By the way, based on an earlier post (that I'll probably live to regret), your Jedi rank also entitles you to a custom lightsaber handle, as well as blade color. You might want to check out this photo that I pieced together after scouring the web.

Not to be disrespectful to the Jedi art of lightsaber building (thanks for the link) but I notice that on most of those models the 'on/off' button seems to be quite a protuberence!

Do you Jedi ever have any problems with your sabers switching on or off at awkward times . . . ?

Bah! The switches are an old Jedi trick to make an opponent think there is a switch. They all know that they can activate and de-activate the weapon using the Force if they wanted to. It is just funner to give any opponent a perceived weakness to exploit.

hehehe.... i can imagine it now... like the old western gunfighters.. shooting off their toes while drawing their guns... LOL

OOPS!!!!! dang.... I loose more toes every time i practice the quick draw .... LOL

Soon they won't have a leg to stand on... LOL

Qui-Gon, if you want the cool "Qui-Gon" handle, I can change the standard JR saber to the good old Episode IV "flashlight" version to set yours apart. It's not really much more work than giving a special one to an individual.

And KEmperor, I have a pretty good idea what you have in mind for yours...

I see ANZAC has sailed into 6th place ahead of us. No doubt, they have resubmitted some old games with the latest beta in order to benefit from the scoring increase for harder levels.

Any Jedi/Sith who have the beta are encouraged to do so as well. If you don't have the beta, hang onto any saved games that you may want to re-submit once the free expansion pack is available in a couple of weeks.

I remember the knight-on-knight duel in BattleChess 4000 (an old sci-fi version). Normally, they use blasters, but in this case, they draw lightsabers. The duel goes on for a while, then one guys smacks the other's lightsaber away and the loser hits the ground. The winner raises his saber and is about to smash when the batteries fall out. He looks down at the batteries. The "loser" watches for a moment, then draws his blaster and shoots the other guy.

Regarding re-submitting scores - So much talk about cheese tactics lately has me thinking ethics. I could probably dig out a few saves, but I'd rather just start from scratch. If the new beta is out, a fresh Painful should score pretty well for me, especially as I've only turned in 1 game in the past month. Might even give Crippling another shot, even though the last one had me hanging on by my fingernails.

The wooden hull on that ANZAC ship should make a great target for proton torpedoes. Where's X-Wing Sierra?

KEmperor, there is no set formula for promotions that anybody has verified. Helping out people in a bind and general contributions to the atmosphere and community seems to have an effect. But mostly, one needs to be noticed doing these things by Stardock. StBlasius, for example, is a Diplomat already - the related comments are a few pages back, I believe.

(I find it suspicious that after being here for a few months, I was promoted less than 24 hours after offering Cari chocolate. Hmmm... )

As our first Sith Master, you deserve a creative saber. If you have no suggestions, I'll come up with something and see if you approve.

All: I don't know how much time I'll be able to spend in here over the Labor Day weekend, what with family commitments. If you have time for GalCiv, let's give those ANZACs a run for their money and take our old spot back!
