I had evacuated the entire population when they took over my system so I think it just takes several months for them to appear. I think this will happen regardless of the system population. :notsure:

Ray - Thanks for the correction in the Bug thread. That was my assumptiono many t, although it seemed weird that so many techs that I normally grab were unavailable...

Therefore I have the following question:

If you slip-slide around with your alignment you can pick up all the techs... or is it current alignment at the moment you start research of any given tech that counts? My usual game is one were I drop to evil rather quickly and then claw my way back to good before the game ends, how does this affect research?

Yes, you can basically pick up every single alignment tech by changing your alignment over the course of the game. However, it gets really tedious to get both Galactic Pacifism and Domination as they are right at the end of the tech tree and they have 10 and 90 alignment requirements.

If you are asking about a situation where you move your alignment beyond the threshold while still researching an alignment tech (eg, alignment drops to 69 while researching Hyper Warp), I didn't really take note. I suppose your research gets dropped.

The problem I have with alignment techs is that I noticed that AIs get to build trade centres once the human researches The Better Way.

No mention that it has being fixed. I haven't had the chance to check this again as I've not been Pure Good for a while.

I have also seen research centers already built on planets flipping to me despite the fact that I am the only empire with Terracomputers. It looks like the routine to check what to build next is, hum, faulty.

The "Sharing Technologies" UP bug seems like a major one if it forces a reboot, JaxomCA.

I wonder if we can just delete that UP event until Stardock fixes it.

First, I'm happy to report that Stardock has fixed my profile picture which I have been unable to do. Something is wrong with my account over at wincustomize.com, so that was the only way to do it. Thanks again, Patrick Ford!

I downloaded 1.13 last night and played a little, though not much. Nothing crashed so I'm happy so far! Real life is kicking my donkey lately and I'm lucky to have enough time to play a few turns. This is going to change very soon, however. My wife and daughter are going to the doctor today and by God, they better get something to fix them up!

Oh, looky...more snow falling. When I was a kid, I loved snow because it got me out of school and I could play in it. Now that I'm an adult, I hate snow. The white crap just means terrible traffic, shoveling, and muddy floors.

Yes, very nasty. I think deleting this issue would solve it for now. I won't miss it since it usually favors the player, not the AI.

I'm pretty sure the computer uses your (Governor Ford's) build queue.

I played a little 1.13 last night, too. My impression was that it was significantly harder, but since it was just a fraction of one game it could easily have been luck. The AI beat me to several wonders that I usually get, and seemed to be teching faster. But Stardock says nothing was changed, so it's probably just coincidence.

I saw ROTK last night! It was great--the best of the series imo.

I'm looking forward to seeing it!

I'm gonna hold off on 1.13 Once I'm sure it's less buggy than what I have, I'll go with it.

Stopped by to say Merry Christmas. It's time for the annual orgy of 24/7 football (American style) known as the bowl season......
Football (euro style) is far more enjoyable played than watched.
Although come to think of it, American style is far more enjoyable watched than played. A 350 pound lineman ripping into my exposed ribs from the side with 4.8 speed with a crash helmet as a weapon doesn't sound all that appealing.

I actually don't mind watching the World Cup, but I enjoyed playing soccer very much as well.
