You know in 1.0 the level 3 morale building beat the level 4 morale building? Also, players tend to do things the devs can't, because the pool of players is larger, therefore- the devs won't have a player as good as the best of the playerbase- who discovers these exploits.

I almost never upgrade my ships, I just build new ones and use the old ones for planetary defense (I also never build orbital fleet managers, so they manage to slow fleets down some to give my real fleets time to advance. Then again, I tend never to build fighters- I don't build anything new until medium ship building)

Given that there is no MP in this game- what point is there to put a feature in that the AI can't use well? All it does is make the game easier for the player, which can be acheived with a lower difficulty. Part of me really feels that MP would expose this game some- as I could see potential for a lot of crazy stuff in a MP environment. (SMAX was like this as well- played a couple MP games with friends and we came up with some crazy stuff using the unit designer and exploits) <b

Yes, as an option. And it's an option I'd always turn on. I'd only turn it off for MP if MP came in. Really, the one area I was really disappointed in GC2, and feel that they should have done better- was in the events. They should have been of the quality and probably the style of the Europa Universalis series- that would have added a ton of fun to the game.

One suggestion I'd like to make- perhaps have a running thread of every final version, so we can see what changes were made, somewhere on the site- instead of having to hunt through the forums every time. For example 1.3.037 to 1.3.041, what changed? Since this game isn't MP, it may not be worthwhile to patch up all the time.

Don't get me wrong- I respect the effort- knowing the resources, but they're not going to sell it well at $55. Also, my expectations before GC2 were high to begin with, I don't buy many games- I buy under 10 console and PC combined in a year, and enjoy maybe half of those.

$55 for an indy game? Sorry, I have interest in it, but $55 for an indy game is too much. $40 I'd get it, $50 I'd consider it. Especially if the AI is shoddy. Note- due to GCII, I now expect AI on games to be that good unless there's a large MP scene.

The Wii got SNK support. If it turns out they release their fighters for it, then I'll pick it up. Otherwise, I'll just quit and stick with emulation- none of the X360 games excited me at all, and the PS3 seems worse, and I don't feel like shelling out $600 for crap. The PS2 is perfectly fine for what I want in a console anyways- I might get more value getting an import chip for the PS2 anyways.

Suggested fixes: Military Starbase module, inserted with a new tech, that adds hp to starbases. Second idea: With Planetary Invasion tech- create a military starbase tech that prevents a planet from being invaded, or perhaps doubles the planetary defenses until the starbase is destroyed. This module should be very expensive though. (500 credits)

Perhaps a percentage of XP could be lost each game year due to retirements, captains shacking up with Aliens, picking up new red uniforms, etc...

One idea: farms increase pop growth. That would make them useful. That said, one thing I want in the expansion is to be able to build obsolete production buildings, or add in "mini-factories" later on in the game that can be built very quickly but don't give any more production that the earlier buildings.

Well, early game, mass drivers are by far the worst. Missiles get to 2 attack very early, and in early game, Attack value is king. Maybe if armor tech was a lot more expensive in the early game it might be worth it. Farms, I do see the point. However, I still don't think population counts for enough. Should give a boost to production and research more then it already does... I'd throw in an inefficiency penalty if you don't have enough people. (More people= more elites who are act

Overall, I enjoy the game, but these few things seem to be underbalanced- maybe I'm doing things wrong, but I think these things would add to the effective number of options. Most of these are buffs- as really, there isn't a lot of overpowered stuff in GC2, but there is some things I consider to be underpowered. 1) Planetary Defenses needs to be upped. Right now it's a useless build. Maybe give it a chance to foil any invasion tactics in addition to its standard effect. Also allow m
