the eyes of the law "marriage" really is little more than a contract between two people. I know this has been discussed in a few other threads, please forgive
I don't think Proof is the final answer to this. I don't think you're ever going to be satisfied in this relationship if you're constantly questioning whether you're being cheated on. Even if you find out for sure that he isn't now you started your relationship with this guy on the basis of him cheating on someone else with you......I think you need to carefully look at those circumstances and determine if this is the kind of guy that can provide a c
Ms. Jones, thanks for bringin' yo ass around....WHAT!
Wait a minute...I didn't say that last post.....boo!
Well gee kingbee, way to suck the fun out of this one. A) Yeah, those rainbow flags and bumper stickers...not just for Rainbow Brite fans anymore. B) Descent from noah and relinquishing his symbol? Did I miss something here? C) And yes, that's primarily the Right I'm referring too, but I don't think most strict constructionist political conservatives would ever admit they would sooner marry their fathers than cede
can i get a second day.....woot woot!
Shame on you for driving...man I would've biked all the way up to park your ass on my handle bars for the ride home....if you would've died I would've killed ya! Or something to that effect. If you can't think of yourself at least think of your population increase duties in the cook islands, all those women walking around happily unpregnant because Chris didn't show up because he was drunk driving...it makes me ill.
