Yeah, but what is the use in that. You also have the normal jump research that does exactly the same. I guess there's the fact that you (might) get to tech it early if you happen to start sitting on the artifact. I'd say thats the point. It only requires one research lab, Vs. 5 or 7 (don't remember which).

The final game will have an intro movie (it's in production now) and it will not be 2 hours or feature pink space ponies. So either we're looking at a 4 hour intro, or blue space ponies. Nice... (Edit: We'd better be careful if we don't want an easter-egg movie to find its way in-game involving space ponies...)

Same here and the G15 is too large for my keyboard tray at home (I've made it fit, but it hangs over the sides). If the revised version is decent, I'll bring the old one to the office and use the smaller one at home. Ooooh, another G15 lover? <img src=

or you could always put a clock by ur comp... crazy idea i know... Yeah, but I don't have any hand-dandy wall-space where I could just glance over at it. I have to turn my entire body around to look behind me

Frankly I have never been able to quite understand the appeal of a console system. A) A lot of games have gotten released to consoles that haven't been to PC's, because B) A console is a lot harder to screwup than a computer is -- games are more stable, and there's a lot less for the end-user to worry about doing wrong (or right).

I'm able to run Sins at 1440x900 with maxed settings, the only time it slows down is durning auto-save Wow! ... I am definitely going to complain to the management. If "max" lets you do that, I want a super-max that'll actually let me use my 8800GTX at 1280x1024!

Yes, but if there are multiple enemies and friendlies the computer will need to simultaneously calculate several intercept routes as your ships pick different targets. Just like it needs to simultaneously do a million other things

anyway... there is a button on the lower UI bar, that is orange, it is useless right now, but soon will do amazing things..... like naming stuff! Will I be able to use it to generate the winning lottery ticket numbers? Sure, but you have a very high probability of getting the loosing ones instead.

But with multiple enemy ships needing to be tracked that gets a little more complicated. I'm not saying it isn't possible, simply that it's more complicated than some people are making it sound. So don't target multiple enemy ships... target and track just one. Whichever one is the priority target for the vessel anyway.

lol mikey, do you realize that you just called all of humanity stupid? No, he didn't. He came close, but "intelligent enough to make your own" could require a species to be universally genius level (and have their geniuses be super-geniuses!).

First and foremost, the Jump Drive relic. What does it do? It allows interstellar travel -- if there is more than one star in the game, it lets your ships utilize the lines between stars.

You guys see that Logitech is putting out a revised G15? They're getting rid of most of the programmable keys along the left side (though you'll still have 18 possible combinations) and integrating the LCD screen to the keyboard (no flip screen) while making it orange backlit. No, but that sounds really cool. While the programmable keys seemed cool, I just don't use them as often as I would have thought. On the other hand, the LCD monitor is so

Doesn't everyone use Firefox? All the cool kids do! (BTW, that link at the top is my doing I believe, I e-mailed the guy about the trouble I was having and "poof", there it was... unless it was there all the time and I just missed it )

Ask intel or amd how long the chips last. But either way its at least 5 to 10 years, longer then most of us have a comp or i sure do hope ./shudder, my bosses "old" computer broke down after 7 years of use before they threw in the towel on it. Admittedly, thats a work rather than game computer, but still.

You can't be sure! possibly some sort of enhancement could boost the power output to 110%. A photon accelerator? Who knows! First Law of Thermodynamics: You can neither create nor destroy energy. Once your getting 100% of the power the sun is putting out, you've got 100% of the power the sun is putting out. End of story. You can manage more than 100% of nominal efficiency on a given system, but not 100% of theoretical (perfect) efficie

Can you be a bit more specific about what you mean exactly? OK, you know the little cards in the lower right hand card? If you left/right click on those, you go through various events in the que. Do the same thing, only let me click on the individual ship classes, and it'd "scroll" through the various ships, focusing the view on whatever ship has the "focus" at the time. E. G. something to the following effect: I need one of

After all, it would be kinda lame if enemy ships magically knew where you had ordered your guys. Calculating observed acceleration and turning out an intercept acceleration is not that difficult... merely exceptionally complex and requiring very precise skills. And computers excel and both complex and precise.

Oh well, it's 'round that time of the year that I go upgrading anyway. Any suggestions for a limited budget and a dated PC? Three things: Define limited budget (how much) Define what you want out of it (new PC? PC that runs better?) Define if you know how to put parts together your self (which for all intents and purposes means you have the self-confidence to follow an online walk through, its really easy!) Given those,
