When you hear a politician say they are eliminating taxes on the poor, ask them about State and SS taxes. Chances are you will be rudely escourted from their presence as he preens his tail feathers for the cameras. you keep crowing this falsehood over and over. can you even provide an example of someone being "escorted out?" this is non

James Webb, candidate for the U.S. Senate, running in Virginia has said the government needs more revenue. What part of more revenue is misunderstood to NOT mean new or higher existing taxes? don't conservatives contend that lowering taxes generates more revenue? charging that webb using the word revenue must mean that he means taxes is not proof of anything. What part of the prior statements by Charlie Rangel regarding eli

You think 9/11 wouldn't have happened (or something very much like it) if Bush had been re-elected? REALLY? Why? Do you really think North Korea wouldn't have pursued its program? Look people, you guys have to get this out of your head that the US government has all powerful foreign policy power. good point brad. the 94 NK deal was the

this is a super-spun article. on just a little bit of "fact checking" i found this... As a home owner, I cannot build on my property wherever I want. There are zones on land that I own that I am not permitted to build on because of environment regulations that, if you saw the land in question (there may have been a swamp there a hundred years ago) it's ridiculous. I'm not saying I would build on that, but the government is definitely intrud

No matter yeah,,,let's get it legal,,,then worry bout the tax system. but i would gladly pay a 100% or 200% tax to not have to look over my shoulder just to burn one and relax. the same reasoning i used when i switched to online gambling 5 or 6 years ago. i didn't mind paying taxes on my winnings knowing i was "legal." it also

As for a person being declared an enemy combatant, it would be much easier to charge him with treason and make an example of him. Assuming, of course, that the person charged is a US citizen. but if the motive is to make the person "go away" the enemy combatant tag locks em up and throws away the key essentially.

I couldn't give a rat's ass about the rights of terrorists AFTER they've been found guilty of being terrorists. i don't think you'll find much argument there. Torturing people into admitting they're terrorists is

This is an authoritarian system that could have been borne out of the War Commissions Act if it hadn't preceeded it. It derives private citizens appropriate inalienable rights for the 'good of all'. What hogwash! i'll check that out....at least it's obvious that i'm consistant, and it's about principle and not "politics." i can understand other

if you are donating time and money to Al-Qaeda - you should be declared an enemy combatant and put far, far away. no, no,no,no..it's not that simple. there is no "al queda charities inc." or anything. you could be giving unknowingly. and those are merely 2 examples. there are many things that could be considered "material support." and that does

Right now, as it stands, most cities ignore anyone who has less than an ounce or two and isn't trying to sell. that's not true at all. 88% of all people in prison for marijuana are there for possession only. if they had more than a couple ounces, distribution and the related charges would be there to.

At any time have I lead you to believe that I am a merely some partisan hack who relentlessly attacks one party while giving the other a get out of jail free card. no, i'm not ready to charge ya with that. but you have taken some personal swipes at me that i feel are very undeserved. suggesting that i "celebrate US dead soldiers" was 100% out of

It was a red herring Sean, not worth answering. no, it's not. it is what was made legal the other day. you have really lost your habeas corpus rights under the constitution if you are declared an enemy combatant. and goverments have never silenced people by throwing them in prison right? tell that to nelson mandella

Or is the good news you are looking for only found in the names of the US dead? that was truly uncalled for...i don't know why you are seeing so red the last couple of days ted, but i am not your enemy.

i enjoyed it as well...i always remember that scene with don cheadle and his gf...where she goes off on how there is a huge differeence between all the latino nationalities and he comes back asking if that is so true, then why do they all seem to put their broken down cars on their lawns just like each other....it ws in poor taste, but i gotta admit, it cracked me up. a good drama should always include a lil comedy.

the only way i can see someone do that if they catch me with a gun in my hands or a bomb strapped to my chest wondering the desert... you are dead wrong there...did you bother to read the article? you can be declared an enemy combatant on far less. just for providing material support (like donating money or time to a cause that is deemed a terror
