You wil not see the custom-techs in the tree if they have no tech following, if they are the end of a brach, so to say. To fix this, i created an "Endtech" with ID 9999, a "." in both description fields, with nothing else changed. This "Endtech" has all my custom techs as tech requirements. This way i can see all my custom techs in the tree, while "Endtech" as branch-end does not show up. Curiously "Endtech" does not appear at anytime in the game, even if you have re

At this point i have to say that i've never-ever encountered any problems with the metaverse. Further i believe that support for GalCiv is much MUCH better than for a lot of other games/applications where the producers don't even answer to any kind of complaints or questions they get. I've had some troubles with StarDock Central some time ago, another time with my serial, as well as some other minor troubles, and every time i got either a fast reply to my eMails or quick and e

Pax Imperia and Spaceward Ho were definitely addictive. I also like StarWars Battlegrounds, SW Rebellion, Birth of the Federation, Alpha Centauri, Lords of Magic, Kaiser (C64), Pirates, Caesar III, Sterne wie Staub (C64 - that was great- you could create new AI worlds by putting a few slaves on a deserted planet...) Age of Wonders (the first one) Lords of the rising sun (Amiga) Right now i'm on Chaos League - wh

I downloaded the Graphic Editing Suite, but i have no program to edit the unpacked files (didn't even know "pear sprite files" before). Normally i do most work with the ancient PSP 3(.something) from about '95. But those pear files aren't recognized by it. Since there is freeware for almost anything somewhere on the web, i thought i just ask if anyone knows something about it. Why i use PSP 3.x: PSP 9
costing about $129
i'm a bit short on cash, so i'm going for

I think the problem should be solved if you delete the Expansion01Anom -file in your GalCiv/Data folder - it contains nothing but the shark-anomaly. (Don't forget to make a backup copy if you ever want to face the shark again) You can edit nearly all files in the data-folder with the notepad or the GalCiv Writer. Here's a link to the old version: http://www.ctuit.com/bill/galciv.htm#Downloads: Using this, anyone can become a modder! ~SDC~

There's the Star Wars Mod and a StarTrek Mod about. Both have excellent ship models available. There has been a mod that renamed the ships exactly as you described some fan page some time ago. Unfortunately i can't find it anymore. On this page was also an event-file about a fleet of automatic waste-disposal ships. Perhaps the creator of these mods reads this and writes back. If you do not like the names of the GalCiv original ships, you can edit the ship names either in the *.SHIP File

You just move several ships at the same spot, so that they are all in one place. To the right of your screen is that small window where all the ships in that spot are displayed with little icons (i call it the fleet-window). Right to the small ship symbols there is a small gadget, if you click that, all ships in that spot will be merged/stacked into a fleet. Once this is done there will be a little gadget under the first one, allowing you to disband the fleet again into singl

Chippoka, i got some pics that i'd like to mail you, but i don't know where to (looked at your profile in the settlers pages, but found no mailadress there). If you don't like to post your e-mail adress here, tell me, then i'll do it. Once again i'll be off for a few days, i'll be back around tuesday the 15th. Is there a way to change the name tag of forum threads? I think this thread is far removed from it's original meaning, and Chippokas mods and the Starbase discussion migh

Chippoka, the Goa'uld Ship is just great, as is the Starbase model. :CONGRAT: I especially like that 3D-appearance you have managed to give them. I think it is also great that they do not rotate like other ships, that would a) spoil the 3D effect, and b) would look somehow inappropriate for such big structures. Also the slow movement is a great idea. Would you also do ships on demand? - as i'd like to have some different models for the stellar warfare package, like som
I did add a maintenace cost to them (I seem to remember they were zero),
Which version of the MonMod do you have? These are the stats of the current (old) version in the Library (note the maintenance): //------------------------------------------------------------------------ SHIP SpaceShark1 //------------------------------------------------------------------------ Name "Monster Shark" Model "mon"

Once again, nicely done! The only thing i personally would prefer are "neutral" blueprints, but this is just a personal preferrence, nothing that diminishes the fun of having new ships in the game or the quality of your work. Right now i'm tinkering again with the (or another) monstrous mod, i'm thinking about introducing the Shark with it's own tech around battleship-time for evil races only, in combination with a tech and ship reserved for good races (my current version uses your white

You're going really fast now... LOL Many thanks for solving the "Vorlon Problem"! Downloaded both Farscape ships, the Moya looks pretty cool at first sight, didn'T play for a long time yet. Going to report in a few days i think. ~SDC~
