What happens if you force it to run on a single CPU?

Wanted to post some thoughts on this here:
I've changed it so that it now requires a Quantum Relay. Also, medics can no longer heal each other.

We plan to after release.
Good feedback. Thx!
We intend to add a new difficulty level between easy and beginner post release.
In this area, personal taste is irrelevant. Strat zoom is simply better than what we have now in every single way.
lol. So in other words, your personal taste determines objective reality.
There are no downsides.
There are endless downsides. First, you lose a lot of tactical awareness of the battle. You can get away with that system in SupCom because there ar
Sounds like you should go back and play some more PA, Mered. And, if you're turning your units into icons, there's really no limit on the # of units you can show on a screen. Panzer General has had lots of units for years.
I still play SupCon, both 1 & 2, but I prefer the original, mainly due to the multitude of user made maps available. Both SupCon 1 and 2 provide what I prefer for a strategic zoom feature. Maybe I am a little presumptuous in believing other SupCon players would prefer a main map related strategic zoom. I was only trying to make AOTS better with my comments. At least please consider allowing a map related zoom showing
This is an interesting discussion. I've made an internal balance change to test some things. Basically, it takes slightly longer to capture a point and a bit more time to build an engineer. Going for that greedy region is super risky.
Quoting Frogboy, reply 4 Because it was OP. I did extensive balance testing. A single Mauler can still take out 3 Artemsis's on its own as well as kill a Nemesis. Compare the Mauler to other units. Also, look at the Mauler recharge rate.
Quoting Frogboy, reply 2 Mauler damage is 1/4 what it was. OK, as needed - but why also reduce its health by 75% plus reduce its shields by 33%? Mauler HP decreased from 200 to 50 <
Don't know why you are so hung up on the "zoom out to icons". A map related zoom with dots to define vehicle locations like you have on your present zooming approach would suffice. I think most SupCon fans would admit that the strategic zoom is one of the main features that sets SupCon apart from StarCraft. Varying the maps and vehicles/weapons/defenses adds some variation and keeps the games fresh, but I believe it is
It's not. A Mauler can still rush a Nemesis or a group of Artemsis's and kill them.
Really Fred? So Supreme Commander is just StarCraft + zoom out to icons? Is that really the position you want to take? The zoom out level in the current version is the intended zoom out. I have stated since the Founder's program that the game would never ever have a bunch of icons when zoomed out. I, and others here, are big SupCom fans. I get pretty annoyed when so-called SupCom fans presume to speak for me and the thousands of others SupCom fans on what we will lik

If you look into the file, you can see lots of different ways to change what hte AI does. Now, eventually we'll have it such that you can create your own AI personalities with the goal being to let us have AI vs. AI contests.
In MP, I've won a lot of games due to the player trying to fast expand. Brian (our AI developer) is working on some rather nasty counter-strategies as well. Many new players in Company of Heroes would do the same thing and learned the hard way that this is easily countered.
The problem is, which you i feel you are missing, is that if 1 person misses 1 point, and it is easy to do, then that person has lost. This is not good for new people as well. It is forcing the same build command all the time. And having to press Q really quick is silly. You could cut the time and let people chose the radioactive or metal. I just think you should put 4 metal extractors a
Actually one of the most effective strategies is to use your engineer to fast build a second engineer and then build a factory to get a force up early. While rapidly expanding to 3 regions with no defenses can be a good strategy, it leaves you very vulnerable to early harassment. When I play MP and I see someone rapid expand to 3 regions I use my greater military to b-line to them because they will be, literally, 2 minutes behind me in production which is lethal early on.
