I have been building fleets of 7 transports built on huge hulls. Each has a single adv crew carrier, and a speed of something like 107.

I was wondering what everybody does for troop carriers? My first ones were basicly modified "battleships", but when I saw that they disappeared upon invasion I switched to 4 troop moduels 2 life support and the rest was engines. I found those to deplete my population at an alarming rate when mass produced and so I am now sticking a single moduel on it.
I am currently fighting the Dregin, and have built the Galatic Privateer. The Dregin have assigned a fleet of six ships to chase one of my traders. It would not be so bad if it did not present the posibility for an exploit, and it also seems to "confuse" the computer, the AI seems to think about what to do there for quite a while.
Maybe it was just the difficulty. And I think I will have to adjust my pluses abd munuses next game.
I don't want the CD to be needed, that would realy suck on my laptop, but I had issues typing it in.
I will as soon as its done, this will be my only game at normal, and they do cover their planets with spheres, but that does not make their little ships build any faster as I understand the mechanics of the game. I am on the latest patch (I think, downloaded 2-3 weeks ago) What about the other thing I wanted: What I want is for the computer to look at their perspective opponents manufacturing capacity, and possibly the technology differance before starting a war, as that would have
First I am fairly new, and am working my way up the AI difficulties, right now I am on Normal so my request may be in the harder difficulties. I had a large empire with 1 war ship, and I was attacked by someone. I designed some new ships based on what my enemy had and ordered my ship yards to build them. I do not know how long it took for me to win, but I did not get a UP vote between the start and end of the war. What I want is for the computer to look at their persp
1. Larger galaxies 2. Larger ships 3. A note pad. I would like to be able to put general notes in it, and I would like to put screen locations in it.
Stromko, you are right in what my first idea was, and you are right they should focus on the major stuff first, but depending on how their programmers are organized and how the code itself is written it may just be a half hour task for someone without much to do.
I don't like the thought of an artificial limit on them, but I do like the idea of larger ships. Maitanence, building cost, and building time should be the factors controlling their existance. If the computer can build them too it should not be unbalancing.
First I am new to the game, and have only played a couple of games, but I noticed two real annoyances with the planet screen. First I would like the ability to "zone" tiles like in SimCity. I mainly want this so I don't have to go back in to build after a planet enhancement has been built. I'm not sure that made sence. I want to be able to dictate some tiles to factories, which can include yellow, orange, and red tiles, which will build their factories once the proper improvement has made th
Also, as a side note, the God-like event you got might not be a mega event there was something similar in normal GalCiv 2's events. I believe there is a mega event that makes a race Godlike, however, so it's hard to say. I came here to ask about that event. I just got the game, and am on my second "real" game on beginner difficulty, and conquer
Does anyone know what file(s) my saved games are stored in. I would like to be able to sync my desktop and laptop but I don't know what files to send, and as the resolutions are not compatable I do not want to try copying everything like I do in the original.
I am not sure if this is feasable, but it would be nice if the serial number for the games was stored on the original CD in a manner that prevented it from being coppied to other disks, but allowed the game to pull it off.
