I just read about her passing a few moments ago. I was so hoping that she would crack the 100 and have the party of a lifetime. Sadly, Betty White passed away just 3 weeks shy of that and will be very much missed, not only in Hollywood and the US but right around the world, including here in Australia, where she was as popular as some of our own stars. RIP Betty White, you left your mark on the world and will never be forgotten.
Recently a nurses aid told me that Covid would go away if they stopped talking about it on the news so much. What genius! Now all we have to do is convince the news agencies to stop talking about hunger, war, racism, poverty, cancer, etc etc etc.
If only it were that easy Sadly, however, the world is more complicated than that.

Congrats on your new position at the sheriffs office, I hope you enjoy it as much as you have enjoyed your time at Stardock and WC. The place won't be the same without you, but hey, you get the chance to follow your dream of being in law enforcement, and that's what matters. The NSW health minister made a brave statement that everyone in the state will get the omicrom variant.... despite many residents having their 1st and 2nd vaccinations, and some even having had their booster shot. I sure hope he's wrong because that would mean most of Australia would contract it. There is talk of a 2nd

I can get my first booster shot now but will wait until the new year to get it because I rarely go out these days and I'm in a low transmission area anyway.
Had a test for Covid on Tuesday. Came back positive.
Hey Barb, here's hoping you recover fully and quickly. Anyhow, a happy holiday season to all and stay safe.... especially from covid.

Three old blokes in their 80's and residing in a nursing home were discussing issues with their waterworks. The first old bloke complains that he has to get up a few times during the night to go pee and that most times he can only manage a dribble. The second old bloke says that he has similar issues but all too often gets caught short because he can only shuffle along somewhat slowly and leaves embarrassing puddles here and there for staff to clean up. The third old blo

Banned for toasting to the old man who purposely became a renegade to upset his nagging wife with heaps of very colourful language and plenty much contrary behaviour.

Banned for thinking that time in space ends at the edge of the universe and begins again elsewhere in another cosmos. Thanks for the kind words, they mean a lot at this time and are appreciated.

I'm in no hurry to switch to Win 11 but I am interested in it and will give it another try in a few months. As all of my desktop PCs were offline to to desk modifications, I did try Win 11 on my HP 2-in-1 laptop/tablet, but it ran so slowly and at times was totally unresponsive. Obviously it needs a better, more powerful machine,. but I'm in no frame of mind at this time to be setting up a new OS and installing all my programs.

Then there was the man with nothing but a condom on his nose when he was pulled over by the cops for being naked while walking along the footpath. He was asked for his reason to be naked in public with just a condom on his nose. "I'm on my way to a fancy dress party just a few doors up." The leading cop was feeling somewhat dubious but still asked: "What are you going as?" "AW.... fuck knows." [Sounds better than it writes]

Things here have settled down some, though I'm still rather unhappy with a few things, but I can't leave Shaunna in the lurch with rent and bills, etc, so will stay on to save her unnecessary financial difficulty.

Banned for trying to impose a time limit. The reason for my absence is that my friend and housemate Steve passed away on Nov 21. Thing is, I'm still trying to come to terms with it and may miss logging in here for a few days here and there.

Things here have turned for the worst and I am moving back to Queensland..... ALONE. It's not what I wanted but things here have become untenable.... no thanks to a bitch who latched onto Steve some time ago and now makes my life difficult in any way she can. I've spoken to Shaunna about it but it falls on deaf ears. As soon as I can pack my stuff and find a place up there to go I'm out of here.... I've no reason to stay anymore.

Thanks to all for their condolences and kind words. It hasn't been the easiest time but it is getting better as time passes. The hard part is that Steve was just 54 and we had plans for our back yard. We don't have anywhere in the yard to plant anything so we purchased 7 raised garden beds and the soil to fill them. Next we were going to a nursery to purchase some plants, things like grape vines, tomato vines, various vegetables and herbs, some roses and one of

As the title says, I'm feeling rather sad because my mate, housemate and carer passed away on Sunday morning at 2.30am. I was awoken around 1.00am by a call for help. When I got to Steve's room he was delirious, incoherent and unresponsive, very agitated and unable to breathe properly. I tried to calm him down and relax but he was not responsive to anything I said or did to ease his panic, etc. In the meantime Shaunna had called for an ambulance I'm not a docto

It's not new but I've been re-watching Continuum on 7Plus, one of our free streaming channels here in Oz. It's a Canadian produced show about a cop from the future who was accidentally transported back to our time with a group of criminals who were to have been executed in the future for terrorist acts. Yup, definitely worth a watch.
