Oh well. It's the beta, I can wait. Not like I have much of a choice. ^_^

Another "major" bug- since I haven't seen a response on it in 8 hours Disable super abilities isn't working right now.
I tested it out now, and it didn't work for me- anyone else having this problem? It's a feature I really wanted.
Similar to Firaxis's games, I'd like to see a zoom to planet when a planet is building a Galactic Wonder, and then no longer can. Right now if you forget about it, the planet can be building nothing for a ton of turns.
Seriously, they have a point. Companies like Stardock have made me expect a lot more out of game devs then previously. Not saying Stardock is perfect, but they are one of the best ones out there (I think highly of Paradox as well, and Blizzard has a good rep- though I hate Blizzard games) That said, Sega gets the benefit of the doubt from me- if just for their past- and in the case of M2TW, the TW series has always been more then a bit buggy.
Honestly, I think many in this community view don't have a particularly high version of the Metaverse- especially those who wish MP was in the game. I've never felt scoring a game is a good way to determine a win or a loss.
It's times like this some forms of weak scripting aren't bad or unrealistic- no matter how much you guys try to stick with your no-scripting rule. As a player, I don't mind scripting if it fits these two criteria a) It scripts to avoid something a human player who has played a couple of games would never do b) It isn't exploitable by the human Two areas of particular concern 1) The AI putting the wrong improvement on a bonus tile, when there aren't ot
I disagree with the change- I miss the bonus tiles personally. I agree with not having them on base planets though.
Hmm, another option- make engine power scale, so getting moves from 1 to 2 is easy, getting from 7 to 8 is hard, from 8 to 9 even harder... For example- assume engine power requires squaring An Impulse drive is 10 A Warp Drive is 20 2 Warp Drives give a movement of 6. If someone sticks 4 on there, it moves 8. the 5th gives you 10, but then you're running out of space to make the ship that powerful. 6th would make it 11. Now it's just getting
Making range an issue would help as well. One possibility- warp drives don't stack, impulse drives only add +1 if you have a warp drive. Engine tech doesn't add to your speed. Warp drive size becomes very inefficient with large/huge hulls. Slower ships would increase the need for sensors as well, as you'd have to predict things, and would increase the use of speed boosting/slowing starbases. Another possibility- only 1 warp and 1 impulse engine can be used on a ship. Better
Wouldn't the solution to this be make drives a lot bigger on larger hulls?
One warning- archiving everything on SDC can clog up your HD- I had 10 Gigs worth of archives from GC2 patches up to DA... May want to clean that out every now and then
All I can say is, you don't like it, don't buy it. Send them a message if you can. There is no such thing as a "must-have" game.
One change I'd make is GGB should be makeable on Stellar Cartography, and cost less to make... It should be avaliable before even Diplomatic Translators.
One thing I'd like to see in GC3 is population by race. That way, races would sell other people, but not their own (unless it's the Korx) Realistically, how much do you think the US could get for Rhode Island, by example- they wouldn't sell it, or how much would the Egyptians take for Alexandria? Realistically, you shouldn't be able to buy and sell people period.
I like the spies in the capital gather information- and give them a bonus to it ahead of normal spies. I do not want to disable my good ally's tiles. I'll expand on the special abilities of spies Spies in a resarch center can steal tech that has just been discovered if lucky, or some progress towards the tech they are currently researching. Spies in a starport can sabotage a ship design, or steal weapons/defense/sensor/life support/engine tech Spies in an embassy can l
1) The Starbase techs, why not have them add HPs to starbases, or allow for modules that would increase starbase HP by a large amount. This would keep them from being floating deathtraps. Make Starbase weapons/defenses tie in to specific weapon platforms instead. 2) For resources, tie in the amount you can mine from a resource starbase, to the mining techs introduced in DA. 3) This one might be controversial. Allow transport ships to capture starbases, but allow for troop mo
Honestly, I say just axe them, except as a Mega Event. I really don't like the way this is going- and I'd almost consider it gamebreaking
I'd like to ask for those plans to be changed. I think a significant amount of players will end up disliking this feature. I can't tell for sure though without more input. Also, how hard would it be to do a toggle?
This is for game options you want in the game- things that can be turned on and off as desired. Two off the top of my head. Super Abilities. I think this one should default to OFF. On an unrelated note, how about a mega event where one race gains the super ability of another race, or their own if this option is turned off? I think the supers belong more in mega events then the main game itself. I do want this as an option though. Minor Civ Capability. Basically, s
I want the abilities as a toggle on/off, I'd play with them off personally, as I feel they will make the game too easy, and will never be well balanced. This will also be needed for the MP booster pack when it comes. I'll make another post about toggles/options wanted.
AI's should offer a peace before surrendering.
Overall, I dislike this idea due to the exploitation factor. This will be the first thing banned should the future expansion have MP as well (not that it should be a consideration for this, but still). There's just too much potential to make the game easy with this- I'd suggest at least make super abilities toggle default to OFF.
Agreed. The AI, especially since MP isn't in this, is the #1, #2, and #3 priority. Everything else is small potatoes. +1 to cutting this feature.
Keep this.
