I know if they ask you to rate your pain in the emergency room never rate it less than 8, unless you just want to be the last one seen. You never know to in a hour or so you might just be an 8. Cracked bones can start out a 3 and then slowly rise to agony.

i would like to see more from DeskScapes and the .dream format than just a annotation for the artist. Such as more video control and even support for live feeds if feasable. It's certainly a challenge to create a seamless video loop which is why most all the premium DeskScapes will be animation even though there much more time consuming. I'm surprised no one has put a camera in a water proof case, half in the water and let a wave sp

I did have the Company of Heroes install ask me to install dx9c, which I did. However DX diagnostics says I still have dx10 installed, Question; Have you heard why Vista shuts down you hard drives on a restart, and is there a way to make it stop? I thought it had something to do with the new power management stuff but I can't find anything to change. I checked the EVGA motherboard forums and it only does if your running Vista not x

I installed the Vista Ultimate upgrade and so far it’s been about like it was going from 98 to XP. No drivers for my Epson 1600 SU scanner or R800 printer yet. I ordered a new HD that’s large enough for another partition so I can dull boot XP for now because I need my printer and scanner. I have a gig of memory but Vista’s only leaving me around 400mb and I thought that was going to be a problem for Gaming and photshop but both seem to perfor

"I’m talking about the massive fear response that pumps you full of adrenalin and scrambles reasonable thinking. The response that was supposed to get us up that tree before the saber tooth got us, not the fear of eventual illness and death". What you quoted. "I bet you can’t name one thing that we need an INSTINCTIVE fear response to protect us from". What do these sentences mean to you? Does it sound like I'm talking a

What do you call it? Reason, I am aware like all humans that some people will do me harm and that those type individuals often hang out in dark alleys. In such a situation it would much better to keep your wits about you don’t you think? <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#F

Were it not for fear - we might end up hurting ourselves. Fear protects us. I find I have to make peace with my fear to live with it. I bet you can’t name one thing that we need an instinctive fear response to protect us from. We have an intellect now we don’t need the fear response any longer. Fe

Yes the overblown fear response is just so quarter million years ago. Most of it should have left us a long time ago. Whether or not we still need any at all is difficult to say, it’s such a huge part of who we are. You gave a few examples but you could write several books on how fear shapes our actions. It is overwhelmingly negative and no longer necessary IMO. They can put electrodes in the brains of manic-depressives now and just flip a s

Yes they do, "All editions of Windows Vista will ship on the same DVD. It is the license key purchased that determines which version will be installed. After the product key is entered, the user will choose whether to install the 32-bit or 64-bit version of that edition (except for Starter edition). The features of the Home Premium and Ultimate editions may be "unlocked" at any time by purchasing a one-time upgrade license through a Control Panel tool called Windows Anytime Upgrade. Th

I’ve been researching which version to get myself. There are numerous discussions on this to help you make up your mind just google Vista 32 bit or 64 bit. I decided on the 64bit version because benchmarks show it to be around 10% faster than 32bit and most of the next gen features of vista will only be available in the 64bit version. Such as no kernel patch protection witch makes Vista32 much less secure, and it’s to easy to hack Microsoft won’t let it play HD or Blue ray content. <br/

Hmm, I've been using skinbrowser at least 3 years and it's always taken that long. It's done this on the last three computers I've had, the only common factor is XP pro and pretty much the same programs. I've tried shutting down everything using msconfig but no change. For years I've been just opening SB before I leave or go to bed. Ah well maybe it will work ok with Vista.

While a positive mental attitude can certainly help you to heal faster, I doubt you willed your illness away. Stomach flu’s are very short duration, sometimes lasting only a few hours. That’s why you feel so sick; your body’s using all it’s energy to fight off the invaders I think you can ether will yourself to be happy or you can’t. The ability is at the core of someone’s personality and is not learned skill IMO. If your not one of these l

AMD needs to get something released; Intel has had the performance lead for too long now, the balance must be restored. After all if it weren’t for AMD we’d all be waiting to shell out $1200 for the delayed Christmas release of the new P4. I don’t need more than one pc and one of its uses is a source for my home hi-fi system witch I have invested a small fortune in. With Vista apparently degrading and disabling outputs that aren’t secure if i

I would jump in and argue with the pointless but it’s like getting in a fight with a drunk. Your completely oblivious to the fact that your getting your ass whooped and you just keep coming back again and again until I give up. Then you’ll run off and tell everyone you won the fight anyway so fuck it.

Religious beliefs are abstract and open to interpretation. Whether they’re interpretation leans more violent or more peaceful is almost entirely influenced by the environment of the believers. Of course conflict and despair breeds extremism, I’m surprised anyone is arguing differently here. Well actually I’m not surprised to see one religion try to paint a competing religion in a bad light. There can be only one right? The question here woul

The two questions we can’t seem to grasp are how can something come from nothing? And how can space go on forever? The assumption that something can’t come from nothing appears to be false as we are here. There are many things that go on around us that we are completely oblivious to. Science has developed methods to show us some of this so it stands to reason that there is more waiting to be discovered. From an evolutionary stand po

When religious conservatives support Social Darwinism I find it very hypocritical but you’re an agnostic conservative and a proponent of evolution so that makes it ok I’m an evolutionist who’s not a proponent of Social Darwinism. I believe however we came to be we have become more than the sum of our biological parts. I believer we are now in control of our own evolution and wil

Checks ups can really be scary when you’re not feeling well. You can become a hypochondriac quickly. I went for a check up a few months back after feeling bad with a cough that lasted 5 weeks. I had smoked for 10 years when I was younger so I was really freaked out about getting a chest x-ray. All clear though turned out to be an allergy, but I believe if you see a doctor enough they’ll eventually find something they can bill you for. </f

I have DRL on both my vehicles and I wish they would implement daytime running lights better. Having your headlights on when it’s sunny is stupid and waist an estimated 600-mil gals of fuel a year. Auto manufacturers are even allowed to disconnect DRL when they test fuel economy. The technology is quite simple to have a dual stage sensor that turns running lights on automatically when the light levels drop to a point and full headlights at du

I moved to Miami from Alaska when I was 6 and I was in the doctors office for my first checkup and there was a black woman in the waiting room, the first one I had ever seen, and to my mothers horror I blurted out “Look mom the palms of her hands are still white” The women then replied “I guess I made it to the doctor just in time then”. I feel fortunate having grown up in Miami and being exposed to a wide gamut of people from early on but I c
