(Why do I know these things?) Personally, I don't have much drama in my life. I have spent years culling it. So you may be like me and partake of some proxy drama here.

for cheney: how many times can one view a standard commercial video recording of 'dr strangelove' before it begins to disintegrate? Now I'm gonna have this image in my head of Cheney grinning in the war room and George riding a bomb.

They are her favorite shows and she spent summers working on her grandfather's ranch. Ok, now I find that to be just a tad off. Surely she has seen how animals treat each other.

Lets just say that it hurts. I don't really know how to explain, I think most, if not all, of us know how you feel. There's a little sharp pain in your chest; you find it difficult to breath; difficult to think; you're not sure what to do to wipe your mind clean. It sucks, but you will recover. From what

nor should you be when i mark your door with the secret sign that lets our missionaries know you enjoy being awakened at 5:30am on weekdays to purchase the current edition of our flagship publication, 'the knockoff designer watch tower'. I won't be offended by that if you are not offended by several 9

At that point (as I tried to mention earlier, just not sure if it was clear or not) I agree with you. That would have been where I replied with a "lol" and left it at that. Thanks for the input. And for the record, the vast majority of Mormons that I have k

Absolutely. "Gideon" is the name of a figure in The Book of Mormon Well, that is a reasonable explaination for that. But if he were just looking for another LDS then my first response should have indicated to him that he had failed.

"Hey, we might have something in common" So out of the couple thousand people playing, he had some credible reason for thinking I was LDS?

24 Replies 2,931 Views

You actually, IMO, set yourself up for him to respond the way he did. I didn't ask him to initiate the conversation asking me if I was LDS. What the hell kind of question out of the blue is that for an online military game?

Husband tells me that a vote for the lesser of two evils is still a vote for evil. Much of life is a compromise. Just about any situation where you have to interact or deal with another person will involve compromise. Attitudes like your husbands offer no room for compromise and are unrealistic if you want

I'd like to see you escape poverty. That statement just shows your ignorance of the people on JU. Many of the people here, myself included, have been homeless and poor, and we managed to "escape." Little Whip has overcome more adversity than anyone I know.

Considering that she has no need to work, then it could easily be seen as a vacation. She has everything she might ever need at home, and she has the people around here to go fetch something if she finds something she "can't live without." Of course, there is probably a lot of work that she could do from home, if she felt the need.

Or propaganda for terrorists and vigilantes who need "legitimate" opinion to validate their acts. True, and this is where the ICJ moves from being a joke to being a tragedy.

The security clearance thing threw me too. Does this mean the Air Force could play in our SCIF? Most SCIFs I have been in required "need-to-know" and/or Top Secret. I doubt the clearance they are refering to is TS.

The power that courts have is "soft" power. Without a means of enforcing their "law" the ICJ is simply an organisation for producing comment.

Bill Gates did not "start poor". He's the son of a very wealthy attorney. He attended Harvard University. This doesn't change the fact that many people have pulled themselves up from humble beginnings.

Do you know 1 in 20 black males die from murder? Thats pretty pathetic. And the millionares can't spare a dime. The millionares ARE sparing dimes... billions of them. Is it the millionares that are murdering these 1 in 20 black males? Maybe you should address the cause of those murders isntead

I am so tired of this arguement. Rich people aren't more hard working I never said rich people are the hard working ones. I believe there are rich and poor in both categories.

I think multi-millianares have enough money to have they're taxes raises, about 50+% I certainly think Edwards deserves this since his years as a lawyer contributed significantly to raising the cost of health care in America.
