DesktopX will load whatever theme you ran last unless you clear desktop before you unload desktopX . while in desktopX builder mode - select "new desktop " " Save current changes " - no " "reset desktop settings - yes " then only desktopx will turn on with no theme until you apply one. This is for desktopx version 3.1 If your using a demo version im not sure it works the same way.
Turn on desktopX - right click on icon in sys tray - select " configure desktopx " > Preference tab > tic off " run automatically when windows start "
The previous suggestion to uncheck the "Lock Desktop Items" works beautifully! I was getting really tired of the ugly icons. Yeah- its so easy to accidently check that off - im always checking off to " hide " my icons.

ok..who fixed it..... this time when I uploaded it - page changed but stayed a blank white page- cursor spun for 15 minutes then I got bored so I hit reload - I got the " post data message and do you want to retry click ok " so I did and presto ...avetar uploaded.....only problem ..wasnt exactly the one I wanted. sigh....but for now..ill just leave it. PS : I changed the file name to just " avetar " just in case . Both had " fairyy " as the beginning of file name - not sure it mat

The past 2 days have been painfully slow for me also - I've had trouble getting off the main page and the page half loads then just stops - i have to hit reload. As of yesterday I am only able to see the forum while using IE6. I just get blank white pages with my Firefox. Cindi - have you updated FF browser to the current version ? I was having same problem - updating solved it. I can now access forum with Firefox. I can insert images and quote option now works.

everyone is misconstrueing my words, I pointed out one skin that I personally did'nt like to make an example of what I was explaining, however that was my opinion. My kids liked it so I downloaded the skin and put it on my children's computer, also my wife's system too, it just did'nt meet my expectations. You can save it as a sub style of the same blind. I like to just separate them. Go up top to " File " Save as : rename your compact - hit " ok " after you save blind when you open WB config its usually not there until you hit the " Rebuild List " then it will be.
Thanks for the info and screenshots. Many blinds give the option of a compact menu, but like the one I'm using now (JosephArt) my start menu is still a full menu even though I chose the compact substyle. Am I missing something here? Sometimes that happens to me when I change blinds. Usually rebooting fixes it.

You know Ramesese- you may think the way you wrote this was constructive critisism - but in reality it came across as rude and pompous. First of all - this site isnt made up of just " men " Lots of women here and we like little fishies and pretty colours on our wb's. So just because you dont like them doesnt mean they are substandard- you made the statement that you take pride in your work and you get paid for it. When you start paying a skinner fot their 4 weeks of work tossing little " bars "
They dont always show the compact in a preview. Its a lot narrower that the full menu. I will only use the compact size. If a blind doesnt have one its easy enough to make one yourself using Skin Studio. Its just a simple matter of changing the user pane margin ( if its 360 - I try 250 ) Its just a matter of preference - some hate compact size.
