I like the lawful/neutral/chaotic alignment aspect -one thing I'd like to see more of- though it's more of an expansion thing, is political events- EU2-style... It's the one thing this game is sorely lacking flavorwise.

Idea- perhaps a utility set of modules that will increase the repair rate on ships? Should be fairly expensive, but low in space. Also- I'd like to see it where you can only refit hulls, not upgrade ships sizewise (you can't change the hull when upgrading) I'd also like to see new survey anomalies appear throughout the game- so galactic guide book is useful...

You do some suffer ill effects from the initial evil phase... Then again, if you're surrounded by evil neighbors, you might as well join the party- what happened in my game- I was Drath and my neighbors were Yor, Drengin, and Korx- so I went evil...

Suggestion: Have two expansions, one single-player one, and one for MP... For MP ONLY, I think $10 is a reasonable price. For an expansion pack with MP- $20 or even $30 I'd pay. As for the poll: While I agree GC2 is excellent, the people who wouldn't recommended GC2, how many of them actually were still around to read that?

I have an idea for the weather- is this world based on Earth? The US If so, you could run it off observations for a bunch of locations- it's not hard to get METARs. I don't check this board much, and that might be overcomplicated, but it would be doable- especially if you stuck to 24-hr stations.

The only thing I really really want is hulls for the rest of the races- and that shouldn't cost anything. As for Firefox and these forums, Firefox crashes a lot for me when I try to highlight text on these forums.

One thing I'd like to see: Some of the AI traits, get randomly scripted from game to game: such that in some games, the Torians would act isolationist, and some they aren't... Would add a bit of spice in every game- the main AI features would stay the same, but the trimmings would change around to fit the game.

Why not do it this way Release the "gold" version retail (full game+expansion) for $30 (You'd not lose money selling it at the expansion price, since you wouldn't get that many more GC2 sales by September or Feburary) Release the expansion itself through SDC, or through mail-order? I don't think anyone who has bought GC2 does not access this site at all, for $20. That being said, if you go full stand-alone expansio

Actually the random variations in growth rate and other factors would be a nice tough, and something I'd like to see included in an expansion. There are some good points in this post, though they aren't major ones to me.

Well, the response to the starbase is a relationship drop. That's something you do without the message... THerefore, it's not so bad.

Regarding the government techs- I'd like to see in the expansion events (mostly bad) that increase in frequency once you get to later governments... As for scripting- I like the AI to have some variation in its tactics- but I always have the same research build for the first four techs- Labs, Xeno Comm, Universal Communicator, diplomatic relationships... I also always rush-build at least two colony ships. I guess I'm scripted

A simpler form of vassalage, like AC- would work. - they give a portion of their income to you. (maybe 50%) - they have to agree with you on UP vote - they have to give you all their techs - they declare war on anyone you declare war on (or they break vassalage and declare war on you)- this includes offensive wars. - they cannot declare war themselves

You have to look at defenses though- the high end shield techs are also very space-efficient, which means while you may get more AV, the opponent can easily grab DV. Missile defenses are pretty big as well. IN general, I think big ships do better with missiles, a fighter heavy army does better with beams. Mass drivers stink though- while they are hard to get armor far, it's real hard to do good damage with mass drivers- even the nano ripper isn't

Idea for helping the idea deal with the fast strategy, and players as well. Allow one fleet to be set "designated defender"- like Alpha Centauri, where any attack on the square- that fleet gets attacked first. THen the AI can stack a combat ship/fleet with their frigates (as could the humans) to give them some protection). It would also allow fleets to protect starbases.

I'd say UP for the expansion should be reworked from scratch. It's one of the few areas where GC2 is lacking seriously.
