I come across a discussion like this it scares the living crap out of me. The diversity of opinions are so strong and so polar opposite in so many cases you wonder how humanity has lasted this long. How are we forcing our culture on them? There is no madatory class they take on how to wear a mini skirt and listen to rock and roll music. They find most of it on their own and a good portion of the liberal population likes it. It is the narrow focused idealogs that are fighting the influence. We don't force them to drink Coke an wear blue jeans. They choose to do it. I guess unfortunately for them, their culture has such little appeal in the west. If they want to block the internet, ban import
I was skimming through these posts and every time I come across a discussion like this it scares the living crap out of me. The diversity of opinions are so strong and so polar opposite in so many cases you wonder how humanity has lasted this long. Now that there is technology to finish the job, I wonder how long it is going to take. Strong beliefs are great. They define you as a person and give you meaning. The problem there is somebody else out there who is your evil opposite. <
WOW, THAT REPORT WAS LONG.
Kyro, It happened again on my next game. It happened while at war again and right after a battle has ended. Everything else turns to auto pilot when trying to move them. I push turn and nothing happens. It happened late in the game again if that means anything. Just 1 AI and me were left. I got a response that they could not duplicate the problem but ask for my settings file which I sent them last night. I have systems mechanic 6 and it did not find anything major wron
[[quote]Interesting , the opposite has been said. What other settings were you on folkewolfe ? I'm not a pro, but I play at crippling, medium map, this case 3 AI, Tight Clusters, abundent habitable, common anamolies, normal tech speed. I always play as the Terreans. However, I finally got myself to go evil and it makes things pretty easy. Like I said before, most of my planets were not very good. PQ12 was the highest with no special tiles. I was foturnate that mos
Turning tech trading off really changes the game. I am normally a tech trading whore to in order to keep up. With it off, you really have to focus on what you want. I usually just concentrate on building my economy first. In this game at least, I have found myself getting picked on a lot more than normal. I was at war with three powers within two turns of each other. The Drath, Yor, and Iconians all at the same time. I was behind badly in everything that you need to make a decent fleet. I was
kryo, It still does not work. I emailed the saved game as you suggested. Typically, how long before a response?
This is a freighter question. When the freighter reaches its destination it automatically sets the trade route back to its place of origin. Is there a way to change that destination? In other words, change its place of origin. I have a manufacturing planet that can produce freighter very quickly, but it is not an ideal trading planet. If I first fly the freighter to the planet I want to be its place of origin, put it in orbit and launch it again, will it then trade back to that planet?
no. I have not experienced this with any other games. I had never experienced with this one either until yesterday. I will try one more time, and if it happens again, I will email the saved game.

I am still playing dread lords. I am having a weird thing happening. It is my turn and I have ships with full movement points. I move them and one worked. On the next, the autopilot came one despite the fact I had full movement left on the ship. This proceded to happen on all remaining ships. I then pushed the turn button hoping this would fix itself on the next turn. However, the turn button greyed out like it normally does but the game froze in the position. I tried loading, reloading, rebooti
I used to be a big trade guy. Now, I just use it as a tool to keep or get good relations with another race. I focus on being totally independent from relying on trade at all. I treat it as just gravy. It takes only one war to mess your economic life up forever when you are focusing some much of your production to building up trade routes. My effort goes to getting to stock exchanges as fast as I can. Good moral and stock exchanges equals a lot of cash.
I have never noticed that it did that. That blows big hairy ones. By the time I have researched the thing my current planets have been mostly terraformed anyway. I have found it to be a waste of time.
I have a question about the option to allow AI intensive algorithms. I am assuming that this has the potential to slow your computer down, but does it make the AI smarter? I have never checked it when playing a game. I was curious if I was making a mistake by not doing it. What affect does it have?
It changes from game to game which one they pick, but they mostly follow the same path each game. One game it is all beams. The next it is all mass drivers. One person stated that it is because they trade the techs amoust themselves. Well, I don't know if that is true or not because the game does not tell you who has traded what to whom. It is just an assumption that they have unless someone knows something I don't know. I am of limited experience.
Maybe you should try a different deodorant or soap. If Ugly is your problem, maybe some cosmetic surgery to make yourself just a tad better. No one should go thru life without being close to someone.
I name mine by ass size. You should see the fright on their faces when you have them surrounded by a bunch of J Lo's with Black Hole erupters. Wow, I laughed until I stopped Jpinard - I don't keep my non-template ships. I acutally have the game set to not save my ship designs. Templates
ok. because GENERALLY I don't play campaigns in any games. I will stick with DA the . . . . which is highly addictive!! Expect a letter from mmy wife! Now this is an interesting question. When I played GalCiv 1, I never played the campaign. I never even hit the campaign button. I still only have Dread Lords but I have still not played the campaign option. I'm someone who prefers open gameplay and not a fixed senerio. Am I m
The nearest star? You don't even have to go that far. You put it in orbit, open the hatches and the the 1 billion little meteors entertain the masses. (granted, slightly reduced masses)
That's right. Kill some of them. Put them on colony ship and launch it. Then disband the ship. Or demolish a farm and they will starve. The rest of the population will think your a hero and give you a higher approval rating for the genocide you have committed.
What I would like to see is the some of the diplomatic interaction between AI's. If you have you espionage at the highest level, you should be able to intercept some of this information. For examble, "The Drengin just traded Huge hulls for whatever." Maybe, "The Yor have are issuing threats to the Torians. Their relationship is going to hell."
This is the great thing about PC games vs console. You can change things. Another reason that consoles will never kill the pc strategy game.
Thanks Kyro and Gre Magus. However, this is a dangerous thing for me to attempt. I think I will put it in the mod folder even though that will make me stop using your great ship mod despite the loading time.
Hello All, Is there a way to edit the improvement costs? It is to late for my current game, but for the future. I understand that there is a no auto upgrade option to pick but I did not pick it. Now, as I flipped about 5 planets in a short amount of time, my economy is tanking from the cost. These industrial sectors have have killed my 2k surplus per turn to nothing. I was about to declare war and that will put me into an economic disaster without the trade income. I have 50k in reserve
