Hmm, no luck it only seems to work properly if I unload WB 7. Joe

I have the latest drivers from the manufacturer and never had trouble with them. All are installed properly with no errors in DXdiag. Dunno what uxtheme.dll is so I doubt I have it installed. Tuneup Utilities, which I recently installed has a service called Theme Enhancer but I turned that off and set it to manual and it's not running. Maybe there is something to that that is loading. I will try uninstalling it and see if that helps. Otherwise you are most likely right and it's a skin
Hi, Is anyone familiar with the WindowBlinds skin called Molten. It used to be one of the included skins in WindowBlinds but now it is only available at the link above. Are you or were you having trouble with it? For some reason when I click all Programs and move my cursor up to click on a shortcut the whole start menu goes blank. Have you found or created a fix? Any ideas would be appreciated. Joe
Is there a way to revert back to IE8? Like uninstalling IE9 on Windows 7? Joe
Not that I recall. I will do a system search to see where that number 251 is coming from. Hey, check out this skin! https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/windowblinds/search/molten Used to be included in WB trial but not there anymore weird. This is actually my favorite. Good thing I thought to search for it. I downloaded the free version of skin studio. I may play with that one a bit to
@Hankers... Gotcha [e digicons];)[/e] So I guess It's a matter of time but for now I can use another browser or put IE9 in the non-skin program list. IE 9 is SOOO slow anyway. I am a huge Microsoft fan and I loved IE8 but I am getting tired of IE9 and it's staggering trying to load and scroll down pages. I also found out the hard way, my Photoshop, either x32 or x64 do not work unless I unload WB7 They do not display any images. Just an FYI for th
Well just what it came with and 2 more that I added. Are there any compatalility issues with IE9 cause I notice it does not skin most of it and what it does is a mess. Joe
OK, Installed Impulse and there was my registered version of WindowBlinds finally! I downloaded it and installed it through Impulse, rebooted and LO and BEHOLD it's finally applying themes! I consider this matter 99.9% fixed. Just one last thing that maybe you can help me with. One in a while, just once in a while. When I have the WB7 selector open it gets VERY VERY slow even to the point where the program says it's not responding. If I wait long enough it seems to catch
Just got a reply from tech support. Said to uninstall Windowsblinds, Go to impulsedriven.com and login. I should see my registration now for WindowBlinds. I DO!! They said to download Impulse install it and then install WB7 through Impulse and it should work OK now. Wish me luck, Joe
Nope this is a fresh intall of Windows. Only the basic Windows Theme stuff is there, MS Office and my Eset Smart Security software. Which I tried even uninstalling to make SURE it was not Smart Security causing the issue. I have basically a virgin Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 install. Thanks for the question, make s me feel like someone is trying to help. Joe
Cool, thanks Hankers! I have friends coming over on Saturday to see this new machine I built and I want to have it all themed out for them to see, I may even get some sales for StarDock of WindowBlinds out of it. Joe
You're right, you're right, but technicality I opened the first ticket on the 21st so I have not been able to activate it for at lease 10 days... anyway you're right I am really not concerned with that right now. I have a family emergency, or I would be asleep right now, and I won't be back to read any posts or ticket replies until the afternoon tomorrow. If you could just put another bug in the techs ears that I posted more here and in the ticket I woul
Well g'night all. Still had no word back today. I hope when this is fixed they reset my start date to the 18th cause that's when I bought it and have not been able to get it going yet. Joe
Quoting joelore, reply 58 It's the not knowing what or if anyone is doing anything that is driving me crazy. Problem is they're doing too much... simply swamped. We'll buzz them in the a.m. But please, keep on top of the answers.
What answers? There have been 2 in a whole week. One telling me where to go download the paid version of WB7, which is not my problem, and the second asking for a screensho
I see. Well at your suggestion I put a compilation of what I have tried in the ticket. I hope that helps them. I talked to someone on another board, I've been to so many I can't even remember which one, bleeping computers I think or NeoWin. Anyway he had the EXACT same problem. Fresh install of Windows and WindowBlinds asked for activation info several times and would not apply any themes. Turned out the program was not being activated properly. Not sure if the server was reje
Well another day and no progress. In the meantime I got 3 emails from other companies tech support about completely unrelated issues at least telling me the status of my tickets. It's the not knowing what or if anyone is doing anything that is driving me crazy. Joe
I just added that information in the ticket. I also mentioned that just after the first reboot there is a sig7.bin file in both the WindowBlinds 7 folder AND the root C:\ folder wondering if those could be getting Corrupt...?? joe
No I will do that now.
Hi guys, Believe me I am not being impatient here. I am resolved to let tech support just do their job. BUT I read something somewhere in the StarDock site that had me concerned. Since I have tried time and time again to activate does this apply to me? "There are reasonable limits on how often you can activate a given product to help deter piracy" I have saved all my registration emails and site information in 3 PDF files if you think I should post them to help tech support. A
Okie. I have tried everything I can think of anyway. I will now wait for tech support to fix this issue. As I said though I hope they just don't keep sending me those form letters telling me where to download the software and get my serial number. I followed those instructions many times cause they keep sending them to me. Thank you for all your help. BTW, my wife does not think I look like Billy Crystal at all.... LOL Joe
I thought it was worth a try so I uninstalled my Anti-virus program because there is no real way to turn it off completely unless you uninstall it. I use Eset's Smart Security. But no luck, still does not work. Joe
Hi, Something I thought of to check that may help the techs. When I first install WB 7 and it runs immediately after the install it asks me for my reg info and seems to take it OK. I looked at the "about" right away and this is what I see: Then I reboot and WB 7 does not load in the system tray as it is supposed to. So
LOL! Now that you mention it I do kinda look like him if you look fast. Kind of makes you do a double take.... hehe Anyway That did not work. Having the same problem and just restored to my pristine system state so the techs have a good clean slate to work with. THere is still that pesky Web Blinds process that shows up in Zapper. As soon as I stop it and refresh the zapper screen it comes right back. I exhausted searching for ANYTHIN ressembling
Hankers , There was one wierd thing I saw that I wanted to let you know about before I tried the reinstall. WHen I ran zapper it showed nothing to uninstall but there was one thing called Web Blinds in the "unload"tab of zapper and it keeps coming back. Every time I run zapper, just to check, it's ba
BTW, how do you like the new forum picture, pretty ugly huh... lol Joe
