I decided to add a couple smart buttons to the skin I'm just finishing. The URL one seems to want to put an IE icon there instead of my button image. Is there any way around this? The bright blue E looks awful on the dark grey and green skin borders. (and it's too big)

The oldest pet I've had was a big black cat named Strider. He belonged to a friend and followed him to our house one day and decided he would rather live with us, which turned out to be a good thing for everyone because our friend moved to Japan a month later. Strider was about 4 years old when he moved in with us and lived to the age of 17. I'm glad to see several people here have old cats. They develop so much personality as they get older.
The new MS wireless mouse has the ability to turn itself off to conserve the batteries. My Logitech doesn't and stays on even if it's parked in a cardboard box on a cement slab under a ten ton weight. It never goes off. I need to change the batteries in it once a month. I'm getting rid of it - also because it jitters on almost any surface. It's extremely imprecise and jumps a pixel to forty pixels or completely off the screen at the worst moments. I love the wireless idea but the optical part is
cool, thanks for the info
I'm probably the only guy that can't figure this out but... what is the deadline for submissions to the GUI Olympics? I'm working on another skin and I want to fix a couple minor bugs (a pixel or two) in the one I already submitted. I saw it said the judging started Feb. 23rd but frogboy said there were only six days left a few days ago...
It's an odd solution to give two golds for an event, especially after it was decided two judges cheated. The Russian apparently was swapping votes for a competition with a French athelete that comes later. The Russian judge was kicked off the panel at the last Olympics for cheating. This somehow fits perfectly in this Olympics after the scandal of Salt Lake City bribing the committee for the games. I wonder if Enron is the official sponsor....
yep, I agree Einstein... very helpful stuff...
I've been missing China too... and Doreen too... where'd everybody go? I've been off the sites for a few days trying to make a skin... but I should be looking for a job. I got laid-off over a year ago and I just realized how broke I am... now there's 3000 Boeing guys out there looking for work too...
I'll give it a try - I just finished this skin with all the XP stuff and the gazillions of little pieces... whew Maybe I'll make another one after I recover from this...
Happy Birthday Patric! (isn't it tomorrow?) wow - China and Doreen came by for your birthday... cool
Come back and let us know how you like the Mac vs a PC Carlitus... I think a Mac will still let you browse the message board here
I'm just not patient enough to make skin studio work since I've always used notepad. Obviously it works great for everybody else. I didn't mean to imply skin studio is the problem, I know it's just me.
I've been trying to build a skin with notepad because I can't get skin studio to work. I'm still trying to figure out how all new these little gizmos work. It's amazing how much of the interface is skinned now. One question... I can't get the spacer image for the tabs to work on Win2k but it works fine on XP. Is that normal?
very nice! maybe now I can figure out how to do the grip bars and XP stuff....
I use rollup all the time. It's my favorite Windowblinds feature. In fact, the most useful new feature in WB3.x is the ability to change the right-click function so I can use skins by people that don't make right-click do the rollup (I used to go in and edit the UIS to get this).
adni18 - just exclude photoshop in the per app settings.
45 ain't old.... Quincy Jones said it the best: "Inside every 60 year old guy there's a 20 year old saying "wtf happened?" Happy Birthday Bryan!
Sounds like a nice idea, as long as it doesn't trigger an audio file playing "Happy Birthday to youuu..." or anything like that. Wouldn't it require adding a birthday field to the user's account information?
I even dream about it....
But starone is a girl... Happy Birthday JourneyGirl
so.... where's the beef?
Frankly, I'm tired of supporting predatory economics. Distribution of information and communication through the net offer far greater benefits to mankind than a corporate profit agenda can be allowed to supress. It's not realistic to expect a change in global corporate ethics anytime soon but I think it's neccessary and overdue. There is plenty of food in the world to feed everybody, and yet, millions are starving all over the world. The problem is distribution, not the availability.
arrgh - /me sees that winstyles is on the library list... wonders why he never noticed that before...
The skin is "Driftwood" by Dangeruss. Don't know where the wallpaper came from though, sorry...
you might have to right-click and select 'save target as' to make the link work.
