It has nothing to do with cookies - I can't download anything that the speed hasnt been 1.2 - 1 .5 kbs for weeks. I had to get someone else to download a file that was only 4.5 mbs cos it kept resetting back to zero for me. ( I have dial-up ) This person had DSL and the download speed was only 35 kbs/sec for them - hardly the speed for DSL. I gave up downloading much for now.
Fairyy~
There is a thread..(Please, check that link) for the few, the proud, the rejected called The Personal Page Elite, where you can post links to your work, bitch about it, or just get tips and advice, whatever. You're welcome to put your two cents in there anytime. Yeah, you get a cool medallion too ( winky winky )
Fianlly! I have been up for 48 hours waiting to add the link to my skin. Nows I's can sleep? Your too funny !! Yes...you may put out the lights now.
Thats all I needed to do was change the skin name and upload went right to gallery this time. Thanks Dean..
Fairyy~, The upload process uses your Skin Name to determine if it is an update or not. So if you want to upload the same files, but not have it be considered an update, you need to change the Skin Name, not the actual file names. The file names can stay the same. Dean I just relised this Dean before I read this and had already deleted the file again. I was changing the file name and preview name but not the actual name of the wi
File in moderation and preview available ! Seems to work now... Well only problem is .... I uploaded my file for the 4th time with a renamed file and renamed preview so it wouldnt conflict with any of the previous uploads. So it should of gone right through due to journeyman status. But, final screen said : Your DesktopX Widgets skin is being processed. Please allow approximately 5 days for it to show up, as al
Has this issue been resolved ? I've deleted my file and preview for the 3rd time and I don't want to upload it again if there is still a problem with uploads being in Processing limbo.
Is that happening to others? It happens... Hopefully they will include a save configuration feature in future update.
Looks like a wait for Stardock to fix it unfortunately Not much anyone can do till Monday, again, thank you for your assistance
Karen, You're not alone ... well..guess we just wait till someone fixes it. But at least its not just me this time
Well...I deleted the original zip and the preview and uploaded a new renamed zip and renamed preview ( using the old upload link this time) . The upload went smoothly, and at the end it said it was approved and would be on site in 1 minute. Well, back to where I started , the new zip is now listed in my drop down list as in " processing " again. I can see the preview so Im not sure whats wrong this time. Let me know if I should delete it again or just wait...<b
Richard , Im going through the same thing since 7am. I gave up and deleted the whole file and just now re-uploaded it with a new file name and new preview name. It said the upload was auto approved. ( I used old upload link this time ) and its still not showing on the site and is listed in my skin list drop down list as " in processing " So Im back to where I started at 7am this morning.
Try a fresh upload, might work... Which upload page are you using, old or new? I used the new one - but usually if thats not working I go to old upload page . The new upload page lied to my sqiggle and said it went through Ok..deleting it and will try to upload through old page then if that fails me and my squiggle are going home. Thanks for
If it's a re-upload due to system failure it's probably being 'seen' as an update...which all go through moderation...hence the 5 days thingie I understand that ..but it went to mod queue the first time I uploaded it - I couldnt find it, Michael told me it was there. Should I just delete the whole thing and start over ?
Ive uploaded the file twice and its still not showing anywhere ..what now ?
Ok, I've re-uploaded the file as well as the preview - it appears to have uploaded properly. Im not sure why it says I have to wait 5 days for my upload to be processed. Is this just a fluke that the site is not recognising my Journeyman status at the moment ? Once again, thank you for your help Michael. I appreciate it.
Oops, looks like the download is borked too loud sigh... brb hopefully today ...
Yes, just the preview Done Hopefully that will take me out of the process cheese room Thanks again Sleepydawg, you like everything anyway
It's gone to limbo It's in a place called 'In Processing', whatever that is. I can see the screenshot failed though, so you will need to update that. Moving it into the moderation queue now pending your update I just need to upload the preview again ? I hope so because the widget file takes 13 minutes ( if Im lucky ) to upload again. Thank you Michael.
I've had problems uploading to the site for a few weeks now, but as luck would have it, today the upload went without a hitch. The progress bar showed a steady upload and the end result was " upload complete " I got the final screen that says " Because of your user status your upload will appear in one minute " Its been 40 minutes + I've exited site and deleted all cookies and temp files. The upload is nowhere to be found. Its not even showing in my own personal Gallery. <br/
Kudos to all this week featured in Island Dogs round up Great stuff !
Thanks for the links - nice windowblinds on this site .. Im not one to go looking around for stuff so its great when you get the heads up
Im not sure what your looking to do..I just clicked on your profile and you pretty much have your WC site set up. On your profile you will see tabs - click on gallery tab and you will see all the wallpapers you have submitted. If something doesnt go in main gallery they usually will send it to be in your personal gallery . You can upload stuff and just check off the box " Personal page only " if you just want it on WC personal site.
I normally do not have the application open that im doing upgrade on - But I learned from past experience that RC needs to be left running
Fairyy, One thing that you could try doing during a download or an upload is set a constant ping to a site like Google. If you open a command prompt and type "ping www.google.com -t" then hit enter, it will continuously ping google until you tell it to stop (ctrl + C will cancel the ping). If you receive any timeouts, this will indicate that your connection has dropped momentarily. It is possible for your connection can drop without needin
