I'm using this little software and it works well, bit as far as akinning is concerned, I have 2 questions : - Is there a way to modify the icons of the little option on the up/right top of the dialog ? (the arrows, create directory, and details, ...) The default XP icons are ugly. - Looking at the directory icon folders within the dialog, the icons are the regular Windows icons. Can we change that ?? thanks

I have yet to test the last version. What I like and remind me of Unix is the "drag windows from desktop 1 to desktop 2"
I use both Avedesk and DX. I would love to rely only on DX, so pretty much everything that Avedesk is doing right would be welcomed, like customizable monitored Folders shortcuts.
The only widget bug I'm still aware in the last alpha I'm running is the currency widget not working (freeze saying "updating"). Apart from this, the last alpha made rework lots of widgets that the official 2.4 release did broke. As for theme, I'm running Airlock and at startup, it shift all widgets from their location to 150 pixels right ... Pretty strange behaviour. Garry : with or without DX, MS antispyware is not slow (I've just
I have the SP2 firewall on (tried it off but still same error). The weathers widgets do work. If I continue, others script errors occurs about "arg or incorrect procedure call". If I dismiss it, it claims it needs it of course. Argument ou appel de procédure incorrect: 'Left' Line: 140 Code: (not availab
ALberto : I just updated to the last beta and tried the Currency converter from Pixelpirate. If I try it as a widget, It freeze while updating. I I import it in a theme, it says "script error in curr_web" (the one from Martin kills Desktop X when imported !!) Objet requis: 'DesktopX.Object(...)' Lin
As for Widgets not working, it would be easier to have a sticky thread with submissions, so people would not resubmit the same problems on the forum over and over. As for DX beta or not, with the 2.4 (stable), some widgets did not work (for example Tiggz said, he stopped working on widgets then since its widgets no longer works), so the "go to the last stable" is not always the solution) The latest alpha builds made them to work by th
We all agree that DX has no equivalent and OD is an amazing package which gets better and better and deserves to be non freeware. It is just a matter of visibility. People are perplexed too with the DX objects / DX widgets duality in my opinion. As for DX bugs, they are still there. I tried DX 2.4 (stable) and some widgets I downloaded did not work (the ones from Tiggz), so the release is not stable. Things have improved with the latest beta,
A few comments from a recent Object Desktop buyer What Desktop X did right lots of power and potential, integration with Object Desktop, standalone programs What should be done 1/ push widgets creation, Iconpackager got a boost from the GUI olympics. This year, it should be widget time. Quality and diversity should increase. 2/ make DX stable : ancient widgets should work. In the current 2.4 build (beta or n
both 2.4 and the latest betas have their own different problems. The latest beta has corrected many problems but still some objects/widgets do not work anymore.
same here unin and loaded fresh same problem it seems to happen to only the ones you use all time what has support say? I'm sure they are working on it. I'm running the last beta and progress has been made. The problem is that you never know if the bugs come from you, the widget or DX.
As for longhorn, the pre-beta's all really sucked... Did you know that the Longhorn alpha release were just that, some alpha code for the devs to get in touch with the API's ? They were never meant to be usable code.
Still reporting (I do not know if it is of any interest ??) I tried the currency converter of Martin and the widget does not work.
No need to bash. OSX is a fine piece of code but works on a smaller and hardware controlled userbase. Let OSX userbase grow to handle 250M users (50x more), infinite number of configurations and we'll see.
At least the developpers are aware of the problems. EDIT : I have tried DX beta of 13/01/04. The Trash can of GT3 is now working (it was broken in DX2.4). The DogmaX widgets are also now working. I'm happy. Thx Stardock.
I just went back to the last stable release of DX (2.4) but still some widgets do not work (like the drag and drop in the trash widgets of Tiggz). Is is a problem in the widgets (to be fixed by the author) or in DX2.4 ??
How can we change the icons of the process in the tray tab ?? They are all ugly. Righclicking gives only the tray menu
Is it possible (or in the future ?) to have a drag and drop feature on Folders ? I would like to just drop a file on the "My documents" folder icon to copy (or move) it inside. Is it possible ??
Brewman suite is really a true showcase for ObjectDesktop. Too bad the widgets are broken with the current beta.
After having updated DX, I tried a limited number of widgets today from the Brewman DogmaX suite. The calendar is working well but the weather has serious problems (animation is broken and some part of the widgets did not appear). Can we expect a bug fix on Stardock side or is it a "incomaptible" new feature ??
I tried to use a not so old widget, "the weather widget from the Dogmaxv2 suite" The widget does not work as it should (no animation and no forecast pictures) I remember it worked when I downloaded it. Is it me, the widget, or Desktopx ??
I really wanted to like it, but it has weird encoding problems with international characters in both Item display and newspaper display. Other than this, it is very great for a 1.0 version.
