The AI is not working at full capacity at Challenging. Put the AI on tough so that it's a level playing field, then come complain about it.

"This anomaly is nothing but crap. Seriously, sir."
Windows 98/ME/2000/XP 800 Mhz processor or bigger 256 RAM or more 32MB or bigger video card compatible with DirectX 9.0C Yes, I kept the box By the way, these are just the minimal, not the recommended.
I agree with Wade- enforced borders are not feasible in space, so I think they are fine the way it is.
So does changing your tax rate. That's why I did that test! True, I forgot about that. Hehe
What? You can do that? Giving it a shot.....
You could rename them all, but without the numbers you couldn't tell them apart... which you need to do when gifting to the AI, etc.
I actually don't think that population is the cause of the change. Moving population changes your PLANETARY income for that specific planet. I believe that THIS is what causes the change. I'll have to try adding Stock Markets, etc. without changing population (ie changing planet income without changing planet population- this should bring out the cause.)
If you can build a freighter then you've already researched the 'Trade' technology. I guess it's just an effect of the campaign (though I've never played it, so I can't say for sure.)
Well if it makes you feel better, it's not a feature, Cari has addressed the extra turn as a bug. I doubt it's a high prioty on their list, wouldn't you want them working on other issues, such as the ones you brought up? And you have a good point- is random TOTALLY random or random settings?
Planet quality/income doesn't matter? I thought they did.... well they did in GalCiv I. Haha I guess that's a stupid reason. Still, seems like they should.
REPLIES work fine on Firefox. It's the POSTS that are bugged.
I have left every galaxy setting on random (except size and tech rate) and have gotten TOTALLY different galaxies. One game I had a large map with about seven stars in it. There was A LOT of open space. Game after that, all six civs in my large galaxy had around 15-20 planets each. Big difference. Maybe you just need a more drastic change? 'Occasional' and 'Common' are only one 'notch' away from one another, and it is a random map generator, so maybe you just got two very similar galaxies? Or yo
1. Make peace. 2. Invade the planet with the Privateer. 3. That one is just a pain, it's true. Combat freighters would be a rather interesting addition. I saw a screen of a game that had an Altarian freighter with an attack of 19. Throw in some defense and hit points.....
I'm pretty sure it's only local.
Yes, ships get an attack bonus in orbit, that has always been. However, if you had a transport with 50-50-50 defense (just an example), isn't it a little dissappointing that it is forced to have 1-1-1?
Popularity is how much you are liked by all the other civilizations, if you had many allies, it would be high, if you were at war with everyone, very low. However, what the Diplomacy one shows is a good question......
You can go straight to 2D icon view. Just hit one of the numbers on the keyboard, they represent different views (strategic is 4?) If you wanted your game to be perfect and exactly even, then spacing options would be nice. I prefer it the way it is, it adds to the fun. If we were to send scouts ships out in reality, I don't think you would find a bunch of habitable planets all lined up waiting for you to colonize. Maybe you could send your constructors individually? There's
Never seen that either... maybe the armed ones are like black market dealers
I agree, the AI seems to be overly protective of it's "territory." Even when I park transports far into my own territory, they see it as a threat. I play on medium maps, maybe the galaxy is small enough for them to consider anything a threat?
So the galactic bazaar increases diplomacy? Not trade?
Oh well.... I guess my planets will just have to be ugly
ignuss- I've heard that extra turn called many things, but you're right, it's on the bug list. Somehow I recall it being called a feature to prevent cheese. Thanks for the correction
Ambient light is set at 25%. I have Intel 82865G Graphics Controller card, is it just not beefy enough to run the shadows?
