Will you be able to pre-order without TG?

One thing I'd like to see, is for unrest to create saboteurs that you have to deal with by using agents. That being said, it would have to be harder to get approval up- I think everyone jacks their approval to 90% now.
Well then, why not have multiple expansions, and include everything down the road. We're willing to scarf up everything for GC2 at this time. I'll be honest- no matter what the features, I'd probably pick up the expansion, as GC2 is the only pay game I have on my hard drive (I've bought other stuff since then, but it's been taken off- and quite honestly, I don't buy most games because they're flat out not good enough- the next thing I can see myself getting is EU3 later on this year, and I d
Here's the question: With 33% saying they'd get the MP- and Given GC'2 base, can a profitable MP expansion be made, not assuming new buyers coming in just for the MP (I don't think they'd be a huge amount) I do think a cheap, barebones, no-frills MP would be able to be implemented, especially given the cheat code already in the game. I don't know that for sure though. I do think the MP community for TBS's tends to be insular, so a gamespy lobby like deal isn't needed- just a way for them
Conclusions I draw: Tactical battles is what the majority of the playerbase wants, but it also a feature a large portion doesn't want. The MP wishers are small, but fanatical. If a cheap MP could be done, it would still sell well. Complex ship design might have been misinterpreted- as I though it meant more jewelry, not the other things. I want Funny Car type ships... Overall, if I was to prioritze the features, I'd rate them as follows 1)
I do, if you read things by highlighting text- Firefox will crash very quickly...
This is what I asked for when I voted for more politics... IT's the big area that GC2 is lacking in, and one of the things that knocks it down from an A+ in my book (game is still an A- to A though)
I'm betting tactical combat would also be the feature people least want. Either that or MP. Personally, if TC was ever implemented- I'd want it to be fairly simple in nature, and non-exploitable. That's too much to ask for though.
I'll go so far as to play I will not buy games where I can't get the crack for it. Putting the CD in is too inconvenient. I wait to patch usually until the crack is done.
I'd call it, at best, an unwanted feature- maybe keep as option, mando for metaverse games- if the reason for it is the reason SD explained.
Could the AI handle this?
One complaint I have is that larger engines should be much larger on bigger ships- it would balance them out some. Perhaps an additional size/cost penalty for extra engines on a ship? This would help to nerf superfast ships.
Actually, in the last game I did, My opponent went lasers- I built up a military starbase to assist fleets, and it really smashed the fighter fleets my opponent was using to bits. When they sent the heavy fleets, it was a speedbump, but it was a fairly cheap starbase (gave it 18def or so vs beams) I still think fighters are underpowered compared to cap ships though.
weeble, as much as you said force multiplier- I'm guessing you're USAF... Personally, my preference is big ships+ industrial might- only problem is surviving to that point. Still, initial planets are a good sign of balance- there's a reason the Korx get a secondary class 8, and the Iconians a class 15 to start.
I have similar specs, and I have no problems playing. I do have 1 gig of RAM , but I've seen rigs play it with less.
Maybe in that case planetary defenses should be improved- especially if they are so weak. Perhaps make them add +100% more to defense, or give each defense a 10% shot of taking out a transport before the fight, or something. Maybe also allow them to aid defense for ships on the planet?
That wouldn't be good for game balance. One thing that does need to be resized is the engines-larger ships shouldn't be able to get insane speed so easily.
Question- have you guys fixed the String not Found errors yet? I had to go back to 1.11 because it was annoying me too much- they're all over the place.
I can't think of any race I really want killed off. Drathi are the only ones I could see getting bumped off. My new vote: bump off nobody and just add races like the Snathi...
I'm glad you're going this route- does this mean expansion will be in the full pack, or is that still TBD? Also hoping you make the Snathi a playable race. If you want to make the art team busy- how about Korx, Iconian, Drath, and Thalan hulls for the base game? All those races should have base hulls.
SD Central is not working for me at all- it is hanging at the loading of Cargo_40x for some reason, and my DL speed drop to nothing.
1/3rd isn't a small minority- especially given GC'2 base. Also, a high percentage of that base will purchase the expansion. The same can't be said for a non-MP expansion. The poll tells me that MP should be the second expansion, and that it should be MP only. The first expansion should deal with improving the gameplay, and adding options. The big option I want is political events.
+1 to an attack advantage, though I'd say do not allow it for planets. As for the cut-scenes or ship hulls idea- honestly, I wouldn't be interested in either one. Cut-scenes tend to get skipped after the first time you see them, and ship hulls don't really add anything to the gameplay, which is the area I want improved in the expansion (though gameplay and AI are certainly great as is, and I definitely feel I got more then my money's worth) I'd rather see more buildings an
I agree with the above poster: I'm not paying for this.
I know I'd love to play this game MP with my friends sometime. I don't think people are asking for a lot of bells and whistles, just a bare-bones MP would suffice. I really don't want the shiphulls pack though- that's a waste of money. What I want out of future product: more gameplay options more length more variety more startup options smarter AI MP is a low priority, but it would be nice to have- at least a direct IP game.
