50k per second is 400kilobits. That's not broadband or close to it. There are plenty of other things that will affect perf. For instance, the perf of the active host will matter. Overall, the net code will continued to be optimized. But I don't want to set expectations that won't be met, if you top out at 50K per sec upload, then you're going to struggle in 6 player MP games. Those of you who are affected, try the updating your video drivers. one report we got is the Windows update messed with ppl's vide drivers.

We're not sure. We are still looking into it. We think it has something to do with their new security features and Nvidia. Apparently Ashes isn't the only game affected.

Thanks guys. A few answers: Re more debug info. We're working on it. The challenge is making sure we don't impact game perf with too much log info. But we definitely want to provide more. Re gameplay in general. Glad you guys like the progress. 0.70 is our last major alpha milestone. The first beta, scheduled for January is going to be pretty huge in terms of, well, everything.
One of our big upcoming focuses is going to be not just on meta unit targeting but regular unit targeting in general. For exmaple, the Cronus should stay back and fire but inevitably gets drawn into battle at closer ranges which we don't want it to do. We have to disect the AI logic to see why it thinks that's a good idea. That's the nice thing about early access. Until the game is released, you're not likely to find a lot of people top lay with. At any given time, there might be 40 people playing the game with say 10 of them playing MP. Once released, that number should climb to around 1,500 or with say 300 or so online. I never have issues keeping an eye on what my opponents are doing. I build Pans and I use scans. The sensor towers are there to tell you where there are concentrations of enemies. They work as designed and we really like how they're working.
