I wonder how hard would it be to auto-check if the installed skins on my hard drive have been updated on the WC server ??

as a OB buyer, the incentive beside the coherence between the OD components was the integration with Wincustomize and not being forced to hunt the web for new skins especially suites. Stardock should not care about freeloaders. If people are not ready for either subscribing to WC or buying OD components, they do not care about Stardock and will most likely favor any other "free" solutions (like konfabulator for the widgets). I'm running the latest version and I tried with or without the "Only load registered" and with "reapplying the Windows default", always the same. The only way to make IP work on .WMV files was to deselect WMP as my default media player, otherwise it fails at changing this icon ...
THanks for the effort, but ... The problem is that the icon in the package is already ok. It is just that IP refuses to apply it on the filetypes I've manually assigned some other icons before. By playing with my computer, it seems to happen with fileformats associated to some reader (pdf with acrobat, WMV with media player, and so on). With those kind of file/reader associations, IP fails to apply sometimes its own icon s.
No, it does not work. Of course, I can force manually the file type to change its icon with the rightclick menu. I would like something more straightforward. When I apply a package, I would like this package to be completely applied when I click the Apply button in IconPackager
I have a problem. Assuming I have forced some file type to be with a specific icon manually (for example, on a WMV file, by rightclicking the file, changing the icon with the context menu), then when I apply some new IP theme, I wouls like all files to be modified including those I have modified manually. IP does not seem to be able to do that Anybody knows
Just tried to remvie the last IP installed and now it works fine. Maybe a problem with Azenis IP ??
I have the same problem (and not before). Starting IP, the program starts to scan the themes folder and it stays on screen for a few seconds and disappear, not enough for doing anything substantial.
Hi Jeff, Is it in your plans to make SVD compatible with Iconx ?? At the current time, the custom wallpapers of SVD are overwritten by the default wallpaper when Iconx is running
I had the same problem for ever. Never worked. XP SP2 here.
I just tried Rightclick. No problem at all. I like the idea of having Programs being sorted differently on the Startup Menu and in righclick.
I have no problem here with WallMaster Pro, and never had any problems with Wallpaper Changer, when I was using that. He was talking about the wallpaper switching capability of SD Virtual Desktop, I think. As for now, IconX is the least compatible component of ObjectDesktop, I
It is good that Konfabulator is going for free. It will push DesktopX to work hard to show how better it is considering it is not free.
The neowin gadget does not work anymore for me (no RSS) and no way to import in DX to test it
Why ?? It is starting fine like this. If devs could fix Iconpackager and Virtual Desktop incompatibilities from Iconx, it would be a very fine addition to Object Desktop.
a very good release. Some widgets I never succeeded to make it work now runs !!
Iconx and DEsktopX seems to live fine now together unlike before where killing DX also killed Iconx But IconX is still not compatible with the wallpaper changer capability of Stardock Virtual Desktop manager
I never had any problems with IP.
I use Object Desktop more and more, but it is still a bit rough. For example, it is weird that running both Virtual Desktop and Iconx yields conflicts between both programs (Iconx refuse that VD applies custom wallpapers and forces the default Windows wallpaper). I would expect more synergy between Object Desktop components. Apart from this, this is really a great great program. Emily : I think Iconx renders the DX zoomers a bit u
It seems sometimes icons files are not the same in - the explorer or - on the desktop with iconx It happens with files where icons have been changed manually (with the icon properties). On the desktop, iconx gets the icon for the files viewer, and not the customized files I've set in the explorer. Is there a way to match both files icons ??
I use Kapsules despite I'm DX registered. I like the fact I can freeze the position of the Kapsules widgets on the Desktop.
Add the fact, that kapsules (the widget program) donators get this suite for free, I think. It is just another way to support the program.
to be more precise, it hangs when MEssenger send a notification window
for information (if anybody reads), this is a conflict with MSN Messenger 7.0
the latest release (rc) of Virtual desktop make my explorer hang with no other choice than rebooting. Am I the only one to get this ??
