in the president's and other folks plans, i have consistantly seen the path towards legalization include paying some sort of restitution. they also put the immigrants "at the back of the current line" of citizenship, so i guess that would mean a good 5-7 years before citizenship would be granted. i have also seen the requirement of english speaking, which i agree with and should be extended to all immigrants seeking citizen status. i have never seen an
