Ive been a member of geocaching.com for a while. Although I don't have a GPS. I want to get one though to mount onto the bike...but the cost is the main thing stopping us. I see you got the Iway. Ive heard of some issues with that particular series (iway in general I think)...any problems yet?

Well if you made a pit stop almost halfway through the state...that means you stopped in my town, lol. Would have been great to meet you had I known you were coming through (well that and I was actually up in MN at the time...but if I wasn't....)
Ive been watching it too since it started. Ive also been thinking about getting into the trucking biz myself lately....hmm. I remember hearing about the ice roads maybe 5-10 years ago. I thought there were some in Alaska..but Im not sure. Im sure there are more places than just this one that are ice roads.
But thanks for telling me 'how to.' I still think the IB competitions are pointless, and regardless of the 'official' story, they encourage unsafe behavior on the road. Yep...its all a big conspiracy. <T
Lol...well wow. Welcome back to your old self where if I have to explain...its because you don't understand. The IBA is dedicated to SAFE, long distance riding. They don't certify rides that are not safe. If I broke the law or someone reports me being unsafe....I don't get my certificate. If at any time, I felt like I was being unsafe to myself AND / OR others....I would immediately stop the ride. Last thing I need to do is get killed (m
well I have a six gallon tank...and I had to stop every 220 miles. I figure I was getting about 36 miles to the gallon or so. Not bad actually.
Marcie went up to MN a few weeks back...actually almost a month ago to take care of her mom who had hip replacement surgery. So that left me alone at the house for a few weeks until I went up to see them. Our anniversary is on the 24th of June and I decided to take my bike. I havent really been on any long rides with my bike...maybe 400-500 miles at most...if anyth
Just got online tonight and saw an email from my mom (wish she called)...she told me that our cat Dusty put to sleep. Shes back in Northern MN and Im in southern WY. But we talked the other day and she said she was going to bring him in today because he simply hasnt been eating at all and was really boney. Hes always been a skinny cat...about ten pounds or so and o
I used to go to Blockbuster a couple of times a week when I was in college. Then I started doing some shopping around. Blockbuster wanted around 3 bucks for a new movie rental while Cashwise grocery wanted just $1.15 for the same thing. Well...no brainer there. When we moved out to Vegas, after a while, we signed up for Netflix and have been with them si
LW, Thanks for the info...I googled like crazy and searched around and could only find companies that did towing such as disabled vehicles (tow trucks...etc) and ....whatever the name is for the services where you don't pay for your car and someone gets it from ya. I went out to dinner tonight and saw a couple of trucks at the truck stop (hmmm, might have to do some research there, lol) and saw them with company names like A & S tr
bump for...for something.
Lately as Ive been doing nothing about my career as I don't know what I want to do....Ive been thinking more about the transport business. Specifically, auto / RV / Trailer transport that can be hauled by a regular truck. Ok well a regular, but beefy truck. For the life of me however, I can't figure out what that industry is called and exactly how it works. <
Well, Im going to take a break from education for a while, maybe forever. I love teaching, but after a SNAFU first year, a second year as a para professional, and a third year which didnt go anywhere near how I wanted it to...I'm thinking I need to do something else to take my mind off and get back to me, being me. But Im not sure what that is. Since I wa
For instance, you mention a teacher who bribes her class with parties and the like, perhaps this was even suggested to Ryan, but shot down due to his belief that these things should be 'earned.' Others may see it differently, they may see such practices as positive reinforcement, incentives, and motivational techniques. Obviously
Well he was talking more along the lines of like self esteem....students seeing F after F have no motiviation to improve or something. Im a believer in you get what you earn. I dont give out extra credit because I believe one should do it right the first time...etc. I do give them a chance to fix their mistakes but they rarely take that offer up (even when I give their assignments back with 'fix and hand in' on them.
Well, if you are a reader of my wifes blog (Marciehelen), you know by know that as of Thursday afternoon, we are not going to be renewed for contract this next school year. She was not renewed because of lack of funding for her position; while I was not renewed because of performace issues. Rewind. Back in January, we had an inservice where my
Thanks for your comments so far everyone. Research how much interest each of those debts are! You already have a load of data on your spreadsheet, adding a column for APR isn't that much more work. what would this do, outside of showing us how much interest we pay each year? Or is that what you ar
When Marcie and I moved out here to Wyoming, we didn't have much to worry about as far as finances because...well, I dont think we were thinking. We ended up getting a double-wide (which we like), but its on rented land and not on a foundation so we can't refinance and are currently stuck with it. After a month or so of living down here, our bills really started to c
Any company that does not back up its products with a warranty deserves to go under. Is there no ombudsman you can go to?Also, is there no way of shielding your pilot light so it is not blown out? You would have to make sure that no fumes go inside the house. I don't know if there is anyone I can go to.
So here we are in a double wide out in Wyoming somewhere. Since we have been in here, we have learned valuable things...like....never get a manufactured home. Its not that they are bad or poorly constructed. On the contrary, todays manufactured homes are actually pretty decent and come at a good price. Ive been thinking about even moving the house onto
We have started buying some florescent bulbs. Spendy little suckers and havent used them long enough yet to see a difference...but our regular bulbs are starting to burn out and we are replacing them. In the kitchen, of the 5 available lights, 3 are now flourescent. One thing that I notice is there is a delay from when I flip the switch to when those blubs turn on. It happens with another table lamp we have in the house. I know there is a delay wi
