I watched "What Not to Wear" on TLC for the most part. When Ryan got home from work we watched the last two minutes of the game. I'm not a football or commercial fan. So I corrected papers and watched something I wanted to instead.

I hope that you're feeling lots better soon, K. I'm glad the only side effect of my meds are no cysts and happiness. lol Take care, babe.
I think at this point I would sit at one of those parties with my head down and red cheeks. Maybe after we get married...lol
My students like to have "cleaning parties". I break out my lysol wipes and they clean their desks, the student whiteboards, basically every surface in the classroom. They pick up the coatroom, scraps, pencils and crayons that find their way to the floor. They're REALLY good citizens, but, you know, they're in first grade and they're still really eager to please.
Coming to this small little town...oh man...healthcare here is so much different than it was in Las Vegas. The three doctors I've seen here have really gotten to know me and listen to my concerns. Even in Urgent Care. I'm used to pretty much writing out my own script and heading out the door, but the doctors here really help you figure out what's going on and are really concerned about ALL of you, you know? My family physician is re
That kind of crap is sexual harrassment. You don't have to take it. It was a civilized conversation until he dropped that comment. If it continues and it upsets you, say something to management. You don't deserve to have your relationship scrutinized by any one.
I don't remember my parents ever fighting in front of us kids...I know that they did...I heard my dad reference the two-week silent treatment on more than one occasion. For right now, Ryan and I can raise our voices and such, but I don't think it's appropriate to be screaming and swearing in front of little ones. I'm bad at fighting. I hope that's something we can work on in premarital counseling coming up here. I tend not to tell h
I couldn't agree more with this Gid. It never hurts to say "Hey, my family is going to a church function, would you like to join us?" You can open the door but you can't force another to walk through especially if they are very happy and confident where they are. The whole I'm living right and you are living wrong approach will o
I knew a Unitarian Universalist in Alaska. She basically believed all paths led to God. Even if someone chose to worship the light post out in front of their house. As long as they could reason about it, well it all led to God..and of course their faith couldn't debunk any other faith. That was one of the ground rules. Everyone i
Because of that, I rarely comment on religion threads (I'm pretty willing to bet that similar reasons from others leave them equally silent). I have my views, I don't really wish to debate them, and, moreover, I don't want to hurt the feelings of someone who may have an equally deep seated basis for their belief. But I DO read ma
lol...only a man can buy a pair of shoes on a quick teacher lunch break. I agree...NB is the way to go! Although I have a pair of Avias at the moment that are treating me very well. Congratulations on your purchase!
! I so love kids! And *that's* why!
So cute! My first graders wrote acrostic poems today. They had SO much fun! I'll share with you one (hopefully I can remember it! Eli plays football with me Voracious football player (okay...so I helped the kid with 'voracious'--a good vocabulary lesson, however!) A good friend Nutball I am (nutball is from the Junie B. Jones series that we've been reading) Isn't that cute? They just make my little heart go pit
Blue...5:30 comes awful early as I'm sure you know. I'll try to get back to you within the next few days. I haven't been doing much lately as far as excercise goes. The day I got those results I went to the Y and got a membership. Now I just have to have some time to get there. I figure at this point, anything is better than what I'm currently doing, which is nothing. Previously, however, I was working out regularly--60 mins of ca
Hey dr...I have a question for you! So I got my blood tests back. My cholesterol came back pretty good--166. But my long-term glucose test came back high (I don't remember the name of it). My dr. wants me to see a dietician and start exercising more. I've got all that down, but my issue is that I have poly cystic ovarian syndrome and my hormones are completely messed up. I have hypo-thyroid, and my insulin tends to run high (or it did las
Very, very well-stated, Zoomba.
It costs more to recycle things than to either compost them or landfill them. And, landfill doesn't really take up that much room or do that much damage to the earth. Comparatively, I mean. I've read that 85% of pollution is caused by energy consumption. And that makes sense to me. Recycling uses LOTS Of energy. I like the premise behind recycling, however. I can't imagine anyone who doesn't. But the fact is that recycling is more damag
I figure lots of things happen to teach people lessons. I take a look at my life and the stuff that's happened. It hasn't been a cake walk by any means. In fact, it down right sucked. But God used those experiences to teach me invaluable lessons I never would have learned otherwise.
Heck no...not a wasted day by any means. In fact, I think you lived life to its fullest today. You invested time in what you enjoy and what you think is important. I'm glad you got to spend time with your family.
My pastor at home in Detroit Lakes preached on these types of topics last week. I don't understand why there has to be such a disparity between science and religion. I mean...the prophet Isaiah said the Earth was round far before we ever "discovered" it was...
If God had written the Bible and handed it to us, that would be a valid point, Marcie. In reality the Bible is a lot of diverse material collected by MEN over the course of centuries. Given it is the creation of MEN, I think we have the right to question it. I wonder what kind of mess we can get into staking our lives and souls o
But he does not disprove Noah, only that not the whole world was flooded. The story of Noah can be true, but as in those days, it was a large world, perhaps only that part of it was flooded (My guess is a Tsunami - possibly caused by a meteor). So...basically the whole account is bunk? Like it had nev
While I fully believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible, I don't for a second believe that the Bible tells us EVERYTHING. The Bible says that God created Adam and Eve, but by the time Cain killed Abel and was cast away from the Garden of Eden, he feared that people outside the Garden would kill him. That leads me to believe that the Earth became fairly populated fairly quickly. Could Adam and Eve really have had that many children i
Sometimes people just need to be surgically sterilized. This woman is one of those people. I wonder where the fathers of these children are? I say fathers because...well...it just sounds like it...
Marice and Ziggy: I knew about the church being the bride of christ, but I simply don't get why you wouldn't want to get married to someone if you weren't a Christian. Wouldn't you want to commit yourself to one person for the rest of your life for no other reason than you loved them? Why does god have to be part of the equatio
