They're both good... use either one. My son was a programmer for McAfee and even while he worked there I still used Norton. He uses Norton now too...

It looks more like powdered sugar than snow... Snow will pile up, drift and have wildly varrying depths with rocks sticking out completely uncovered.  I spend at least a week every year on Mt Shasta, sometimes in the winter when there is snow everywhere like in your image. I've never seen it look like this though. It reminds me of powdered sugar donuts. I happen to love those kind of donuts so I have a better impression of your wallpaper for that. Looks like heaven <img src=
*bump* I'd like to see the answer to this also... now that Component Manager is gone I haven't figured out how to do it either.  The obvious easy answer though is: connect to the web long enough to download all the programs... or... does Stardock offer a CD of all the programs for OD subscribers?
woohoo! congrats Xman!
T Car? They serve tea during a race? how civilized in America the newly formed social strata known as "Nascar Dads" do it differently... they swill beer [Message Edited]
thanks e.man... that's a lot more info than I was aware of...
oh I see... so THAT's how he does it....
I don't know if they're still doing it but the IconPackager files they were "including" were Stardock's Icon Packager format, which TGSoft claimed some eminent-domain type possesion of. I believe they even sued Stardock to stop claiming copyright for the format, even though Stardock created and owned it. Pretty cheeky for a "company" like TGSoft which has never created any software of their own. They are hard to believe... they remind me of a cross between snake-oil salesmen and carp
I hadn't noticed that but now that you point it out I see it's happening on my system too... must be an improvement in WB...  the new jumping scrollbar feature "watch 'em shake!"
Do a google search for stock photos to find lots of sites to download pictures, though I doubt any internet download will be in the BMP format. You'll need to open the JPG in MS Paint and save it as a BMP to convert it.
Does this happen with all winamp avs files? It sounds like a freaky java thing, probably related to using the Sun java VM. I bet it only happens with a certain vis file... does sound pretty neat though
My objection to Style XP (aside from the obvious that it should be free) is that it doesn't improve on the Windows GUI. All you can do is exactly what Luna does, no more, no less.  You can't change border sizes, re-arrange button placement, add other functions, roll-up the window, add plugins like a clock or winamp controls, etc, etc, etc.  Windowblinds is the only one to consider... imho
Nothing supports taskbar skinning for Windows 2k. You have to use Object Bar for that. Sorry if I was confusing. Some older skins have a background tile that gets applied to the taskbar in Win2k. It is NOT taskbar skinning. It's just a bitmap that could even be a solid color. And most new skins wouldn't even have that file included.
my guess is that it needs DX running to write a widget entry in the reg.... once the entry is there it works without DX running... just guessing.
since bootscreens only run on XP what would be the point of making a stock XP bootscreen? seems kinda silly...
is this a trick question? I'd guess longhorn, which should be included with your windowblinds installation.
yer welcome Xav... when stuff doesn't work right just let one of us know...   we'll get stumpy to fix it...
It's the filter, it must be set high right now to help reduce bandwidth.  The solution is don't logoff...
Jungle is in the list now too... check your profile settings, make sure you have the filter set to a low number, like 1...
superman is in the list now.
which skin did you update that didn't show in the update list?
In the older WB skins there are a couple background tiles that don't get used in the newer version. One of these gets used to skin the taskbar in Win98 & 2k. It's just a backgrond tile though, no handles or other stuff.  The buttons are also different than the XP ones, it will use the regular buttons, not special taskbar buttons. All the XP enhancements, Start Menu, Taskbar, Shell styles, etc. are only gonna show up if you're running XP. It's a tribute to WindowBlinds that it h
it's gone.... and so are his posting privliges... thanks for the heads-up.
Reminds me of that quote in the "words" thread...  "Hey wait, there ARE a million monkeys at a million typewriters, but Usenet is nothing like Shakespear."
