Newbie question here, but my planets are missing the shadows (from the stars) that all of the screenshots on this website have. Is this an option, or am I missing planet textures (which are enabled in my game)?

Ok, so I have played around with it and figured out techs can only have one requirement. But there's another thing- the "special" improvements (Trade Goods, Galactic Achievements, Super Projects) can only modify one ability? Has anyone played around with this either?
Meklar- that is not a bug, it is by design. Either way some have found it somehow annoying, I just click the turn button one extra time. My favorite is definitely the planet types also. That will give the colonization phase much more depth. Second are the asteroids. Finally, we get asteriod bases! w00t!!! And those poor Altarians.... I liked 'em, too....
I don't think you can trade fleets.... right....??
Wonderful. Great work once again, Stardock. I can't wait.
It is supposed to prevent cheese, if I remember correctly. I have never found it annoying, just give the turn button an extra click. But losing all rally points, that sounds like a bug.
When you click upgrade from the ship details window, there will be a checkbox that says "Upgrade all ships of this kind" or something similar.
Precursor Library gives 700% research bonus. It was not in the game until 1.2, as of 1.2 yes it is found in random maps.
They have written it back in 1.2. It was in the list of changes.
The GC2 tech tree is far from a jumbled maze- GC1 was a jumbled maze. This is just has a bunch of branches and is pretty straightforward.
Make sure that you select more than one ship- by clicking on more than one in the display.
Marcathonas, in GC1 terror stars could be mining starbases, and they didn't lose the resource. I think that's what he was referring to.
I agree with Marcathonas- some people are against tatical battles (including myself), but everyone would like better diplomacy options.
The AI does not have core ships, they design all of their own. However, I don't know how to change the starting ships.
Nice posts, I got a laugh from them. Thanks
The ship can travel two sectors in either direction. Thus, it can travel within a circle with a diameter of 4.
Kingmaker, you are so right.
Well I thought it was pretty easy..... next thread......
Yes, many people have noted this oddity. Hopefully something will be done soon.
There was a recent Metaverse score recalculation. I don't know if they have finished yet, but eventually things should be sorted out.
Thanks for all the input. I really wish it was possible, it would open up much more modding possibility. I was thinking to write in some techs to make the tree more interesting, personally I don't like simple branched trees and generic names like "Warp Drive IV." But now, I am lost! Thanks again, and Frogboy, consider changing this? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.g
Is it possible for a tech to require more than one other tech? I tried modding one in, and it didn't show up, probably my error but just wanted to check on this. It would be a shame if this is not possible Another question, has anyone put in more than one ability bonus? Ex. +20% Weapons AND +20% Defence? Thanks
Planetary Defense on a prairie is not a problem. Prairies themselves carry no bonuses. And yeah... if you are cheating in the game, of course the AI will be simple to beat- you're cheating.
About resource placement: Yes, it is unfair and random. But is that any different from the real world? I wouldn't think that evenly distributed resources would be very fun. It would mean that everyone got some, and you wouldn't have to fight for them.
