Well, there should be a pernament diplomatic penalty for declaring war on a race you declared a treaty with (outside of honoring an alliance) . The amount of the penalty should be based on how quickly you declare war. Immediately should cause a massive drop with all races, after about 13 turns or so ,the drop should be very slight. Truce should be an option as well, holding you under no obligation, but the only peace treaty that can be done with a

This is why I say there should be two expansion packs 1) An expansion pack that gives all the expansion content 2) An expansion pack that gives all the expansion content+ adds multiplayer functionality, for $10 more. See which one sells more...

The problem isn't so much surrender, but how it decides who it surrenders to. Here's what I think the priority list should be. a) A race with a non-opposite alignment, that is at war with the race you are at war with- if they are at war with the race you are at war with, AND the alignment of the race you are at war with is different. (So goodies can surrender to a neutral race, but not if they're being conquered by another goodie race,

Well, Game Informer is one of the sites I trust least for reviews- since the magazine is pretty much owned by a company whose main interest is moving their game product- which leads to overinflated scores and payola schemes.

Perhaps a sabotage option should be allowed in a future expansion for times you don't wish war, or a merc/pirate fleet could be hired? Or maybe a limited war option- can attack starbases, freighters, and ships in the open- but cannot attack planets or ships docked in planet. Limited Wars end automatically when either one race ups ante to full war, or an amount of time passes with no hostilities, or peace is declared.

These aren't bugs, these are two things I don't particularly care for gameplay wise. 1) Planet specialization. It already exists in the game. It was called building your factories, your research centers, etc... I really don't think this adds much to the game outside of an extra layer of micromanagement. Also, in the early game, that +9 is insanely powerful. Overall, I think the specialization is a layer of micro that isn't necessar

Honestly, this isn't about self-esteem. I'm sure there are hundreds of programmers who would like me to compliment them on well-done games... It's about performance and customer support. I'll say this- a lack of customer support is a reason for me to quit buying games from a company. It's the reason I will never buy another game from EA for example- console or PC. Their customer support is ultra-craptastic. To the top poster:

I'll say this- I can't think of any better solution. I wish your policies would become the standard, but it won't happen- Joe Gamer doesn't know enough to get upset with DRM. However, you have gotten a LOT of good publicity with your stances so far- which is helping your sales. your DRM policy probably has made Stardock in the six figure dollar range.

Well, we've genocided populations as well- and we're considered a "good" civilization (not trying to start a political debate) What we do to bugs/Yor/Thalans doesn't have anything to do with how we perceive our morality- Morality is more how you treat your own, not the buggers.

I never found Blizzard's support all that special. Before Stardock, Paradox's support was what I considered best in the games industry. Paradox and Stardock are about even in supporting the customers- I'd give Stardock a slight edge.

I had an idea for an abusive tactic. Invade a planet, have multiple transports, steal tech on invasion. Put all but 1 population on the transport- then give planet back to enemy you're at war with. Conquer planet again, take tech. That could be a problem with no tech trading.

Yeah, but all those starbases have to be guarded, and all the constructors do add up production/cost-wise... I find military starbases only useful in siege or defensive situations- not good for fast warfare, which is what I prefer.

Few comments: 1) The logistics change: Agreed Entirely. Two Dreadnoughts or Battlecruisers can tear through fighter fleets with ease already, gaining hp's as they do so, making it harder for swarms to beat said ships. Also, Capital ships are quicker. I think engines should have a moderately higher size cost with size then they do now. 2) The nano ripper is overpowered. The evil weaponry is slightly overpowered. Perhaps weapon
