no real manual thread, there used to be a FAQ thread multi started, but I dunno where it went.... Well, I wish I knew where it was. It might have told me what I just figured out: Trade ships are only intra-system, they won't go from star-to-star. Refinery ships, however, do...
RonLugge
yeah, but that does mean that objects near the star either change their relative positions to interstellar phase lines, or intrastellar phase lanes, since both can't stay the game.
Are there any game threads that act as a manual? I've had questions about how things work, and keep having to open threads about them because they haven't been mentioned before. Bounty, trade ships, and soon to come even more... I tried searching for "trade ships" and "trade ports" but I couldn't find the information I wanted on if having multiple trade ports per planet increases your overall income, or is just a waste. I thought they stacked... but I have a "trade-port" systems wher
ou'll need to be at the recommended specs to play with High graphics settings. And will there be an "extra high" graphics setting for those of us who take pride in destroying the game requirements with an 8800GTX, 4600+ CPU... ?
Ya but what are the files called? Look in the gameinfo folder, lots of files there. And they're all pretty self explanatory. Capship, frigate... FrigateTechCarrier says that cruisers are lumped in with frigates...
I expect half of america ... at least! ... to be in the lines on opening day. Probably closer to 2/3s.
but how do you know if your parts are compatable? The only part you really have to worry about, IIRC, is your processor. And processors have been 64 bit for a while now. I know the athlon 64's are, and I do believe the core 2 duo's (and even core duos) are, too.
but I wouldn't hesitate to kill that thing if it so much as twitched in my direction. LOL. Nature hater!
A simple solution to this is simply changing the progress bar color to red or blue..or something not yellow. Or just highlight it in another color and avoid the problem when it comes to other color backgrounds E. G. a 1 pixel wide black line around it.
Just a random thought, but wouldn't it be funny if the Kodiaks said that when they engaged the intercept ability? Hilariously funny! Was the captain's name Leeroy by any chance? It got renamed that on his tombstone, in my case
(as people tend to ignore stickies as well). Bad habit of every single forum... and one that tends to "snowball" like mad.
its unnatural for the coordination to be that good. Just out of curiosity, how so? All the ships have to do is tell their computers to initiate jump simultaneously, and if the computers can't manage it something is seriously wrong.
who did you? Stoopid, sorry.
The AI is constantly going through revisions. If you are able to describe specific behaviours that you find illogical please pass them along. There may be bugs or areas for improvement that we are not aware of. I had a light-frigate break off from the rest of the fleet and engage a large cluster of Gauss cannons without support. Does that count?
I've been looking at that as well Ron Lugge. It is the file I spoke of in the OP. I wonder if you can name something like, "RESEARCHSUBJECT_ARTIFACT_SHIELDREPAIROVERTIMEINCREASE" and add the strings and all and that would work? I wonder if the name has something to do with the variable it affects. Oh, oops.
What architecture is that minimum CPU requirement based on? Core2Duo, P4, Athlon 64 (X2)? (I'm asking because my bro is considering / is already pre-ordering the game, and joining in the beta).
There is a file labeled "RESEARCHSUBJECT_ARTIFACT_HULLREPAIROVERTIMEINCREASE.entity"... does that help?
Wow, channel my explosion for me much?
not everybody wants to play on small maps and at the same time they wouldn't want the game to last a good 10 hours Well, larger maps are stuck with being longer games.
Allegiance penalties in a large empire. Already being looked at
The devs have been discussing whether pirates should be there around all planets from the start of the game. We'll have to wait and see what the next build brings. When is this mythical "next build" due out?
Ships will only wait 30 seconds for fleet formation before jumping ahead. I think Blair posted that elsewhere on the forums. Except... they don't. I've had fleets stick around for several minutes at a time. Edit: I just had it happen: My entire fleet was waiting to jump from star to planet for about 2 minutes before I gave up, and repeated the order. A bunch of the ships then changes from "waiting f
in their upcoming game Oooh! OOOH! How do I do that?! I wanna be in the game! (Even if its just a joke, at least I know I'm in the game!)
FYI, devs have stated that debris is on the "to do" list. Actually I think it's been said that it's already there, just not in the beta. Stoodid me.
It was changed to the current "only jump from an arc facing the phase lane" system because the old way allowed you to pretty much circumvent any defenses with impunity. Phase jump blocker FTW!
