A detour - a side plot to killa-koala quest

The agent eyed the meter on his spaceship dashboard warily. It was pointing to 150% engine efficency, very deep into the red zone. In fact, it was the maximum setting. The agent could imagine how the little needle strive to go beyond 150%, how it long for higher settings to exist so it could point to them and warn of the impending doom. The engineers never considered an engine could be so tweaked. Verily, Lord Orpon's scientists did their job well. The engine is still working. For how long, however, is anyone guess. But then, the agent liked going fast. Very fast.

The EU space police is undoubtfully already in pursuit, but the agent had clearence. Right from the top, from the current president of the union, one G-Force. The agent did not know why g-force summoned him so urgently to Geneva, but any excuse to top the speed on his personal Excalibur is good enough, breaking even the 20 parsec per month limit.

Clearence to Earth, the homeworld of humanity and the capitol of the Earth alliance (after the Fellowship has been exiled to Moria-7b and the Jedi Republic left for a galaxy far, fat away), usually takes quite some time. After all, europeans love bureaucracy. Usually landing requires at least three cavitiy searchs. On usual days the agent was quite looking forward to those cavity searchs, the only reason why Scandanvian countries were ever included in the union. But Olga will have to wait.

Getting into the EU palace was also not an easy task. Usually it required many inspections and checking of papers. This time the agent simply turned on his force field and went in. It was quite merry in there, but happily only two soldiers were hurt.

"You called, my lord?"

"Ah, yes. Harel. Do come in".

The senator social club was empty now, the refined mahogony table almost seems desolate which just the two of them alone in the vast chamber. With all the peons sent to glasgow, G-force filled the agent's cup of whiskey quitely and without fuss. After all, making fuss is not refined.

"You see old chap, it seems we have a bit of a conadrum. This is a new band of riff-raff, totally plebian people. Awful people, really. Hired guns."

"Mercenries? Really? That's unusual".

"Quite so, quite so. Nevertheless, mercenraies they are. They wished to tend their services to us for a tidy sum of money."

"Well, that may be advisible. You do know the Jedi's might return some day".

"Push-tosh. Jedi's. Silly people, really. Robes and what not. Going around holding their swords like it's their wankers. Filled with magical germs. Totally unhygenic".

[sigh] "Of course, lord. But surely this is not why you summoned me?"

"Oh, no, no. How silly of me. It's just that, you see chap, one of those mercenries... it's your old friend koala".

[raised brow] "My lord must be joking".

"No, no, our intelligence reports are quite complete. hrmm. Yes, it says here that "a small midget of an overlord, smelling strongly of cheap beverage". Did you not boil him in beer?"

"Yes, Sir. I did so myself. It was Bluesteel reciepe. It was done after the "locked-in-a-cage" fiasco."

"Quite so, quite so. Well, it seems he is back".

"Very well, Sir. I shall go and fetch my budwieser."

"So kind of you. On your way out, could you please dispose of his peon? He seem to have locked himself in the closet, all trembling".

"I am not a garba... on, never mind. You do pay me well enough. Come along, you."

what do you really think about the new smudge, I mean badge.

It was obviously a foolish attempt to try and trick people into thinking you had changed bases. Hah! Gerakken is not fooled by a simple repainting job. Mark yourselves as you wish, but I know what goes on inside the heart of this insane empire of elite operatives. Just don't ask me to explain it to a "normal" person. LOL

Ok - I hear you about the Medal! It does look too blah on the forums, although it really did catch me eye at a decent size. God forbid I would upset our dear friend MM77 :) I'm at work at present, I'll change it when I get home. Quack - I visited the site you recommneded and got them from there; no need to email me anything or do any more work on your part.

Former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad today pointed out that Australia had consistently lied about not being puppet sheriffs of evil America. He now had further evidence, not that he needed evidence, of 'Special Forces' being established with its trademark being a Sheriff's badge which was a U.S. Congressional medal. What next, he asked. Will they deny being animals as well?

Sorry for introducing some RL politics. I couldn't resist. The SF aren't Aussie either.

Um, I watched Casablanca again and noted a character referred to the black pianist as a 'boy'. I realised that I often refer to guys as boys. Is this a no-no in America? :notsure:

(transmitting through covert channels)

While on leave waiting for the birth of my child, I've been passivly hearing of the disarray of the Jedi Republic. Not liking the course the Republic is taking, I'm considering other "career opportunities".

I had been devleoping plans for the 1st Space Assualt division for the Republic. Plans that have not as of yet been disclosed to the Republc. A force of this type needs to be handled responsably.

I don't believe that the Jedi Republic is the right place for such a force. If the Special Forces have a use for such a force, I'd be happy to provide a further detail plan for the force.

....oh did I mention, I can provide gallons of home made beer? :CONGRAT: ;)

Boy is a racial slur here. Whites pre, during, and post slavery routinely called grown black men boy instead of by their name.

But it is ok to say I'm hanging with my boys (plural) or I'm goin drinkin with the boys (plural)

Thank heavens. I suddenly recall an infamous moment at an Australian Showbiz Award ceremony many years ago when the MC was talking to Mohammed Ali on stage and national television. Now, this compere was a comedian, and his best loved line was to say of someone, "I like the boy". After a while, the MC turned to the audience and said ...

Now that was a true clash of cultures.

OK - this icon is the Silver Star. Actually, this is the first one to look good on the forums as well as the big board.

And I have just logged on to discover the death of the ANZAC Republicans.

Minion looked around with a puzzled look, the lobby of this place was a frightful mess. A bunch animals slouched in a sofa, looking bored. After a few minutes they noticed him and a purple duck ambled over.

TQ: Can I help you?

M: I have three cases of schnapps for a ...uh... Obee-Waun-Kejnåbi? Compliments of Lord Orpon. He says "Good luck on your new assignment, just remember not to Force it."

TQ: Obi-Wan is otherwise occupied at the moment, but I'll sign for it.

M. Uh, ok.

Minion left in a hurry. Since signing on as Lord Orpons personal servant he'd gotten the weirdest assignments, this had to be a topper...

Hurls!

Visit our Empire page at http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/empires.asp?id=599 and click on the "Join Empire" icon. This generates an email to Wombie with your request...but it comes from GalCiv with your account info, so he can sign you up.

You can edit the email as well. Complimenting Wombie on how svelte his fur looks these days, asking for a mailing address for a case of Foster's, you get the idea.

See ya, comrade! (oops-pirated an MWC line there)

;)

Remember, y'all need to go to the empire page and click "join"

No such link on the page I see!! :sniff!:

Underneath the roster, dead center.

P.S. You may need to log off (top right corner of any screen on galciv.com), and then log back on, before you see the "Join Empire" button. You need to dig your email address (the one you used to register the game) and password out - that's your login. Some people have had this problem before.

Why? To keep the major civs from shooting at you? We'd be happy to help...

There is, of course, the small matter of a fee. :D
