I would suggest re-installing iconpackager. Then from Tools, click Restore All Icons. Then rebuild the icon cache. As for the start menu icons not showing, on the right side of the main screen under "Include" there are seven different sections to use custom icons. Be sure you have the Start Menu Icons checked. And be sure the choices are all checked before restoring the icons. Hope this helps.
Service pack 3 installed for me with no problems. I use Windowblinds, IconPackager and Objectbar on Win2k. I unloaded Windowblinds and Objectbar to do the upgrade and then re-applied after rebooting. What problem did you have?
Thank you C242 & Werewolf. Treetog has been very kind about letting me post the messes I have made his graphics, I just haven't had the nerve to ask about these. Also, I used Graypony's Woody skin as a model while working thru the tutorial because I didn't like the one used in the sdk, so I would have to get permission from him too (I think) And, I don't know where I would post the MMJB skin. Wincustomize doesn't have a catagory for it, and this is the only place I hang out. But I do apprecia
I like MMJB. I bought it back at version 5, and updates are free. It does a great job of playing mp3s, ripping, and burning CD's from mp3s. It was a real bear to skin, tho. Calculating the button positions was too much like work. I am an accountant and get all the calculating I want at the office. And, joetheblow, I look forward to seeing your efforts in skinning this. If you figure out the transparency thing or tiling the Burner borders, please let me know.
GM..Read about your "CD" present...Awful but sorta funny.
Well, after only 3 1/2 weeks of hard labor, I finally finished a MMJB skin to match my favorite Windowblinds. The result is here: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=13&SkinID=1291 Problems: I cannot get transparency on the upper left corner of the player. (Finally, I just colored the corner to match the wallpaper.) Ugh... The Portable Device and Burner Plus skins seem to be hardwired to stretch the borders, so I could not use the stripes on the s
"Skin Section #'s" are the different sections of the bar. i.e.: system tray, Quick launch, etc. The "States" are the graphics you want to display upon mouseover, select, etc. You use these by creating a graphic for each state and putting it's filename in each section of the .obskin Note that each state is a separate graphic, not multi-state like Windowblinds. You give the obskin file the default settings in the [General] section. If you want to use the same font, font size, fon
My comment was not meant as a flame. I agree that it would be an excellent tool for a "newbie" that is having trouble figuring out how to use all this stuff. But for someone like me that has been hanging around here forever, it just gets in the way. (I just couldn't get used to it.) I bought it to help the site, nothing more. Happy Holidays to you, too.
Best wishes to you and yours, Starone.
Dual boot, Windows 98 and Windows 2000. 98 is just for Duke Nukem 3d (won't run on 2k) and for the occasions when Win2k won't boot. 2 weeks ago Win2k couldn't find the Software registry. It was corrupted, I guess. It took a week to get everything working again. Had to reinstall all progs, patches, etc.. But in the meantime I could access my e-mail, the internet, etc. on the Win98 partition.
By manually, I mean loading Iconpackager and applying the icons, not one icon at a time.
This has been my pet peeve for about a year now. Since about ver 3.10 of Windowblinds, it applies the wallpaper, regardless if you choose yes or no, and it will not apply an Iconpackage at all. I always get the error message "there has been an error in applying the Iconpackage, please reinstall it" Because I have an icon set to match every skin, having to change the icons manually is a real annoyance to me. I have complained in the Iconpackager and Windowblinds newsgroups, but no joy.
If Coke_ means the background of the text, yes, Windowblinds can make the text background transparent on Win2k. If he means the alpha blending of the icon, no, Win2k desn't support 32bit alpha blending.
Glad I could help. Enjoy.
If you have SkinStudio, there is a setting under Tools\Tweak Your Feel\Miscellaneous\Maximized Windows Show Borders. Check it and reload the skin. Or, go to "Tweak Your Feel" from the SkinStudio sub-directory of the start menu and do the same change. This stops the "cutoff" of the maximized windows on my computer.
I don't use DesktopX either, so I probably cannot help you. ObjectBar problems with icons not showing in the system tray are usually caused by Trayserver.exe not loading, or not loading in the right order. On my computer, Trayserver.exe loads from HKLM, and ObjectBar, Windowblinds and Explorer Synchronizer load from HKCU and all the icons in the system tray show just fine. But it sounds like your problem may be a setting in DesktopX. You might check the DesktopX newsgroup and see if anyone el
There is an "Add File Format" under the Tools menu in IconPackager that you can use to change icons by type. i.e. choose an icon for .mp3 files. For exe files, I think you have to use shortcuts to the exe and change them one at a time.
Well, I am just guessing, but if wfx.dll is the problem, you are probably running WinFX. If so, can you disable WinFX, load ObjectBar, and make the change? Then re-load WinFX, and see if that works.
Have you tried checking the box "Block WindowFX from applying its shadows to this bar"? (Theme Editor/Advanced)
Load Theme Editor (right click on taskbar or menu and choose properties). Open "File/General Options/Startup Options" and be sure you don't have "Disable Trayserver from Loading at Startup" checked. If it is, uncheck it, save, logoff or reboot and see if that fixes it.
Hey guys, anybody tried this? I spent several frustrating hours trying to do a Siderado skin for MMJB yesterday. The experience has given me a whole new appreciation for Skin Studio. Program is supposed to recognize "magic pink", and maybe it does, but it's showing "magic pink". Clashes a bit with the beige and orange. Don't know if I'll ever figure out the button placement with x y coordinates. I found the documentation a little sketchy. I was wondering if anyone else is having fun with
