OMG it loads in under a minute! YAY!
Aqua.
This is odd, I just went to the Stardock site hoping to look up my registration number, serial number, or anything. It couldn't find any records under the email addy I used when buying the product, nor the three addresses I have since used (notifying stardock each time).
Thanks, I just did email them... hopefully this will produce results.
Ok, I just tried crossreferencing again, when I completed the process I got the following message. >Your customer information has been found. >Your new User Level is 2
Shame on me, using "heck" twice in a single post... I must be getting tired.
The most I've ever paid for a computer was $600, I also know where to go to get P4 systems for under $400 (legally). All that's for buying a brand new system, not merely upgrading parts. I have no idea why anyone would pay more than a grand for a personal computer... heck, most people would be happy with a Celeron 500mhz machine unless they were gamers. Heck, I've been running Photoshop on a Celeron 700 for years with no complaints and before that it ran well on a K6 333. <A HREF="htt
Well motion, that would sure account for all the high end PC's & Mac users here. Us poor college students can't afford all that fancy stuff.
FYI, I'm a tender 21, lol BTW, does anyone have a list of what the logon screen for WinXP is supposed to say? I'm using the Logika theme and I can't read portuguese.
I have crossreferenced my accounts. It says I'm a type 2 user or something. I still get those messages.
! That does surprise me, as good as windowblinds is I expected a much younger crowd. I came across wb when it was 2.something and since then I know at least a dozen friends who have gotten it as well (all under 25).
With regards to Stardock's financial success, why are they giving away their best programs? I can understand timed trial offers, but I was happily running windowblinds for close to two years before my mom gave me a copy of object desktop for christmas last year. Which brings me to my second point. Even though I now have a bought and paid for copy of the full object desktop suite, I still get those annoying little pages saying that I've downloaded too much or some such junk. I was und
I sure did notice. No spouting off the top of my head here If it's any comfort, we weren't allowed to use calculators either in most math classes. Heck, even my calc II teacher last spring wouldn't let us use those wonderful devices. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle"
Mac, Yes, I have had the unfortunate experience of trying cruddy Motorolas. My junior high and high schools were Mac environments. Quite frankly, I grew to loath them. They were breaking down all the time and were akward to use. Yes, windows is about as ugly as it gets, but it is MUCH more useable and when it goes screwy I can fix it myself instead of having it sent off. I am quite glad that I graduated in '99 and have only seen a single Mac since. <A HREF="https://www.wincust
Moshi, thanks for catching my BSD & Linux mixup. You seem to be doing a lot of cleaning up after me tonight, sorry.
With regards to MessiahWWKD's complaint about the skinning engine. I believe it has been stable for the better part of a year now. In addition there are also tools out there that convert the old skins into skins the new versions can read.
Out of curiousity... If Mozilla is the beta for Netscape (and yes, I know it is), then why are the versions of Netscape based on Mozilla so much worse? Must be an AOL thing,
Ok, I just found WBZilla made in 2000, and Netscape made in 2002, both for WindowBlinds. However, neither of them have WinXP support. Is there any place I can go to request a skin be made for XP? PS, if you haven't noticed, I'm somewhat a beginner.
1.1 may be beta, but 1.0 isn't. There's also the Netscape 6 series and the new Netscape 7 which are also skinnable and use the same skinning engine (v 6.1 on)
I'm initially tempted to say that I would switch to OS X. The problem with that is that you can only run it on Apples, which wouldn't be a problem if they weren't little pieces of, um, never mind. Basically, Apple has a top of the line OS, and they've tied it to cruddy a cruddy CPU company, Motorola. Of course, there is always the price issue, why would I pay close to $2k for an apple, when I can buy an IBM compatable with the goods for around $600 (or less). So, I suppose I
Two Parts: 1) I just went to the site looking for a new skin for Mozilla (1.1) and to my great surprise, there was nothing category for that wonderful little skinnable browser! 2) I also searched for skins for WindowBlinds and WebBlinds based on the Mozilla/Netscape "Modern" theme and drew a blank. Does anyone know where to find a theme on this? (And don't say create it, unfortunately I have all the artistic talent of roadkill... unless splatter paintings count <img src="http
