my latest 2 cents.......i know *sigh*..... 1. Change 'look' (including ships) on governments rather than alignment. Encourage a link between government style and alignment. Use the more democratic styles to block decisions to go to war with 'friendly' AI's. Force players to change government to accomodate strats or change AI relationships (eg through ending trade) so that strats can be passed by senate. 2. consider an optional turn-based combat screen that utilises ship to ship

would like the meta to run like a sports league. 1. reset every year, with medals dished out for that year 2. a set limit of empire players, the 'team' (say tech's 20) contribute to the score or 'play', the rest of the players in the empire compete to get into the 'team', or if unhappy, move to another empire. this has the advantage of a periodic reset with a recruitment or 'transfer' phase - swapping empires etc. The establishment of a long term record ie 2003 champion et

i've just done an edit, but have yet to see if it works. what i did was find out the highest number of starbase modules (in my case 55 - there were two original SBmodule files) and then edited the omegaSBmodule file changing the numbers from 80, 81 etc to 56, 57 etc you'll probably find out if it works before i do. the missus az just banned me from playin' :sniff!:

i've been mulling on the scoring system, and was wondering whether it might be possible to base a scoring system on the game variable of 'internal ranking' ie the longer you are not 'top dog' in the game, the higher the score if you win it. This could then apply to all levels, and would result in a game won by a good struggle against superior postioned AI's being rewarded with more points than a game where the player gained superior position early on in the game through whatever means (cranking,

1. usually track my ships on the map, so dunno... 2. i ignore all that stuff, cos it often doesn't make sense 3. i don't relate sliders to individual planets, just to an overarching strategic postion and whether i want a battleship NOW or terracomputers NOW. some mods are approved some aren't. there's a mods button on the left if you wanna investigate. there was some talk of doing a 'top ten' but i don't know if it's eventuated yet. the omega pack has a good rap. my poz would be to play the original game, get to know and love it, then enhance? up to you really.... :)
