I use various cursors.. And, about as often as not I'll find myself going back to a native installed one that's not in CFX format ..until I'm ready for a change and may end up back in CursorFX or not. The ones I choose, regardless of platform all seem to have certain balance to the main pointer, the I-beam text cursor ..just cannot abide many which cover more than a sliver of my text area when I'm using editing mode of anything.. and then the link cursor.. It pretty much needs to be in

I'm hoping that Stardock will now spend some time redoing CursorFX to work properly in Windows 10. I've been using this for so many years that it was downright difficult when I had to disable it. For now, I've had to buy a few custom cursors that work in the native windows mouse formats so, am getting by with nice, even with smooth, detailed animation ..but, it's still not the same level of functionality & features that CursorXP/CursorFX have so, lacking anything truly special.
I upgraded to the latest DeskScapes 10 and, this one hasn't crashed.! Now, if some of the actual coders out there would create some dynamic dreams instead of having regular walls & vid-loops to select from.. Then I'd really start to get excited. I'm a big fan of generated screensavers & have used from the Really Slick 2.0 group for years for screensavers, that is.. along with old classics like 3D Vivid Sparks & Flurry .. have to include the best version of mystify, cal
Ah, I misunderstood. I thought it was the background/wallpaper after turning Deskscapes off. My bad.
The good ol standard .. IrfanView, also lets you set an image as your basic Windows wallpaper too. When you're viewing an image, click the Options menu at the top and near the bottom you'll see.. Set as Wallpaper > (sub-menu has various ways to set it as wallpaper). I know a few people who'd never even think of doing it another way since it's their main image viewer/converter/etc. Hope that helps with your dilemma. Let us know. Ah, I know that Win10 has a separate
That's a nice desktop. Reminds me of the days when I was using Konfabulator .. sure wish that Yahoo hadn't taken it and then tossed it by the side of the road but, that's what happens when non-techs get into things they should stay out of. I'm definitely having a look at their site now and trying out the dock already. I like that it had a matching skin for the old wblinds I'm using again after having forgotten about it.. the Dragon theme. I had to redesign the start
I've just downloaded a copy to give it a check too. I do realize that Stardock is focusing a lot of their energy on this new gaming engine that actually sounds kinda revolutionary. But, not being a big gamer, I'm only somewhat interested in that side of their business at present. Yeah, I said it out loud.. I'm not a big gamer. *chuckling Oh well. Thanks for the pointer.. I'll be having a good look at the Nexus dock. It sounds pretty amazing in it's own righ
You're right on those points there. I still use RocketDock as my bottom dock and have been trying out ObjectDock since it decided to work for me.. as a top dock. I'm not using the reflections or any live features of it though since I suspected those had to do with my prior issues running it. And, I agree that it's been frustrating not having development continue for Win10. I had to stop using CursorFX for that reason and have just gone to using mouse pointers that ca
Make sure you're using the newest OD release or it won't work right.. and, of course, graphics drivers up to date & windows. I just recently swapped from a geforce gtx960 to a 1060 and *fingers crossed, it's working without a hitch. I had not been able to use it in the past but, somewhere along the way those issues were updated well enough to have it running fine again. Hope that helps.. let us know.
If they, like me, purchased WindowBlinds separately from the Object Desktop Subscription, then they should be able to use the original purchase info to get it working on it's own again. I had to do that when I dropped my subscription and now keep all of my software registered individually and won't go through that again with the "subscription plan". I'm not a fan of software by subscription when it comes to anything outside a game, streaming service or things of that nature. D
I never did get it to work on my system, unfortunately. But, it sounds like it's going to require a significant remake to work in the new versions so, there's hope again. I'm sorry to see how many of you are having difficulties with it since the last major update in Windows 10 but, we can hope it will mean that a much more stable product will be released before long. Be sure to submit your technical support requests on them, and explain in as much detail bo
I'm happy to hear it's working in your situation. I sure wish that had worked for mine. ;-) And, I'm going to give it another go before long. Download all the current versions of my various Stardock current licenses and make sure all my drivers are up to date and try again. But, congrats on yours working properly with your config.! Happy New Year too.! ~Myr
I had to go ahead and uninstall it (DeskScapes) for now. I'm sure they must be trying to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it with an updated release. That's the best advice I can offer you guys right now though. Just remove it, reinstall any other things that may get messed up .. in my case, I had to reinstall Fences to get it to go back to behaving normally after removing DeskScapes .. and just get your favorite wallpaper back for the time-being. <
Well, I didn't experience any of the issues you have mentioned thus far. However, it kinda totally messed up my Fences. Icons seemingly disconnected from their fence and appearing on the desktop when the fences were hidden.. not that they worked.. they appeared to be a screenshot of my icons and were non-functional. All I tried was applying snow effect to my existing static wallpaper. *rolls eyes .. it's ok but, I think I will wait to reinstall it once ther
I think these ie privacy warnings I'm seeing come up and vanish from Fences may have something to do with it. Its beyond me why Fences is generating up to 7 privacy warnings which then vanish about as quickly as they appeared. They have to do with cookies being made .. I've no idea why a desktop organization program is futzing around with cookies or making these communications on a regular basis but, I don't think I like this behavior. It may be these are showing up
I do use Audacity for editing and think it's great. When I'm ripping Audio CDs I use WinAmp though .. yes, I even paid for it... many years ago. It's a pay once program, like DivX .. I like to support pay once, free upgrades forever. Here it is Christmas Eve so, Merry Christmas.!.! and a Happy New Year.!!
I am also having to apply a 2nd time to get my cursor applied. I'm using v2.01 and it's not the free version, I upgraded from my cursorXPplus and while it's not that big a deal ..it's inconvenient to have to open the software, find the new cursor I want and click apply again. CursorXP and the earlier versions of CursorFX work great and its a great program. I'd never go back to the standard ani / win cursors. But, I don't have time to read the entire message list here either to see what po
[font="Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif"]Having switched to a new hard drive recently, I've gotten the same messages. In my case it turns out that its a permission/security issue. Having to go in and take ownership of files & folders as I need them before I can do anything with 'em. Theoretically, when I changed the permissions on the drive itself & subfolders & contents, it should have done everything but that didn't work anywhere near what it should've. So, you can have the same trouble from
Browse X-( :::::::::: Where's the Browse button.?? That's what I have been looking for. I like to download any sort of skin into my repository and then install it into the app.. In CxpPlus I used the Browse button to load new ones in. > Can't Browse since upgrading to CursorFXplus hmmph.!
I'm using v116 of SeaMonkey and wb601 in xp (home) and not having any trouble. But, one thing I do whenever I upgrade the browser is first change back to the 'modern' theme and delete my added ones.. like iCandy jr and Orbit. Then, after updating I go and get the latest versions of the themes again. Don't know if that'll help. It could always be a FFx issue I guess that hasn't cropped up in SeaMonkey...?.. But, I don't install the nightly versions on my browser althou
Thanks for the info Zubazz .! I'd gotten rid of those referring to ie or oe and created shortcuts to IrfanView using some png's I had come across. Probably the worst memory offenders were the analog clock and the weather since they were the 'live' ones. However, they came with the installation set when ObjDockPlus was installed.. Just have to use widgets for the live things and stick to shortcuts on the Dock I'm guessing. Thanks for the tip Seabass6.7 .!<
I recently added ObjectDock Plus to my purchases from StarDock/WinCustomize. I didn't notice this behaviour while using the free version but, after going to ObjDock Plus, I'd come out of some app which'd been in fullscreen mode.. usually Mozilla-SeaMonkey or OpenOfficeOrg to find that ObjectDock had closed without any error, notification or other hint that something was goin' on. I've been using the version which was current on 1-June-07. Now, I've just abandoned it for now bec
One thing that strikes me a bit odd 'bout all this WGA biznezz .. If my pc isn't illegal the 1st time its verified then how likely is it that the next day, week, month or year that my xp will become pirated.? So, I get the feeling that good 'ol Microsoft is giving me an endless number of chances to magically go from being a legitimate and licensed customer to being a pirated and hacked windows xp unlicensed user. What's wrong with
My concern is more in relation to the support that Intel/ATI customers will get as the focus changes. I can already hear the youngsters saying how that won't happen but, its happenned in the past and I don't believe the situation has changed that much in just a few years. Now with AMD in the driver's seat of all that is ATI, they are in the perfect position to subtly see 'bout shifting attitudes toward Intel by driver updates, little bits in the rele
You should probably go through the skins over at Real first.. These days only 2 players really get skinning attention in the community though, WinAmp and Windows MediaPlayer. I used to like Real player but, due to the way they have the volume control tied to the master volume or wav volume now I tend to avoid it more.. paid for real too. But, now prefer WinAmp for the most part. Real Skins list link; http://home.real.com/r1central/?subsection
