added those...no help...browser accepeted the changes, but zone alarm wont recognize "images3.wincustomize.com" it did accept the other one tho, but still cant see images in galleries
i am a registered user and commonly use the wincustomize browser and stardock program to access the sites, however, i sometimes use IE 6.0, I've set my browser up to trust this site as well as configuring zone alarm pro to recognize wincustomize.com as a trusted site, now, heres the problem, i can access the main wincustomize page with IE, but as soon as i attempt to enter a library ie wallpapers, suites, logons, etc.....it will not load images within
Roses are Red, End of Thread!
i think "clear" is the only option in classic
ok, disregard my original post, after installing the upgraded desktopX 3.0 to use atleast some of the objects, you need to use desktop builder, atleast that is what worked to restoreing the properties dialog to that particular object, tiggz site explains why he loaded the email mini widget as an object rather than a widget as settings wont save when you exit the program if its used as a widget, apparently the newer version of desktopx removes that obje
right click on taskbar/properties/start menu tab/customize button, select how many programs you want loaded on the start panel pane.. thats how i control panel size, this is a winxp feature, you can also right click on the individual icons in the start panel pane and select "pin to start panel" to keep those particular programs in place, then set the limit for programs to say 5 or 6 ..these programs that arent "pinned" will change as your use of pr
You can use theme manager, there are many applications ie: icon packager , cursorxp, logon studios and other programs to completly customize any theme. Download icon packages , wallpapers, progress animations logon and boot screens, most of these programs are centrally controlled and utilized via theme manager for complete control of your custom desktop.
Ok, maybe its me, but as soon as i downloaded the newest version of OD with the changes to DesktopX, ive lost all ability to configure Tiggz's mini-widget (object) email checker, except path to client email, before, i could use my change how the object reacts to events etc as well as using my own sounds for "new mail"...if its me, please let me know...otherwise, i want the old version of DesktopX back thanx for any help Diane
i was wondering if active desktop in xp needs to be on for OD to work, i want to restrict seeing all picture from the "my pictures" folder in display properties/desktop when selecting a wallpaper, does anyone know how to do this, someone suggested it was to turn off active desktop, and i wanted to know how that would affect OD and themes. thanks Diane <
some of the programs you'll recieve in the Object Desktop package can be upgraded to beyond user level, ie developers tools, pro versions, etc .. and there are other stand alone programs that can be used along with Object Desktop that also have a free version to OD subscribers, as far as competitive software, i dont know, but for assembling your own themes and suites, OD has everything you'd need, in addition, theres "skin studio" if you want to begin
ok, that must have been it, it seemed to me there used to be an option in one of the programs to add "start" to a right click on the desktop and your start menu would appear no matter where on the open desktop you clicked...who know, might have been a fluke! thanx anyways Diane
im a little confused, i have the program "Object Bar"...but how do you get the start menu panel to detache from the task bar as ive seen in a lot of screen shots? any help or ideas appreciated Diane
im a newbie too, but i took the standard windows users approach "tinker with it til it breaks" then reformat, reinstall windows, then go to www.wincustomize.com and buy OD and download what you like best, then after you've played with all the buttons, sliders, toggles, in the configuration apps and realize the software is well written and is integrated into Windows beautifully. only then, go to the tutorials and begin to apply what ive learned...but th
you should be able to right click on a sysmetrix item on the desktop or right click the tray icon and bring up a configuration window allowing you to change or load items
some of the WindowBlinds are win styles, and not necessarily a full suite of customizations, you really have to read each one and see what it comes with, also, each additional customization included in the winstyle or suite needs the necessary program that installs and controls that element ie: object dock, cursorxp, use theme manager to find and apply any additional elements you downloaded, best approach is .suite files applied thru theme manager is p
let me first say i love all the programs and some if not all of the features they provide me, but i have a question. Objectbar (for my use) doesnt seem to provide much but more clutter, is it the fact that all the menus can be broken down to their lowest tree at the push of a button, i just dont get it...ive always organized my menus and submenus using the "open all users" from a right click on the start button, then create folders like: "utilities" "i
when you install WB it will add custom buttons to your display properties and a tab for themes, if you decide to restore your desktop back to windows standard or classic desktop, select it from the menu, it will automatically load WB and or theme manager, from there, go thru each program in the managers list restoreing each, some or all back to winxp.
oops, hit button twice
i agree with Bichur, i purchased Object Desktop and Object Dock Plus, it will do all of the applications you described, there are literally tons of weather, stats, and other widgets on wincustomize sites all available to you for d/l with the registered version of OD, sysmetrics is a usefull program as well for weather and such once you have your desktop as you want it, save it as a theme in thememanager or as in ODP in a theme for your docks, then you
Night Train was correct, i have the purchased version of Object Desktop , i never had a splash screen on the unregistered or registered versions, i think the latest update turned on smart start, turned it off and "voila" , no more splash screen thanx Night Train Diane
the object desktop splash sreen recently began popping up on reboot...i dont know what changed, but its annoying and im sure it can be turned off somewhere...any help appreciated thanx Diane
