I am very glad that you guys found this funny. I'm also relieved that my boss found it amusing as well. We took personality tests yesterday. The description on mine stated that I was "schedule oriented." My boss nearly fell off his chair laughing when he read that. Hmm...maybe I should work on that! I still haven't found the time to buy an alarm clock. Today. I will buy

If I see one more person on this website writing "Iraqi's" instead of "Iraqis" (mutters to self angrily). That's driven me to the edge on a number of occassions as well. But worse than that, it's a habit I have started to pick up. I found myself typing "American's" the other day--and I wasn't talking
alright Mug... since we're all playing the hypothetical game, and drawing up these scenarios, let me ask you this: what would you have the U.S. do in response to 9/11? Since you're not in favor of us removing Saddam from power, or hunting down Bin Laden, what is it that you would have us do instead?
VES: My article was about Nelson Mandela , he was considered a terrorist by the US government. It's not about Iraq. Please focus your comments to the topic at hand. Also, I do not ever state that al Qaeda are freedom fighters,if you think I did, I urge you to re-read. I encourage you to post a comment relevant to what has been said. There are plenty of places for you to discuss the war
One more thing, I suspect the labels may shift from terrorist to freedom fighters depending on whether the tactics are successful or not. good point...the victors write history. Thanks for the comments. I agree that terrorism comes in many forms, and that the definition was way too narrow. This blog started as a comment on
uh...sure, Muggaz...whatever you want to believe!
even though I dont have a God, I know you do I do?
I wrote that in Northern Ireland I was told: "yes, it's a very sad day, but now you know how we feel, what we've been going through." Gerry Attrick wrote that a Peruvian friend told him: "Its sa
The main point I am emphasising is one rule for USA, and another for the rest of the world. People like BakerStreet mention that terrorists should go on hunger strikes... If pakistan sent some troops and desicrated the USA, would the people of USA sit on their hands and starve to death? Let's not mention the fact that hunger strikes get you
While we're on implausible scenarios, imagine this one: Aliens come to Earth, capture Mugaz, upgrade his brain to one that can make a coherent argument and suddenly he moves up from being community jester to serious intellectual. Brad--that was a bit harsh, don't you think? Really, name calling should be beneath you. Last time
I don't think it is simply perspective, I think it is knowledge and understanding have a lot to do with it. After all, it is only with knowledge and understanding that our perspective changes. I'm just tired of seeing the blame game, as it is not going to solve anything. Is it the terrorists fault or the fault of the country/people being terrorized? Quite frankly, it really doesn't matter. What matters is why? Why are the terrorist acting the way they
There seems to be one rule for the USA, and another rule for the rest of the world... Muggaz, please refrain from painting all us Americans with the same brushstroke. We don't all hold America to different standards than the rest of the world. We don't all think that lashing out and attacking is/was the best
I am now a Weight Watchers follower I hope Weight Watchers works for you; it certainly allows greater variety than Atkins. However, I urge you to please resist the overwhelming temptation to tell everyone else how many points the banana, chocolate bar, slice of pizza, diet coke...whatever, they are eating amounts to. A friend on
That certainly made me laugh. There are many people who need to receive your speech. Should I go get the mic for you?
Nicky, you and your grandmother are in my thoughts.
Jess: If it's any consolation, I do read your blogs, but as of late, all of my commenting has been minimal. Keep on writing, and if I think of anything profound to say, I'll contribute!
Trina: I think Guy sang the Angel song, but I agree with Jamie...it did nothing for me. Actually I feel asleep and missed the ending...oops!
Recently, in another blog, terrorists were defined as "people who set off to murder as many innocents as they can -- with the goal being quantity of murders." Based on this definition, the blogger argued that Nelson Mandela was not considered a terrorist. But the definition is flawed. By this definition, the IRA are also not a terrorist organization, be
I hate to be the pessimist, but my impression was that he was pleading guilty and accepting responsibility as part of a plea bargain. His goal was to get a reduced sentence and the oportunity to stay in the military. In return, he would testify against his fellow soldiers. I'm not sure how commendable I think taking responsbility is when you are doing it to save your own backside while hanging others out to dry. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColo
Never, I repeat, never use your cell phone as your alarm clock. Many months ago, my alarm clock broke. My frugal side has prevented me from purchasing another alarm clock because my cell phone has an alarm function that works perfectly well. So each night, I plug in my phone to recharge, set the alarm for the next morning, and lay it on the top part of my bed next to my pillow. This ritual has worked surprisingly well. Tha
Nicky, I concur. I found Jepel's assessment very interesting, and it clearly took a lot of work and effort. I've also been amazed at the changes in the top ten list, and I definitely found some interesting new bloggers. Interesting article!
Nicky: I find myself doing the same thing. I often have to return and delete all the dots and form coherent setences. My emails are the worst for the trailing dot syndrome!
I think they should recruit some male cheerleaders. Now that would be funny!
Notsohighlyevolved: But there is also, what I fondly refer to as, "The Harvard Comma." I'm not sure what the Australian term for it would be. It's the comma that sometimes comes after the "and" in a list. For example, there is no set law on how to write "blue, black, and white." It could also be written "blue, black and white." The first example employs the Harvard Comma, called thus because pretenious Harvardites insist on its use an
You both might be interested in the book Eats, Shoots and Leaves . It's by a British author and has been on the bestseller list in the UK and US since Christmas (I think). I would say that is a pretty amazing acheivement for a grammar book in this day and age! It's very amusing. I'm only half way done, but have had a few good chuckles. The author (whose name I can't remember) does an excellent job of explaining why grammar rules exist and when to use t
