If you don't like to wait for spelling patches, you can edit most *.event, *.ship, *.anomaly, *.tech -files in the GalCiv/Data -folder with the notepad/editor or the GalCiv writer. If you right-click in that vertical bar and select "reset list" the GalCiv forum will be gone for good... Instead you'll have the following main discussions, each containing a lot of smaller forums: - General - Internet - OS Customization - Personal Computing - Stardock Suport (including a GalCiv forum with no entries) - Tutorials - WC News ...and you have to log in WinCustomize to use them. No more GalCiv (original) forum, no more new

With a good morality, you get better improvements later in the game. Here are some other hints colected from older posts in this forum: "From a strategic point of view, the benefits of good (more likely to exchange trade, a trade booster wonder, trade centers planet improvement, more likely to ally, and immunity to the fundamentalists minor AI) may lend a benefit over the entire galaxy. The evil choice may lend a benefit mostly on one planet in the galaxy (like a nice

Seems like i can't access this forum via STC anymore. I have successfully logged in WinCustomize and played a bit with the discussions settings in STC, now i have a full load of new WinCustomize/TG Net/Stardock related forums i don't need or want. There is a Support-GalCiv forum there, too, but with no entries. If anyone knows if or how i can access this forum again, and get STC back to ...looking for new and updated threads..., please tell me how to achieve this.

Since the last update of StarDockCentral the Discussion is not updated anymore.:notsure: Further i'm told that i have to own a WinCustomize account in order to post in the forum via StardockCentral. (I do understand that WinCustomize is not free software - so you have to pay for a software you don't want just to use the forum via StardockCental?)

In the meantime you could perhaps change the texts of the events with GalCiv Writer or the Editor/Notepad. Simply open the *.event-files in your GalCiv/Data Folder and change the Texts (but make a backup copy of those files for emergency). ~SDC~ [Message Edited]

[quote]Under system Requirements: Multiplayer: 56k Modem or LAN[/quote] If this is really on the package, it's misleading, that is true. Perhaps it should be clarified on the package that this is needed for the updates and the "online-highscore".:notsure: Apart from that you have bought one of the best strategy games available. :D [Message Edited]

Well, if you're really really really lucky you can start on a PQ 26 Planet. In one of my games I started on a violet planet with PQ 26. But in all my games this happened only once. ~SDC~

If all else fails, you can deinstall your old GalCiv/AP and download a clean version via Stardock Central (not sure about AP here - don't own it, but with GalCiv it's no problem - did that several times). ~SDC~ [Message Edited]

Check out if they are allied with another Civ you are at war with. If this is the case, you should try to make peace with those other race(s), too. Don't build starbases in their sectors if you do not wish to upset them. Don't move or station warships in sectors controlled by the aliens you want to befriend. Bribe them before and/or after you made peace. Go for a high dimplomacy or massive military ability. Hope this helps a bit. :) ~SDC~

Since NeoTech has moved to it's new server, i can't find the page. :sniff!: Even with the links provided in the notification emails, i get the "server not found"-screen ("Netzwerkeinstellungen ermitteln..."). So how do i get to NeoTech? ~SDC~

Yes. Did the same with the mods i use. I think most people here do that anyway. ~SDC~

I think there was a Mod Compatability Project by Moser the Alchemist sometime ago: http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GM&id=191621 Even if there is no complete All-Mods package i know of, you should find valuable information and help there. I also believe that Chippoka is working on something close to what you seek. ~SDC~
