hiya sis as long as people realize we don't read every comment on every skin and if someone is offended by something they need to bring it to an admin's attention (email being the prefferred method unless it's dire and then IM is cool) then it should work ok.

UIS1 is a simpler, and therefore more limited, skin format. It's benefit is that it's more compatible with apps that might have trouble with WB skins, like Photoshop. It only allows standard window border sizes (3 or 4 pixels wide) and standard button placement. It's generally believed to be faster too although I'm not sure that's true anymore. I would highly recommend making one as a sub skin, or if your skin design is 'standard' enough just make the main skin a UIS1. It makes a very easy wa

Once you've checked what the actual path is on your machine check in the reg under both HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_LOCAL_USER they both have a "Software" section and there should be a Stardock/Windowblinds section in there. Check under WB.ini for a path statement and just make sure it points to the right path. Also check WB.INI in your Windows folder and see what the path in there is. If you change it in the wb.ini file (use notepad NOT Word) it might change th

btw - when you save a WB skin to your computer you still have to install it, the easy way being double-click on the file. When you do that wbload takes over and installs the skin the correct location. If the location is messed up in the registry you might still have the same problem... I'll see if I can find where it is in the reg for you but re-installing WB might be the easier answer...

Check what the path is to your skins folder and then correct it in the registry. An alternative would be to just turn off the auto install so skins install like in amost other programs where you select the location from a dialog. To do this, go to the file types dialog under Tools/Folder Options/File Types - scroll down and select the .WBA file extension - click on Advanced - check the box that says "confirm Open after download". Then when you download a WB skin it'll go to the standard "sa

the files are the same. That's not some ambiguous inspiration issue, the file was taken from here and used there after a slight shift of the saturation and hue sliders. As for who took it from who I assume the guy who says he did it first is probably telling the truth especially since his file dates are earlier than the other guy's. The fivesballs skins were not WBs so they had no buttons, scrollbars, menus etc. which is the parts that got lifted. I'll gladly stay out of thi

well... I can't attest to the originality of the M3 skin but clearly the PearlBlue one uses lots of the images from the M3 one... and to answer the question asked earlier, no it's not okay to do that without written permission from the person who's work you are including (and recoloring). I'd say PearlBlue author needs to get permission from M3 author. PearlBlue file dates are about 10 days later than M3 file dates.

I missed all of you too... especially you China I know I been gone a long time but I don't want to hijack IR's thread. I'm hoping I can hang around for a while now but I'm sad to see another one of us facing oblivion...

I can relate IR... I wish you the best of luck. I am slowly coming back around after months of self imposed exile. Have been taking jobs at so low a wage I have to work 4 times as long to pay the same bills as a couple years ago. Kinda makes the concept of 'spare time' seem silly. Last April I came within a few days of losing my house so I feel lucky to still be here almost a year later. I've been thinking it might make more sense to move to India and do tech support for $6
